  1. Now you have mentioned this, they will magically re-appear, all hurt and indignant and demanding it stays as it is. I think they are all miffed about having to subscribe to see all the sections on the website, I mean £20 is a lot of money.....................................not. They were just keyboard wizards and have probably turned into a load of duffers. (Not you Alan ;))
  2. Well done Murt, young blood is always more energetic and a volunteer as well.:)
  3. As no time or place was posted, how can anyone go ?
  4. So you didnt go either. Blimey Murt I though you and Marcus were mates etc.,
  5. I wish them luck Mark, as you know these cars can either make a good reputation or bad one, they are so over engineered it can cause a host of problems when being worked on.
  6. Detonation is not as simple as you have outlined, it can be caused by worn or badly setup injectors, a weak fuel mixture and even excess carbon deposits in the combustion chamber. Whats a boost valve timing controller.??
  7. I think that they are all *******s to get out unless you have a press. I have changed mine for the solid type in the hope that I will never change them again.
  8. Before you start getting the glums when thinking about an injector being down, get hold of a spare injector connector complete with about 150mm of wire connected to it. Fit this to the injector that is not firing properly, and touch the wires across the terminals of the little squareish 9V battery, the type with both terminals on the top. If the injector is OK it will click everytime you connect / disconnect one lead, if it don't click, then its faulty.

That looks absolutely brilliant, well done lads, twas a shame about the distance.
  10. Iwas trying to find a village called Chedder, but I could only find Cheddar, but there was no one their in Zeds. As Marcus originally put the wrong date on this (18th) perhaps him and Gezz went yesterday.
  11. They did not count for anything in the past under Ryan, lets hope the new owners really mean business.
  12. Its a treasure hunt mate, you have got to try and work out the time and place.
  13. What concerns me is that this Government has tended to let shitty things come out as a rumour just to soften the blow, and 'bang' its brought in on the statute books. I cannot see it happening as they would have to pay you some sort of compensation (a buy back type of scheme) and they would be losing out on the road tax, and as most are second cars they would not be replaced, and also they would lose the tax on the insurance premium. I just hate muppets who put up these ideas that politicians then think might be a goer.
  14. Only joking. Mine is running rich apparently all through the range, the guy thinks it may be to do with the AVC-R, so I ran 372.??? it does not matter, which is less than before when it was 386, so something requires sorting obviously but I loth to start playing with the settings on the AVC-R as the handbook keeps giving you warnings of dire injuries when adjusted wrongly. Lisa's car ran totally smooth with a cracking result, which actually topped off a brilliant day and included a superb roast dinner at a local pub. Hooray for Lisa and thanks for yet another great event / meet. Below are some pics which includes another disappointment. The hotrod which had a rather large blower fitted + nitrous and no exhaust to speak about, which I think everyone thought was going to blow them all away only made 194bhp ?? The winner is the Evo8 (new) which was kicking out a rather grand 508 bhp.
  15. I haven't got them yet Lisa, when you whipped yours out of the printer, it caught fire and they are posting mine on when they get it repaired.;)
  16. An item on Piston Heads from the RAC Foundation is suggesting to the Government that this would be a good idea. What the fook do they think will happen with classic cars then, as there would never be any more if this proposal was accepted. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=18825
  17. If you fit a wide arch kit you can have one of those racing type filler caps or a circular polished aluminium type, but on the standard Zed I think what you got is about it, unless of course someone knows different.?
  18. As a registered user he probably cannot respond to for sale ads, or can he ?
  19. When I converted my first Zed from auto to manual, it was fitted with a JWT chipped ECU and everything was fine.
  20. Jimmer uses Turbo Dynamics and has never had any probs.
  21. Sadly they are expensive to maintain / modify but very rewarding afterwards and they don't take problems like overheating well either. The bases of the thread is about changing turbos, and I think that people need to be aware that if you upgrade them, other components will need upgrading, i.e., injectors, ECU chip and in some cases your head gasket. If you start upping your boost as a result of fitting larger turbos, standard head gaskets have been known to fail. You sound as though you done it right. have you had a different chip fitted in your ECU to cope with the 555's.
  22. They will live and learn Mark, that changing turbos is not as straightforward as it seems.
  23. You need to be careful with tubs Alan so take some time to search the net before deciding. Speak to Jimmer as he has fitted loads now including my GT500's which I bought from Z1. You will have probably seen on here that one failed within a couple of weeks and less than 350 miles. It took a lot of work by Jimmer speaking to Russell who is the owner of Z1 to get them to send $500 over towards the cost of changing it. (They supplied a new turbo core under warranty). Peanuts in the scheme of things. The other thing you need to consider is if you increase the size / power of your turbos, which I did only by a little bit, you can max your injectors out which causes detonation which means you then have to up your injector size. I have Nismo 555's waiting to go in but of course it does not end there. I have had to get my ECU socketed and chipped to cope with the larger injectors. My advice is get them local, stay the same size, and perhaps have 360 deg bearings fitted.
  24. Any prices yet for the RR, or have I missed something.
  25. I wish I could Si, so does Donna I think.
