I’d love to put mine forward to represent the club and there’s also lots of members I’d like to nominate! Can the bios or features be on a rotating basis to allow more coverage of other cars and maybe have different categories? For example you could have the show section as proposed but also have other sections for track weapons, project cars, daily drivers, rare beasts etc to cover all corners of the member base.

Are we allowed to nominate and then you message them to proceed?

It has gone pretty wild, there’s already lots of posts on there! Now we just have to balance the traffic, it being busy isn’t a bad thing as it’s just taking people’s attention that we’re already on there but I think the trick is now to throw in the odd thread with a specific link to the club forum. Out of curiosity, what’s the difference between a “secret group” and a “closed group”? I’m guessing it’s now not publicly searchable? I would suggest it show up on a group search much the same as you want the club website the top hit on google.

Can we change it to a group or add another one as a group? Because of the lack of activity, even when something is added to it, it doesn’t appear on my feed! Maybe give it the title of “UK 300zx Owners Club and friends”. It will soon gather momentum as we invite people and we can post links to the club forums regularly along with the general chit chat. The cover photo should be the club logo. I just don’t think updating a page that very few people ever visit is generating enough interest whereas if it’s open to post on then it will generate its own interest. The “what did you do today” thread was successful due to its here and now philosophy which Facebook is great at capturing, I seriously think we need to embrace that and cash in on it.

Can we make the club Facebook page a closed group that we can all post on? I don’t wish for the club to be lost within the many Facebook groups but if we don’t embrace it we’re missing out on lots of free advertising. I know it’s extra work to monitor etc but I think it’ll be a great tool to direct traffic onto the club forums and I’m sure members of the new sub committee would be more than happy to help.

I love the way the colour reflects lights differently from different angles. In some lights it looks so pale and mysterious and yet in others it becomes dark and classy [emoji41]

None of the red will be visible once all the exterior and interior trim has been refitted.

Interesting thoughts there Pete. In an ideal world, you would have a journal thread for your build and whatever you do to it could go in both that thread and the “what did you do” thread (if it was still open!)

I still get this from Lancaster every year at renewal, and if you use their online quote system the club still doesn’t show up in the drop down menu!
