  1. What sort of garage was that, you really need a good tyre supplier / fitter with the laser alignment equipment to get a proper job done. The difference is spectacular.
  2. ZXRACER had a 'recon' box with receipts for sale on here CHEAP, the only problem is he is down south, Crewekern to be precise but it was very cheap, so cheap in fact that I might convert mine from manual to auto just to get a bargain !
  3. At least their more economical on the back of a lorry.
  4. It could be electrical so do an automatic gearbox check via the ECU. It is outlined in the manual. Normally it is mechanical failure that causes your symptoms and requires a replacement box. In the items for sale, 'ZXRACER' has a recon one going really cheap and it includes the receipt for the work.
  5. Firstly check your gearbox oil level and the state of the oil for cleanliness. If it is cloudy then your filter is blocked and probably your valve block as well. They can be cleaned out by removing your gearbox oil pan, not a nice job. Frankly it sounds like your box is on the way out. By the way there is not a governor fitted.
  6. Oooooooh, that does not sound good, in fact from previous expeience it sounds £££££££££££££'s.
  7. I think we have missed the date to let the show organisers know so it would only be as a visitor.
  8. Another problem to check is your interior light door switches, they sometimes seem to not always turn the light off.
  9. 2. old zed (John)
  10. Whats the latest on this show. Is there going to be a 300ZX presence or not, it all seems a bit quiet, or is the weather putting people off.
  11. Just got back from Gran Canaria and I certainly saw it out there. Must be on its holidays too !
  12. Not a good situation to be in when driving briskly. I am leaning towards a smooth tail unless I can find a neat smaller type spoiler. I have also just purchased some normal J-spec door mirrors which will also improve vision.
  13. Its pretty loud inside David, my grandson said it hurt his ears at one point.!
  14. I am quite happy with the front, it that bookshelf on the back I need to sort. The wheels are acceptable but I certainly would not have chosen 3 spokes myself.
  15. They do a nice lip spoiler on the old soarer but probably too narrow for a Zed.
  16. Yes Tom it was Sashas and is quite distinguished I supposed.
  17. Thats it then Si, 99 spec lights it is, how about a 99 spec spoiler or shall I go smooth tail.
  18. I am not sure what spoiler it is but it will shortly be for sale on here.
  19. Sadly I am not quite sure what has been done as nothing is documented. It is fitted with some expensive kit such as FCON and RVIC ECUs by a company in Oxford called Owen Developements which now tune manufacturers Rallye cars. A recent dyno run and it is currently overfueling produced 383 Bhp. It does go very well but is fitted with standard brakes, which are as usual grim. A set of 350z racing discs are going to be fitted which Jimmer (my son) has on his car and they really do stop it well and his is knocking out 426 bhp.
  20. Thanks David, the wheels have grown on me but the spoiler which absolutely blots out rear view vision has not done so and the same with the HKS exhaust, it really is noisey and I think looks unbalanced only having one pipe out the back. A visit to Infinity Exhausts and a twin pipe system with a couple of good size ovals poking out the back will improve the looks, and the noise.
  21. It won't David, its sound as a pound, go for it. I wish I could come but I will be on holiday then 1000's of miles away, besides Jimmer will blow most people away with his DIY jobber. I watched him install a box of Swan Vestas and a packet of fire lighters in his plenum, frightening.
  22. Disowned..... and that's permanent. I need to adopt a proper son. He knows jolly well what the tartan rug is for ?
  23. This car is well known in the SW to club members and is now in my ownership. As with all new toys you want to change them to reflect your own personallity. Initially I did not like the 3 spoke Advan wheels but they have started to grow on me, and besides they all have good rubber on, for now. When their a bit worn I may decide to change both the wheels and the tyres, undecided as yet. The main bone of contention is the rear spoiler which is......huge, and totally blocks the rear view which coupled with the very stylish mirrors which I can also see feckall out of makes driving quick very tenuous as you cannot spot the old bill until he is right on your tail. The exhaust is an HKS Superdragger which sounds like a WWII Shackleton Bomber flying just over your head. You certainly dont want to be coming home late with this exhaust or even worse leaving early in the morning, not if you still want to be talking to your neighbours. Anyway here are some pics and I am definitely changing to a quieter twin pipe system and thinking about going smooth tail. What do you think lads...
  24. Thanks mate, I thought I was being thick................. :headvswal
  25. How do you add stuff to your rides section, my user control panel does not seem to have an edit rides button.
