General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi all, My car (Radrons) has the Z centre Electric fan kit on it with the Z1 Howe Radiator. Now I believe the fan is set to come on around 85-88 Deg C. The Fan is pretty much on all of the time once the Engine gets to temp and seems to run on for approx 10-15 mins after the car is switched off. The temp Guage (Stock) sticks pretty much in the Centre although I know these are unreliable. Now I think the engine is probably running a little hot and after doing some searching on here it seems that people have reverted back to the Viscous unit and that this seems to provide better results in terms of overall running temp. Hi people, My zed will not start today, not turning or firing. I am getting just a click from a connector in the footwell fuse box location. I think it is alarm related, as yesterday the alarm kept going of for no reason and the indicators would not flash when arming/disarming, and when the ignition was on and the left or right indicator was selected, they both flashed, and now the alarm will not arm at all. So, what is the easiest way to disarm the alarm altogether? Cheers, Al.

Hi all, my matey has always wanted a focus ST and has now bought a lovely looking one. Been in it and it feels fast.. even with 5 peeps in the car the turbo on that thing really pulls. It feels quicker than mine however i didn;t know if this was because his is manual and my 300zx is auto. I know my 300zx is still fairyl quick except for it's boost leak at higher revs however i would like to know what these things are like compared to 300zx's anyone raced these. he is a nice chap and i have given him nothing but good comments with his car (as you do) however now he has gotten a bit cocky and demands i race him to 60 - 70 on the motorway. i'm starting to worr…

Anyone know who owns this car now. It used to belong to me / my ex. Then Gumball but was then sold on. I'm always interested to see how the cars I used to own have progressed. I think this is what it looked like when Gumball sold it.

Recently been feeling the pangs for another zed (SWB), and must admit I am tempted by this.. Seems quite a genuine car on the face of it. Shame it is an '89 though.. (Our buyers guide says to avoid). I'm trying to get the ''raw'' data from my Z through a RS232 cable I know the port is com2 because it works with conzult but I dont know these info: Baud:(...../9600/14400/.....) Data bits: (5/6/7/8) Parity: (none/odd/even/mark/space) Stopbits: (1/1.5/2) Flowcontrol: (none/XoffXon/hardware) Anyones know these infos?

Hi, just got myself a 91 SWB manual N/A. Love it 2 bits & it drives smooth. Just in2 the 2nd wk & sidelights & hedlights decided to stop working? ive done the obvious. . Relay, fuses, & changed the switch & still Zip! Heres the thing, if i turn sidelights on i get nothing right? i turn headlights on & get. . main beam. If anyone can shed some light on the matter (no pun intended) it wud be appriciated. Regards Matt

My Jap Import was supplied new without cruise control. I have another Jap Import which I am breaking with a working cruise control. How easy is it to swap it over. Has anyone done this before.?

Are front indicator bulbs not universal? Got some crystal clear ones but th orange bulbs don't fit. Looks like the too things on the side of the bulbs aren't directly opposite. Where can I get some that will fit

Hi all, long story short, loads of vibrations through the car, found the centre bearing to be at fault. Then notices that both U/J's are notching too. Any ideas who can recondition these? hi matey wondered if you can PM me regarding engine work you could do? looking to start of aiming for a 400bhp engine rebuild (at the wheels) however would like to be able to bung in bigger turbos when i save up for them after so that i still have the car in between 400bhp and preparing for up to 500bhp If you have some work slots available this year (as i am sure you are busy)then i would like to organise something :-)

OK, Soon will be the time to rebuild my 300zx. Looking at what sort of price i am likely to pay for: -turbos that can handle up to 500bhp at the wheels (was looking at JWT 530BB's) -Split fire coils (if i need them) -Forged pistons. (Wosner or weisco?) -555 injectors - stronger rods (If i need them) -Stronger crank (if i need it) -and a chip/ecu to support these mods -last but not least a fast auto box or a strengthening kit for my existing box (valve thingies - not sure what they are called) what am i looking to pay for these? I have found some on ebay for descent prices but does any of the traders sell upgrade kits that …

I drove to the shops & when I came out it just wouldn't start. I had the breakdown guys come out, he gave it a few tries cleaned up my spark plugs & then gave up & towed me home. I've had my immobiliser checked & bypassed but that's not it either... anyone got any ideas? The starter motor sounds fine it just doesn't fire,, it sounds like it wants to, it grunts a litlle but never picks up.
