  1. yep, sure is...........
  2. That is just what I have been thinking about doing but where would you fit them to make then easily accessible. I intended to come into the bottom of the headlamp as there is a round hole in the plate underneath it.
  3. A good idea as long as it is sealed well at the back.
  4. Will post some up soon........ :)
  5. Sadly with the twin induction kit and the front mount it is pretty full up, even after taking the induction bits out.
  6. My latest car I am told is fitted with an AB Flug front bumper and the side & flasher light assemblies are fitted behind it with a plastic lens screwed in front to make it look better visually. To change a bulb is a nightmare, i.e. remove bumper which as you know is not a 10 minute job. Does anyone know what lights would fit in the aperatures provided that could then be removed from the front without having to take the bumper off. :(
  7. If you think you can hear a leak (hissing) and can locate the general area, spray possible leak spots with WD40 and it should bubble nicely. Also cleans up nice afterwards.
  8. I should have swapped the exhaust with the one on my latest Zed Dave, and then Karen could have heard when you were coming home.
  9. I have just had my TT Import Air Con recharged by a local garage and they had to change the valves on the system so it would fit their machine. It only cost £50 including labour plus £50 for the flush and recharge of the system. Is it normal to have to change these adaptors on the air con system on imports to enable them to fit UK equipment.
  10. Are we going to organise some sort of local meeting place and then go in convoy to Castle Coombe, or is it everyone for theirselves and see you there on the stand.

Sun is fine with me but flexible.

As its local surely we can muster a 'crowd' at least and if the weather is good its a bonus, but a drink sounds good to me. Are you thinking of a sat or sun Anna.
  13. Lee One thing to take into consideration is the cost of tyres, I had 19"s and they are about 70% more expensive than 18"s. John
  14. Thanks David, I ended up slicing through the boss on the cat and inserting a wide chisel, they gave in gently and are now installed in the new (secondhand) cats. The rest of the exhaust is a Scorpion and sounds great. Hoping to get to Castle Combe with it in May. John
  15. I want to replace the cats, which I already have, although I do have a decat front end. As stated before, my car has done a fairly high mileage (70K) and feel that to decat now would probably lead to the turbos giving up the ghost.I have left them soaking in some release fluid and will try some heat on them whilst having a graunch this weekend. Will the car run without these sensors, and are they easy to change if I feck 'em up getting them out.
  16. I dare not decat it with the mileage, the turbos would definitely give up.
  17. I am having to change my exhaust including the catalystic converters and cannot get the sensors out from them. They are a peculiar size and do not fit well in the metric spanner chosen and have now had to try stilsons, which is chewing them up. Has anyone got some sort of novel way of getting these b******s out, without damaging them, or are new ones reasonably priced and easy to fit. Do they connect into the ECU ??
  18. I had my ECU upgraded by Zedworld with the fitting of a JWT chip and 1mm boost jets, the difference was significant throughout the range. They described it as a soft chip, i.e., not too aggressive and still driveable around town. It did not seem to affect fuel consumption by much either. Well pleased.
  19. Hi Mark, when do you propose to actually carryout the buy, I am interested but I need an exhaust pretty quickly as car is currently off the road. John
  20. Sounds like a misfire to me which sorts itself out as it warms up.It would give the impression of a vibration if it were missing on perhaps one or two cylinders.
  21. You state 'got it back', from where ? do you mean a garage ? I would take it straight back and let them know you are not happy, the sooner the better.
  22. I used an N/A clutch pedal in my TT conversion and physically the pedal is shorter than the brake pedal not longer. If possible get the proper pedal and a booster system, it makes for a better car in the traffic. That is from experience.
  23. You will need to change the bell housing from your TT gearbox to the NA box for it to fit. The clutch is a matter of choice but that said if your pushing out that sort of power, I would definitely install an uprated clutch. Even on a standard car they can slip under harsh treatment. When doing the conversion you will have to remove the torque convertor and mounting plate from the rear of the engine. You will also have to change the spigot bush as they are different sizes on the manual. It then that you should change the rear crankshaft oil seal, they are only cheap (£13 ish) and can only be changed with the gearbox out or when the engine is removed. You might want to get a TT clutch pedal as the NA is slightly shorter which may affect pressure as less leaverage but also very noticeable once mounted alongside the brake pedal.
  24. I had that problem with a faulty indicator/dip beam stalk.
