One thing to never do in life...
Is any job on a Zed easy ? I don't think so but they are worth it, if you can afford it.

could i do a manual conversion myself
Graham, you will need flywheel + bolts, clutch + bolts, spigot for crankshaft as it is different on the manual, propshaft, gearbox, clutch master and slave + piping, pedal (clutch), gear stick + mounting plate, 2 rubber boots, leather interior boot + fixing frame and 4 screws. Me & son (jimmer) started mine at 9.30am and I was driving it home at 4pm. You do not need any looms.

e-mail help
I get similar sort of messages, but some carry share information about obscure companies which they want to bull up and get people to buy shares. When that happens, the price rises and someone somewhere makes a killing. Some of them advertise 'penis enlargement' cream which could be useful. That said a friend of mine tried some and the fingers on his right hand grew 4 inches. On a more sober note, I don't think there is much you can do. If you can reply I always send enormous emails back hoping to jam their mailbox, but first do a tester with a normal one to see if it gets returned. Sorry Daveman, not much help, but you are not alone.

Moving to Germany have car questions...
You might like to have a look around this site http://www.jpoc.net/index.html which hosted by a Brit who has worked and lived there for several years. He is into cars etc., not Zeds tho', but you can also email him with any questions on any topic to do with living and working in Germany. He is a real freindly guy. Good luck.

Woohoo!
Leave the keys mate, I'll keep the battery topped up.

not boostin!
I would do an ECU check to see if there are any problems coming up. If the detonator sensor is faulty (code 34 I think) then you will be on half boost. Very often its the loom to the sensor that fails, and it could be that which is now breaking down, intermitantly.

Cutting out?!?!
I would certainly check the cable from your PTU to your CAS unit on the front of the engine as they tend to suffer from corrosion. A good clean up will eliminate that area. It could also be your PTU as the early ones were prone to failure when hot.

thinkin if sellin Zed??
Si, be a bit more understanding mate. When you were having engine problems you wanted to sell it too, now its sorted your happy with it again and you have plans for it. They can be a bit of a black hole financially when it comes to keeping them running properly. It's been said before, a car that gives supercar performance does need special attention and that costs money. I think most people that buy them purely on looks and known performance, do not realise the cost of ownership. There was an article in last weeks sunday times about supercars, and quoted the front bumper on a Lambhorgini Gallada as costing over £8000 to replace excluding labour for fitting. I think most people look at the number plate, H, or J or K etc., and think because they are relatively old they are easy and cheap to fix. What a mistake. As a matter of interest, what would you have done if both the engines you ended up with were totally w****d.

8ollocks! Put some very light kerbing on one of my rims!
Si, there is a wheel specialist down by the dogs home. If you head up the A4 past Temple Meads, go past Quick Fit (very fast as their crap) through the lights and the next set of lights is by a bridge on the left crossing the river. Go left over the bridge and turn left again. About a 100 yds on the left. Sorry I cannot remember their name but they are apparently very good.

TT engine problems!
I thought that if you bought from an auction, any auction, then once you examined and bid on it, then it is yours and no matter what happens after that there is no liability on behalf of the seller. Thats the whole point of auctioning an item, it final.

Replacement turbos
I would be tempted to get a compression test done, wet and dry, just to eliminate any compression related problems, i.e rings, valves, pistons etc.

300zx insurance suddenly skyrockets!!
try confused.com which apparently are comming back with some really cheap quotes. The form to fill out prior to their search is a bit of a pain.

chris @ getgreddy mail
Thats brilliant, then all us registered users should stop using them then. I don't think they would like that much would. Not a good statement.
-
What you reckon ?
Surely you would only do that if you had a reserve to meet, and once it was met your chums should bail out otherwise they could end up being the highest bidder and the seller would have to relist it, which does not seem to hit the same levels second time around.
-
What you reckon ?
You might be all laughing at this cock, but he has certainly got some strong bidding on what is a chavmobiled automatic Zed, and it hasnt finnished yet. There are some people on here that would have liked to have got that sort of money for their cars, some of them with manual boxes as well.

nissan 300zx 1990 import
What tyre pressures are you running, if too high that can give you a bumpy ride.
-
Where can I buy
Its all hype anyway, a decent 10w30 oil by a major oil company will work just as well, and bearing in mind the manual recommends changing it every 6 months, unless of course you want the Millers label to stick under the bonnet for show.

***at Last***
I would also do an EGR bypass, they usually get blocked and don't work anyway. It less to go wrong and easier to remove the plenum.
-
fookin ouch!!
Blimey Si, does that affect your eatin ? you'll be down to 8 stone in no time.
-
Who fancy's chipping in for this?
That has gotta be a 'back to the future' type experience. It would probably cost quite a bit more to develope the flame tube and convert to diesel, that is why its so cheap.

any news on peru bumper?
Who was supposed to be following this up, its a cracking bumper.
