Inside out feature Cas unit The cas unit is a much talked about part of the zed engine but quite what it does and how it does it is more of a mystery for many than its needs to be. Hi people, looking at rebuilding the engine soon and decided on nearly all areas of the rebuild except for what turbos to have! want an overall turbo fast at spooling and good at high revs but dont want to spend loads on these. Im a best in getting the original ones upgraded? and when the engine is complete with the rebuild what type of boost is save to run at? also will i need to take it to a rolling road/performance garage for them to set up the mapping/timing/best boost etc etc? Is it that you fix your Z and then find even more wrong? LOL Finished fitting my brakes and just need them bleeding tomorrow. Put my rear wheel back on and noticed a screw through an almost new 295 tyre! :rolleyes: :cry: Tyre hasn't moved in a year so it's been there ages and hasn't gone down. I started to unscrew it hoping it might be a small one but noooo it started to hiss and the thing is about 2 inches long. God knows how it got stuck in there. It never ends!

Ok my electric fan packed up earlier, the first time it was the fan controller so i had my mechanic wire it up so its on full time.When i finished work i went on a nice little drive to the pub and noticed the temperature getting a bit higher than average and i didnt think much of it as its been very hot today! so on the way back it started to to get to 90 degrees give or take a few so i pulled over and turned her off getting a bit worried and then put the ignition on and i cant hear no fan? popped the bonnet only to see coolant bubbling outa the pipes! I've been thinking about a silver on black rear number plate for my Z as I think it might look better on a white car. The DVLA website says they are ok on pre-1973 (I think) but there are plenty of much newer cars round here wearing them. Any thoughts guys on legality and style choice ? Mark

Hi everyone Looking for a big favour from a member. Got a missfire that comes and goes on my 300tt and error 21 (PTU). Read through other threads and most suggest "borrowing" working parts from a running 300, ie coil packs ptu etc... to isolate the problem. Willing to drive to your location. Any takers ????

Managed to get a quick trip to the dyno today to sort some running in mapping but unfortunately my clutch release bearing siezed on one of the run downs so had to cut the session short. Didn't even get any mapping done, just enough runs to establish 2 things really: First that the fuelling is still too rich but OK to run for now. Second that the airbox/intake hose combo I have is too restrictive. Didn't manage to isolate which part due to the problem above, very frustrating. Results so far, with air box lid on, ~350bhp. With lid off 420bhp @ 7.5k (on the current rev limit). Not too bad for such a rough, guesstimate tune, hopefully a bit more to come. I think I …

hello all, i know this maybe sound silly but can i get a towbar on my nissan 300zx 1991 model.....i have got a caravan and ma girls car is a 1.2 litre so too small for towing ,,,and i have had my nissan for a yearand a half now and i love it and i been out of work for a while now,and my boy wants to go in caravan so is there any way poss that i can fit a toebar to my nissan pls help i dont want to lose her...............

Spotted a Red Series 1 LWB TT (not too sure on the gearbox, was in the bus!) in Clondalkin, Dublin around about 13:30 this afternoon. Was it anyone on here? Very tidy looking example apart from the paint flaking off the spoiler.

I'm trying to do the rear wheel bearing on my zed and i cant remove the hub. I have used a puller, and i have hit the crap out of it. Is there something im missing? I have looked on the 300zx on line manual but it doesn't really help. Can anyone give me some advise? Has anyone done a step by step guide? Thanks sarah

started car to go work as usual.... car drove fine until i got 5 mins down the road. i went to accelerate and the revs dropped to almost nothing.... it finally rised and i went to accelerate again to see if it would happen again.... it kept doing it for 5 minutes and eventually it stalled. i started her up and pulled intoa side road. reveresed to turn around (no dip) went to pull out of road and it was fine..... seems wierd but what causes the revs to dip like that and stall? i drive an auto too, which can be embarrasing. someone actually laughed that i stalled an auto

ok so after driving for 15 minutes my other fan comes on and all of a sudden the car has a louder whirring (sounds like a fan) that gets louder with more revs. If i go on a long road and drive easily the noise eventually goes until i get stuck in traffic again. A few weeks ago i did change the temp sensor plug (the one on the left on the front) as the other one was taped and falling off. Before i changed the new plug my temp gauge would keep cutting out and coming back on so my car would read med temp to freezing cold in split seconds. It stopped for a bit however it has started doing it again... is this related to teh plug i changed or the sender? Also wou…

Rang glynn hopkin (nissan chelmsford) and asked for the Series 2 PTU for my 300zx. He said there will be multiple choices. he is glad to help me locate the part however as mine is an import he will not understand the japanese on the import parts. What he said is "if you can find someone with a japanese chassis and has S2 ptu as standard then i can use that chassis number to find the part number and help you locate the part" Obviously i can understand anyoen giving engine chassis a bit worried so what i thought is.... if someone does not know the part number i need can they ring up glynn hopkins. speak to parts department and give them the number so he can f…

Got my MOT early next week and one problem that was noticed once before was that the steering column has a slight bit of play in it - maybe 5mm side to side. Last time I just tightened up the bolts on the brace under the column shroud but it keeps coming loose. I haven't had a look under there for ages and can't remember exactly how it bolts up but has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible to weld it or something so it doesn't keep moving?

going to resove the 5 cylinder issue i have this weekend (or at leat hope lol) ive done an engine swap into a new car, (the coilpacks & injectors themselves workt fine when engine was runnig in old car) im expecting the rest of the connections on the loom to be all green/corroded, as the temp sensor one was foul! so after cutting & cleaning the temp sensor resoved the over fueling issue, i can see the first couple of injectors, which are on the inside of the intake plenum things lol where are the others? hiding underneath at the back? is the balance bar hard to remove? any tips on cleaning the injector connections be great…

My spoiler looks all distorted it a 92 uk TT, are they supposed to be painted as it looks like its warped, also when i lift the boot it drips, any suggestions what spoiler to buy, as this one has mastic all round it also where i lift the boot it looks like there is something missing as there is a metal plate bang it the middle looks nasty.

I am almost finished picking bits off Keith 5700s ex v8 shell. So far I havent found a single square inch of rust. Evevything underneath is like new and Keith spent hours waxoyling everything. Can anybody confirm if the 96-99 vq30 injectors are the same fitment as the 95 300zx.Im 99.9% sure they are but would like to make sure before i commit myself.
