loads of breakers lately?
If your really happy with the car and it is sorted mechanically and bodily, I would convert it to a manual. Better the devil you know. :)

Engine out

Liam Concannon aka cona2k
Sadly the old bill will just take details and say that they will get back to you, but they won't say when, or that it's very very low priority. Best thing is if you get his address, issue a County Court Summons, they then have to pay or turn up in Court and say. If they ignore it, go for the Judgement which gives them another 14 days to pay, and then send round the Bailiffs to take goods to the value. It works.

My Baby....
Happy for you Lisa, I am delighted you are back on the road, I know how gutted you were when nobby went into the back of you. Look forward to seeing it again, sparkling.

This car is grinding me down !
Absolutely right Paul. I do not know if I have been lucky or what but I am on my third Zed and all have been great. The first one I bought off Ebay without seeing in the flesh from a guy in Belfast. a slippery b+++++d he was and a well known drifter too, a bit of a Luney. The auto gearbox was suspect and me and Jimmer did a manual comversion after which it turned out to be a great car, and I drive them hard, on the track and on the road. The same now with my latest Zed, it gets the same treatment up and down to Derby from Bristol on a regular basis in less than 2 hours. I cannot resist them although with 18" wheels and shallow rubber they are a bit harsh. That said tho' reliability wise no probs, but you must keep on top of fluid checks etc., but what a rewarding drive, totally worth the expensive mpg. :)

Exemplary Service
Spot on Smithy, pure jealousy from fly pitchers. When I have had problems, Jeff has couriered multiple items down to Bristol FOC for me to try to sort the problem out, as you said, its good to see recognition of service beyond the norm.

Conversion from auto to manual
That is everyones comment after having the conversion done, it really does make a big difference although an auto when performing right is a cracking drive. Sadly the Nissan box was never up to the task of coping with that amount of power. They reckon the later boxes were better as Nissan carried out some mods, anyone had any experience of a late automatic Zed, say 95 ish on, if so what do you think about the auto box.

Item's for sale section doesn't make good reading
I do not know what the answer is to non supply by club members apart from taking court action as I have done to recover my money. I have obtained a judgement against this person now and if my money and court costs are not paid within a certain time, I will then request bailiff action which will certainly cost him dearly as it will increase his costs by about another £170. I hope he reads this as he has responded in this thread. I hope he also knows what effect a judgement will have in future.

Item's for sale section doesn't make good reading
What happened in the Graham Foley case then, he was reported to the police and they were not interested, just made a note I think. Its a bit like telling them that someone broke your window, they nod and say thanks for reporting it. You say that the club cannot get involved but I would hope if the aforementioned person reappeared on here selling goods, they would jump in to stop it. You have to remember that this is a 'club' which should have some loyalty attached to being a member, or are you saying that the membership fee just covers free advertising and allowing fraudulent activities. Any outsider reading this would be appalled.

Item's for sale section doesn't make good reading
Yes I did and Shunter also tried to contact the person without any luck, well actually he just ignored the both of us, and then another committee member ask this person if he could run the barbecue at the AGM.

Item's for sale section doesn't make good reading
It sounds as though your saying that it is OK for members to rip other members off and then carryon doing so or engaging in club activities as though everything is alright. If the club does not want any responsibility they either do away with the 'items for sale' section or allow a 'name and shame' section to warn others and stop as in my experience a fraudulent activity by a club member, i.e I paid for something and never received the goods.

Item's for sale section doesn't make good reading
When I mentiioned this a couple of weeks ago after waiting since June 14th for some items to turn up and the member was ignoring me and Shunter (Neil) I was inforned that it was a 'private matter' and that the club could not help, so their you are, your on your own. In fact the annoying thing was that the person who ripped me off was being invited to run the clubs barbecue.?

Running in after rebuild
Shortly after Jimmer rebuilt his engine with Wiseco pistons, 555 injectors and a set of larger turbos, he was on the rolling road knocking out 426 bhp and slipping down the M5 doing O my god miles per hour. He still drives it hard. If it rebuilt right, with todays engineering quality and materials, it don't need running in, but you do just need to keep an eagle eye out for any fluid leaks, just in case.

Fan in the roof panel......what does it do ?
I have to admit that it is not making any noise which suggests that it's probably seized. I will take it off tho' and have a look. When workin properly does it cause the heater blower fan to slow up when the desired temp is reached.?
-
Fan in the roof panel......what does it do ?
The small fan fitted inside the roof panel I thought was for sensing the cars cockpit temperature and adjusting the heater blower accordingly to maintain a consistant temperature. Is this correct and does it also apply when running your aircon. When I put my aircon into 'auto' mode, it blows a gail all of the time and then freezes your nuts off. Should it be also controlled by this roof fan.

IOW INFO THREAD (no chit chat)
Sorry chaps and chappess's, but I will not be coming due to taking a tumble in a furniture shop on Bank Holiday Monday, and landing on my left arm. I am still off work at the mo' and feeling grim about it.

Tuned engine, who's selling?
Why not contact Henstead Motorsport, their reputation is at stake here ! they are agreeing to sell it / be involved on behalf of this punter, i.e., take the money for it after the auction.

woo hoo nearly there :)
What has been done to the car besides the plenum and of course the wheels ???

- best oil for my tt manual gearbox
Can you buy it over here ?- Engine Electric Cooling Fan
Oh B****x, I must have another problem as well - Engine Electric Cooling Fan
When carrying out the test to check your Electric Cooling fan is working, i.e., disconnect the water temp sensor, turn ignition on, and the fan should cut in, if OK that is. should it run continually then until you switch off, or only momentarily as mine does. It runs for about 2 seconds and then turns off. Has the relay gone faulty ??- Anyone put a harness seat belt on the standard seats??
I have just taken a set out of my car because when strapped in you cannot operate the stereo or lean forward to look back through the rear quarter lights on bad junctions. Also when trying to pay at parking machines you have to undo them. - best oil for my tt manual gearbox
