Hey guys, i'm a member of midlandshonda.co.uk and own a 1998 2.0 prelude. I love hondas but love all jap cars! I've recently changed jobs and decided to buy a 'toy' for the weekend towards the end of the year, i will keep the prelude as my work car. After making a short list of an r34 skyline gtt, a twin turbo supra, or a twin turbo 300 zx, i've decided to go for a zx :xxx: i've had a look on the buying guides on here and there mega helpful, but are there any points to look out for? Also, are there different wheelbase's depending on models? Any help appreciated guys!

Right, I'm a slight bit closer to going for a full window transplant (JDM bronze to UK green). Now, the T-tops have a stippled effect finish on the underside of the glass. It appears to have a similar grade of tint to the windows. Is UK t-top glass different to JDM t-top glass in terms of tint? If it is, can the t-tops be swapped over to a UK car? I understand they are of slightly different design, but can't remember if just using the UK t-top glass on a JDM car would cause fitment problems? Ta

After 10 long, sometimes great, sometimes frustrating years of Z ownership, it's time to say goodbye  A coolant leak has prompted me to take my car to PhilZ for repair, plus an MOT. I usually get the MOT done a day or two before it's due, however, seeing as the car was going to the garage I may as well have it done a bit early. It turns out that the coolant leak is just a split hose, but the problem is it has failed the MOT quite badly. Apparently, the sills are rusted rught through; I was completely unaware of any of this, as the body kit is hiding the corrosion from view. I now have 3 weeks to get rid of the car - I'm frantically looking for good s…

At last its done, Jimmer managed to squeeze me in and do my clutch yesterday. I have had the boost turned right down to try and stop it slipping and been driving like a one legged, one eyed vicar. Boring, boring. Now......its 'turn up the volume' well actually its the boost I turned up and typically I left Jimmer in bright sunshine and with in 5 minutes it started raining, @#+*&$%. drove home like a one legged one eyed vicar. The weather forecast for the weekend is looking OK so a quick burst with 21 psi being applied will be the order of the day which will hopefully blow away my dog collar. Thanks Jimmer, sorry about the soldering.:hyper:

Was droppin a pal off today and we got chatting about me zed, it was sat at side of road gleaming as we drove off past it, he said that it was a lovely example of one and asked if it was running good still etc , blah blah etc, any way we got a few miles farther on and a new audi a5 coupe thing with huge wheels pulled out and i said that it looked nice, he agreed but went on to say that he preferred my cars looks, and that that audi would not age as well as the zed, and i totally totally agree.......we then got on to the fact that the first time we ever saw a zed we were blown away by the looks, and could both vividly remember the time and place where we first saw one, sur…

Hi everyone, Am new to to 300zxs, and new to turbo engines, having always had NA cars before. Am in the market to buy one however. Went to view a car tonight, and the boost was sat on 0 at idle, not on -14 (well the gauge read -7 to +7) as the buyers guide says it should. It also seemed to be missing slightly, and running a bit rich (smell of petrol from exhaust fumes). I take I should walk away from this and look elsewhere?

Stolen from reallymeansounds.com, who stole it from sxoc...which in turn was stole from some evo forum: How To Tune Your Greddy Profec B spec II Before you begin, you should have an idea of what you're aiming for. For EVOs, 19psi (131 kPa) seems to be a safe setting based on what people on the forums have found since it is close to what the stock boost pressure is, yet there is an increase in power due to the Greddy unit keeping the boost close to 19psi while the stock boost tapers off as the RPMs increase. I will henceforth refer to what you're aiming for as "desired boost pressure". Definitions and things you need to know before you start: SET …

Well folks, after much thought recently the car will be going for an engine rebuild with Andy Duff. Andy sourced parts for me from z1 and sent me the information on everything required with forged pistons etc. So i am just waiting to hear back from him on the final gasket sizes etc to get. He will be rebuilding an engine he alreayd has so that i can just take my car down to him and just have the engines swopped over, and he is able to do it basically ASAP for me and have it done and back to me before the 19th august which is when i go on holiday..........as you can guess im extremely excited. Hes been a great guy and very very very helpful and comes highly recommende…

I've cut the hole in the dash above the audio/heater surround, however I can't get the fibreglass gauge mount to sit flat. I've had a good look at it and the hole doesn't seem to be stopping it from sitting correctly, I'm wondering if the gauge mount is warped. I've tried calling Luke at Zcentre but he's away until the 27th. Can fibreglass warp? Is there anything I can do or do I just have to wait for Luke to get back? Any advice would be appreciated. cheers dave
