This is not mine, but a good mate. This was the first zed i ever went in, and its his fault i got the bug for them. I personally know this car, it is a bargain, some nice aftermarket bits, has original Impul badges, 99 spec front end, and uprated brakes. The pictures dont do it justice. Well worth a look if your after a decent one. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1045156.htm

Hi there all, After my bit of bad luck last week with e-bay and some Evo calipers I went on a bit of a search. Well today I bought a complete pair of Maserati 4200 Brembo calipers. Going to get the metal benders at work to make some brackets up and should hopefully be on the car by the end of the 1st week in June. Will keep you posted on progress. 3. Everywhere I go, people always ask Why I bought the 300zx!.. It really irritates me. Every car show I have been to, their's hardly any 300zx's there.. The cars which get the most praise which really boils my piss are the Supra's and the Odd Skyline... My 3 best friends have jap cars, One has a Supra, one has a GTO and the other an Rx7.. So we are always arguing over who has the best motor.. But, I know the 300zx is the best of the 3 in every way, and I know I am going to sound biased as I own one, but still... The Rx7 with it's wacky engine.. and cramped interior doesn't do it for me.. The Supra is a good car but I still feel that fast and the furious done i…

I have had a quick look through the searches yet I couldn't find anyting in releation to the noise I am getting from my car... Basically, as of last night.. I was driving into a car park, I turned full lock fairly quickly.. The steering wheel felt a little bit harder to turn for a second or 2.. then it went back to normal.. I straightened it up in the bay, but then I could hear like a "whirring/buzzing" noise as I turned the wheel, like the steering pump is working hard.. it's never done this before and I was wondering why it was doing it.. My levels are fine, no hicas warning light & tyre pressures are spot on... Any thoughts or ideas guys?

  5. Can someone confirm if my understanding of this is right please. The air flow comes out of the turbo (bit compressor outlet) along the pipes which you can get metal hard pipe replacement for (but the outer ones) then down behind the front bumper and into the intercoolers out of the intercoolers along the inside pipes which you can get metal hard pipe replacements for then into the Throttle bodies. Is that correcect? If so is there any blown up diagrams to show that? perferablly with an front mount intercooler as that is what i have. An diagram would be very very very... helpful to show the route of airflow from turbo to throttle body preferably with fr…

Hi folks maybe someone can save me hours doin electrical fault finding as my light on the dash stays on saying that the doors or the boot is open which it isnt. Ive got a clifford 300 alarm fitted and pretty sure this will cut into that circuit somewhere. I have disconnected the boot connector and the tried operating the door push buttons by hand and still the light stays on. Now before i start taking the drivers display apart i just wanted to check if anyone was familiar with this circuit and if there was any other connectors i could test before i went into the dash. Thanks for any help in advance Marty

hi i'm having major problems with my power steering. it used to be an intermittent problem with the speedo, but now there is no powersteering but the speedo does work most or the time. i have cleened all the connections behind the dash, cleaned the connector to the solinoid by the steering rack, and disconnected the speedo converte. the problem i found though is with the engine at idle i am only getting 1.6v at the solinoid. i know this should be 5v, so traced it back to the smaller ecu and i am getting 1.6v out of the ecu. now i'm stuck. does this mean a faulty ecu or could it be anything else? or is there anything else i can check please help!

think ive done something silly, car is NA auto, ive thrown out the clocks on my car, as they lookt like this.... ive gone to replace them with the clocks from my other car (manaul TT) the connections seem different at the back?? there are 3 spaces on the back of the TT clocks, which 3 blocks click into. gone to connect them up, but on the NA auto dash loom there only appears to be 1 block to conenct up?? are the clusters all the same?

Im having some issues with my current 'new' insurer regarding security on the car. I have a Cat2 immobiliser fitted and have scanned and emailed them a copy of the VSIB Installation certificate. BUT , they are also wanting confirmation of any alarm system that may be fitted. As far as I know the aftermarket system I have is Cat2 immobiliser only - does anyone know if there will be a factory fitted alarm installed ? The cars a 1994 Series III - Jspec N\A. If I cant prove further security they are wanting to terminate my policy

Morning, The other week while putting the fixings back on my headlight panel, I noticed my passenger side intake pipe full of water (my fault as I hadn't bothered putting the air filter, MAF and T connector back on and leaving the headlight panel rubbers off). I got underneath the car and loosened the intercooler pipe off letting the water out and I intend on removing my front bumper so I can completly remove the intercooler hoses. The engine hasn't been turned over as thankfully the battery went flat so I removed it for charging. Am I likely to have done any damage? Vijay

Hello everyone, Yesterday I took my Z on the road after quite some time. Enjoyed every minute of it until a problem occurred. Mine is an auto and every time I put my foot down hard and the Z blasted off, when I released the acceleration pedal completely, the car still accelerated up for a second or so..This happened a few times. So eased my way back home. It only did this when booted hard and was fine on normal driving.. Any idea what this might be???

  16. Heya, When i bought the car the previous owner told me that the timing belt had been replaced last April at 65k milage. I had a quick look through the receipts on purchase and everything seemed fine. Just had another look whilst looking for my MOT documents and the receipt actually says: 'Adjusted Timing', so i think i must of misread it skim reading when i bought it :-S The car is now on 72k and i have no idea when or if the timing belt has been replaced other than the word of the seller (which doesnt seem to match receipts). ive just had it serviced and new brakes and stuff so cant really afford a timing belt service for a few months, is i…

many of you guys may or may not remember me.. my z suffered epic head gasket failure last year and since then i just havent had the heart to get rid of her.. well although at the moment i cannot afford to put her back on the road.. as a replacement engine is just a no go at the moment finance wise! however would just let ya all know i have started work on the bodywork over the past 2 weeks! .. serious amount of elbow greese involved in sanding her down! .. want to get everything spot on then resprayed.. and then hopefully by this time next year should have afforded (recession dependant) an engine transplant/rebuild.. although still considering dropping the engi…

Hi guy's Just to let you all know I have just started useing a new paint system from the States. It means I can now apply a full chrome finish to any surface, even plastic. So I was thinking what I could use it on first. After seeing some of the attempt on chroming the front lights I thought I would have a go. As it happened I had a spare pair of lights, so this is how it went. After opening up the lights and stripping out the insert. A light rub over and then the base coat was layed on. Then the chrome efect A couple of layers of lacker and a polish and... Its a little hard to see the reflection through the glass but I think you ca…

  19. .....is the shared appreciation of a truly great car ! I know that sounds like stating the bleeding obvious but what I mean is that the appreciation is generally across the spectrum of models and the owners personal preferences in terms of mods/originality. Can you imagine how awful it would be to be a part of a club like.....oh lets say the Aston DB5 club where everyone was obsessed with originality or something like that (Not that I'll ever be a part of that club :) ) I think its fair to say that we all own great cars !!! I'm not entirely sure I've put that too well but I'm sure you know what I mean..... Mark

Hi people, OK.... My 300 is running good, but...I am a little concerned about my oil temperature. What is the oil temperature at idle, while driving, and under load for a standard and modded 300ZX? Also, does the grade of oil make any difference to the running temperature? Cheers all, Al.
