  1. We are all working hard, well sort of, to keep the twin turbo cash dispensor on the road. ;)
  2. How cheap can you do it ? Surely this will be down to your expenses, i.e., overheads for premises and equipment etc., unless of course you plan to work out the back of a van, have jack will travel. The other decider will be the competition in your area and surely you are not planning to make a living purely on Zed repairs, especially in the beginning when you are establishing yourself. In the longer term you may be able to be like Zedworld, but that will most cretainly take years, and with rising costs, fuel and insurance etc., and additional taxes being piled on us by government, most zed owners will find the coming years financially challenging and if like most is a second car, it will end up being left in the garage.I wish you good luck with your intentions.
  3. If you go for the 350Z racing discs they are 340mm diameter and you will need blocks to reposition the caliper. Jimmer has done that on his zed and the difference is phenominal. Definitely recommended on any Zed, modified or standard.
  4. One of the biggest problems is expectations. You can now buy a Zed for the price of a 10 year Mondeo unfortunately most people think the servicing costs will (should) be the same, yet in the next breath they will call it a 'supercar' and liken it to a Porche, Ferrari etc., Supercar servicing costs are in the region of £250 an hour, which is a lot of money, and a Zed is as complicated as these desirable vehicles and performs similarly. No one likes being ripped off but we should all appreciate the skills required to repair and service these cars properly, and be prepared to pay the price necessary for it to be done right. Nothing is infallable either and with these vehicles now around 15 years old or more, we need to get real about the chances of things failing and the costs of putting it right. We all like to know beforehand what things are going to cost but we should also be prepared for additional costs due to other items being worn or faulty and likely to fail, after all it is an old car. This I think is where most people end up falling out with their chosen garage. Performance comes at a price and so does peace of mind.
  5. Stick it on PistonHeads classified, its also free and will be seen by enthusiasts.
  6. I have 18" Advans on mine fitted with 245 fronts and 285 rears, but your are limited with the depth rating. They were originally fitted with 30's which gives a really harsh ride so I have gone up to 35's whiuch is much softer but with two up and cornering hard I am sure that it rubbed the arch although I can find no evidence. If fitting 17"'s you would not have a problem.
  7. Proposed. Divorced now tho'. It only lasted 30 years, you only get 15 for murder.
  8. JJP, that just gorgeuos. I have had cars with leather and velour, never tweed although I did drive Jimmers when he had tweed, but I do prefer the velour both for the summer advantages but also it does grip you better when cornering etc., The problem with Zed original leather is that although it is quite sturdy it tends to suffer from damage quite quickly, also perhaps my leather was too well polished. I have had 2 cars with velour and both have been mint in the upholstery department.Tweed although that looks sturdy also tends to fall apart or look dirty with age.
  9. Whats the next step Marcus.? Is that Shunters old car BTW.?
  10. He rang me earlier to ask if he could have 'old zed junior'. Have a good night dave.
  11. Your not that far from Zedworld in Tamworth 01827 259222 or website http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzc.html they are always breaking about 25 to 30 cars and all parts are tested. they will even fit and setup properly. Give them a ring they are very user friendly.
  12. Try Infinity Exhausts, that's where I got mine done. A real top job in stainless steel, 10 year warranty and very neat underneath. Sounds nice too. You can tell them how loud or quiet you want it, how many pipes out the back and what size. Its tailored to your requirements. http://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/
  13. If you have an email address, reply with as many attachments (pics of cars) as you can so as to block his mailbox. Publish his email on here and we will all send him an email with large attachments. You get 3 to 400 do that and his email system will be out of service for ages.
  14. I have 4K in mine Si, and they are pure white. I think the misconception of these lights is that the higher the power the better the light, and that is not the case.
  15. I might make this meet. I was hoping to have the engine out and with Jimmer for a refresh, but he is very busy with 'customers' work at the mo'. It's no fun being a dad.
  16. To my knowledge there is no distributor for AB Flug in the UK. I search last year when I was after some parts.
  17. When I seen the turbos that were being fitted, I was surpised the engine went back in the car. Jimmer says that it is a bit of a beast. Take it steady Shrek until the nicer weather arrives and then have fun.
  18. Your probably right but I think everyone still prefers a manual box anyway.
  19. You will be wasting your time and money as there is an entry fee and of course a selling fee which is a percentage of the selling value. Any vehicle that is put into a bonafide traders car auction by a private seller will be treated with suspicion, i.e., why are you not selling from an ad in the local paper,.........they will then assume that there is something wrong with it and either want it very cheap, or not be interested at all. Another problem you may encounter is that at some auctions, vehicles over 10 years old are sold without a reserve. Good luck.
  20. You will defo require the harness as the connector on it is smaller than on the original.
  21. I would think communication would be a problem with this suggestion and of course the transportation of the vehicle to and from the tuner in Japan, and then onwards to the docks.
  22. Speak to Jimmer, he has fitted a front mount to his car and has photos of various stages of the installation.
  23. I'm over 45 and due to be a pensioner soon. On my 3rd Zed and due to take the engine out soon for a refurb. Currently pushing out 386 bhp on standard turbos and injectors, but this might have to change especially after seeing what Jimmer recently fitted to a customers Zed, and the results are scary.
  24. Probably a suspicious looking geeza. ;)
