Due to the majority of our cars being around 17 years old plus, how would this affect our bhp. I remember seeing a series on top gear where they had to get an italian supercar and then put it on the rollers. There was one car that lost around 110bhp in 20 years if my remember correctly. Is there a rule of thumb out there to go by. A friend suggested 5bhp per year but i thought that was rubbish as that would knock 85bhp off if the car was 17.

Hi All, I first fell in love with the 300zx when I saw it in an issue of the "Supercar" magazine that was issued in either 1989 or 1990. I used to collect them at the time. I remember thinking how beautiful the lines on the car were, and indeed still are. Timeless beauty IMHO. I was back at my parents a few months ago and went searching in the attic for the old issue but unfortunately couldn't find it or any of the other issues. It must have been dumped after I first moved out first in '93. Very interesting thing happend earlier. Whilst on route over to Brighton in the zed, pick up girlfriend to take her to her mates. Get a nod and a thumbs ups from a bloke in a silver skyline, a bit later on after dropping girlfriend off, and heading home on my own, at a set of lights, another silver skyline this time a blue R34, pulls along side. Two little blonde honey's in it, give me a beep and a rev. So i cant be rude and give a smile and a rev back. got a vibration on the Z when cold, does anyone know where i can get a Prop shaft with new centre bearing or complete new prop?

Just a few pictures of progress, the pipe work for the turbo to intercooler to throttle bodies is done as is the cooling system pipe work for the two radiators. Just the radiator fan and air inlets and turbo downpipe to go!

Knowing my rear subframe bushes are leaking and worn been saving up to get them replaced but just seen these http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1374 anyone used them? are they easy to fit and what benefits do they give? They wont stop the bushes leaking tho will they and can the Z fail an MOT with leaking bushes? Regards Andy

Done the AT check just now and got one long flash and 9 blinks = engine revoution center circuit fault. No idea what this is.. bad good? expensive to fix?:(

I'm struggling with a few pipes on the engine that I'm building up, basically the car came in bits and so far we have then engine in, but theres a few pipes I just need identifying if someone could please help? :o First of all theres a rubber hose which comes out off either side behind the timing cover (red arrow): also on the second picture, there are two small hoses (green and blue arrows) that go into a metal tube each, on a single bracket which bolts to the side of the head. At the back of the engine they appear to go to EGR solenoid, or that area? But where do they go to at the front? Finally, I seem to be missing the fuel pipework from th…

Hi folks hoping someone can help me here, as my cars currently off the road having an engine re-build after heater matrix fail and head gaskets going pop:(, i thought i'd strip and prep the body to paint it soon, but basically i've found out you can't remove the door cards with the windows up, my car is minus a dash and engine etc, so any ideas how to get my windows down? i'm assuming with so many things unplugged etc that there's a gap in the system as i've tried just hooking the battery up but they won't go down, i do hear a couple of clicks from where dash would be,assuming they're relays. if anyone can help it'd be appreciated! thanks Ryan

Hey guys, my cig lighter is not attached at all, it was all taped up, Ive taken the centre console bit off where the gear nob is but their is no plug their to plug onto it, it looks as though the wiring has been used for something else. Also their is a 4 pin plug left hand side towards the back of where the centre console is, what is this for, i have put the plug back in but nothing seems to have changed, im not sure if it used to be an auto, could this have anything to do with it? Any ideas why my arial isn't working? Thanks

anyone got some advice on this prob i was driving the zx auto the other day and when the revs were going down the car was shutting off and i was haveing to put it intop neutral and turn it over while driving at around 20 mph then on the way home i lost 3rd and 4rth it pulls away in drive but wont go above 2nd ive checked the tps,oil level and oil was only changed less than 1000 miles ago also changed the auto relay thingy thats down beside the ecu on pass side totaly peeeeed off with it got spare box but hope its something simpler lol

Please i need help,was driveing the car 2day just cruising, and had a nice clear road ahead of me so i says why not and put the foot down,so the foot went down dropped gear and away she went but on reaching the top of her revs the gears didnt change and the revs just stayed high as poss untill i took the foot of the throttell,now i new this was not right at all,so i slowed her down,and things seemed fine,then i was driveing threw a town and notice that my car was not changing gears prop i.e pull away first fine second fine then as slowley increase speed revs go up but car doesnt increase in speed,as if the gears were not ingageing, and now it does this all the time,now iv…

Hi guys I done a relocation today in the same place as the youtube video shows left the bat off all night to reset the ecu the thing is even tho the car feels faster i think it still is safe boost. how can you tell if it is or not in safe boost?
