I have been waiting for JD to do it but he must be to busy so i thought id sound these guy out. Im in manchester (roughly) and theyre in essex so if anyone knows somewere closer that can map the standard ecu then that would be good. I dont want a chip though, i want it proper live mapping. think theres to many different mods on the engine for a pre programmed chip. cheers danny

Cleaned the engine bay at the wk/end then this morning loads of black dust mainly all round the rad shroud and the black timming cover , the belts are fine ,is it just dust of the road, only done hundred miles ,any ideas:confused:

I know this is gonna sound real stoopid, but... How do you get out of a 300ZX??? The steering wheel hits my knee before it clears the cluth pedal, twisting the foot only jams it on the clutch pedal, i have to depress the clutch, to swing my knee over to the other side.. Am i missing something or am i a freak!! Ric

I put a deposit on a Zed that looked mint, seemed perfect and was due to pick up on thursday pending another test drive etc. Talked him down to well under £1500, so was cautious anyway; got a message today to say not to pick up as it had blown a cylinder through the side of the block! ever heard of this happening on a Zed? or did he just change his mind about selling? :( A bit gutted as I was looking forward to it despite needing a bit of work.. might have to pick up something like a volvo to do me for now as an 'emergency' car for the next few weeks :headvswal

I'd like to paint the 'Nissan' on my brake calipers with white Hammerite paint as I have some in the garage. Is this OK, i.e. will not burn?

So...as you all know I recently had a full engine rebuild and manual conversion (courtesy of Jimmer and Jeff@Zedworld). My first problem is that I now seem to have an intermittent problem where regardless of whether I am accelerating or holding constant speed, I lose power. Revs and speed start to decrease slowly as if I had taken my foot off the pedal. If I keep my foot on, the power comes back and then disappears repeatedly. I've learned that to get past the problem, as soon as the power drops, I release the pedal for a second or too and this seems to solve the problem until the next time it occurs... i recently purchased a set of white dials that glow when side lights are turned on, and the colour selectable from blue/green, These were from Speedhut in the USA and were for my MR2, I've looked on Speedhuts website and they do not appear to do them for 300ZX turbo's (180MPH). Is there an equivilent manufacturer for zed's? Thanks Ric

Hi.. my auto tt has been running with lack of power for some time now. when i'm driving i feel like i'm having to press too far down the accelerator to get it to shift..or have to make it kick down all the time... My cat warning light comes on and off and glows dim then bright which i realise is unburnt fuel gettin to them... When i press on the accelerator to pull off or to rev.. the revs drop by about 300 rpm an it sounds like it's gonna stall...but never does! I don't think it's ideling right... and gear changes feel a bit harsh..when it was runnin fine just the slightest flick of the key and it fired up..now i notice it's always a couple of turns before…

who knows? seems as though this may be a risk, i dont think there is anyway to tell :( I want to buy these ultralite nurburgring wheels 9.5 et20 all round, the spoke design looks as though they may touch my brakes...... anyone have these fitted with the 9.5 front and can tell me how much they cleared the stock brakes? btw if anyone mentions anything about them rubbing my arch with that offset i will shoot you. :nono::p thanks

Hi Guys, I'm looking to fit a UK spec rear ARB in place of the original Jap spec one. Can it be done without removing the exhaust? I know the droplinks will need replacing at the same time. I'm just wondering how hard/easy this will be. Cheers:duffer:

hi everyone ive nearly finished my 300 rebuild, rewire and bodywork, replaced the temp sensor and gauge sensor today, ran the car for about 15 mins not driving it just letting it idle because its in my garden, seems to be running a bit high on the revs so i tryed to adjust, but when i put the air con on the revs raised again, eventually i gave up with this and decided to relocate the dett sensor as this was the only fault that i was getting code {34). relocated it now engine sounds as if its running on 4/5 cylinders, totally pissed off now as this was the last thing that i had to do.engine is hot from previous engine run , getting code {55} but running like a bag of…

Picked up my car today from the docks :hyper::dance::dance::dance: On my way home - almost home actually - and pull up next to another white Zed on a 'W' plate !! Beautiful car with graphite R34 GTR alloys. Only inconsistency was the early spoiler (Series 2 or 3 maybe). Is this the latest plated Zed ? Wish I'd snapped a pic or two !

Right got round to fitting the new exhaust today, what a PAIN IN THE BUTT!! I don't think the fact it's gotten bent in transit helps, so the passenger side back box, touches the diff and HICAS unit :( managed to "bodge" it for now until I can get it fettled and sitting right. This car is really beginning to try my patience, so far the only thing that's gone right is changing the steering wheel. Ho Hum. The old exhaust is knackered, so sorry to those of you that wanted to buy it, it's gone where the pipe work joins the back box, and the flanges that join the 2 sections together have had it to. Spotted it last night around 9pm "M" reg. Heavilly modified electric blue and some of the bodykit was black it was seriously different :rofl: Not sure how else to describe it Has anyone else seen it around East London :confused:

Upholsterer? I need to get the leather seat/cushion part of my drivers seat either repaired or replaced. I can't find a decent one near me so I thought i'd ask on here :)

As above really. Started the car today and the engine was running very rough and causing vibrations. The cone filter (K+N) is not fully covered as the car's not got a bumper on at the moment and it's been peeing it down this morning :D car was running fine the other day. cheers dave

right im well confused as to what to try and save for my current list of suspension components are: powertrix front upper link arms powertrix front tension rods. now as my z is a non turbo im confused which bushes i can/need to replace or what kit i need? im also looking for a solution for my upper shock mount rubbers is there an alternative for these either polyurethane or pillow ball mount options for standard shock spring setup (albeit being aftermarket shocks and springs)

Went to wembely yesterday to watch drifting, jdm allstars and they had a wide body 300zx there on display .Im sure ive seen it before years ago i think it was an old se nissan car apprantenly it has 600 bhp any one now it reg c4sh f .Think it was advertising some kream body kits never heard of them.

I'm thinking about re-doing some upholstery in leather on the interior, my first thought would be where to get the leather from, does anybody have any experience with this and could give me some names of people/companies who can supply me. Regards Ric
