What Tires Should I Buy?
DONT buy Avon ZR's series, they are absolutely rubbish on anything but absolutely dry conditions, and they wear quickly, like 3000 miles and illegal. I was shocked when my son dived under the car one day and then pronounced that my back tyres were almost bald, and then I was pleased because I could replace them with something better, Dunlop Sport, superb. front crossmember
My apologies, wrong crossmember. get the grinder and welder out matey.
-
front crossmember
That don't sound right. The front crossmember has to be dropped to take the engine out and that does not require grinding any welds off, besides is it then welded back in.

Has the credit crunch affected you?
Apart from fuel costs and food costs, I don't seemed to have felt the effects yet, no doubt it will eventually filter down and affect us all in some way or another. It will be interesting to see if this Government still goes ahead with the proposed road tax increases on cars registered after 2001 planned for March 2009. I would imagine that about then we could be in recession and also reeling from possible Council Tax inceases (as normal) and of course bills from the recently announced energy charge increases.

New clutch fitted - thanks Jimmer
That was the intention but having drove Jimmers again recently, it is so light and he really gives his car some stick and the clutch is just great. Its been in about 2 years. Sasha had the RPS clutch put in mine, but I do not know when it went in. It was still very usable and is now in Daves (Legraths) car. I bought an Exedy track clutch and lighweight flywheel which was just as well as my RPS lightweight flywheel had worn segments from the shitty Z1motorsport road racing clutch. Its was only in 4 months and totally w@nked. I have never had that happen to a clutch in any other car before.

Another invitation to join us
He does have a Zed, or something like it as I have seen it under the cover, and that's whilst he driving it.

New clutch fitted - thanks Jimmer
Back to normal at last, I can now gun it again after recent weeks of pussyfoot driving as the clutch which was only about 5 months old and 3000 miles was slipping. Another disappointing buy from Z1motorsport. One of the best things about my new clutch is how light it is on the pedal. My previous 2 clutches, the 1st an RPS max and the 2nd a Z1 road clutch, were as heavy as fook. Tha latter also fooked my RPS lightweight flywheel which I had anticipated when I bought the new Exedy track clutch and I also bought their version of the lightweight flywheel. It took 2 hours to complete with me holding the lamp and Jimmer juggling the spanners. He was not much of host tho' as he never even offered me a coffee.;) So new clutch in, weather appalling, and a strong desire to drive the beast, but not in this. I have got my new tension rods, the solid type now currently residing in the boot of the Zed so I might as well fit them one night instead. Profec B on the way so another job and of course Nismo 555's awaiting fitting - by Jimmer. Spare ECU away with you know who for socketing and a chip. Oh well spring won't be long.

Air filled shock absobers
Thats a job for this weekend. To clean them up and see if they still have a manufacturers label on them.
-
Air filled shock absobers
My car handles very well but is a bit hard on the ride especially as I am on 18's and 35 profile tyres. Having driven Jimmers car a few times, it's on the same rubber but his feels softer so it must be the shocks. Would some air make them softer or just lift it up a bit. It feels like it's on the stops.

front wheel moving
It could your tension rod bush mullared, you know those 'orrible liquidy filled things right in the front.

Air filled shock absobers
My Zed which I have owned now for a couple of years has air valves sticking up through the suspension mounts which todate I have never checked the pressure or connected them to a compressor. Unfortunately no paperwork came with the car on these items and thus I no jacksh#t about how to set them up or adjust them. Has anyone else got air shocks fitted or had experience of them. What I would like to know is what sort of pressure should they be set at for normal motoring and can you adjuct the ride height by increasing the pressure.

viscous fan
Try Zedworld in Tamworth, they have always got a load of Zeds for breaking and would only send you out a real solid one.

Just like this.

Conzult Problem
It sounds as though you have an old version of Conzult. Have you got the special connector etc., which has a small box with LED's on.
-
Exhaust Gaskets
I think as long as you have got a pattern for the correct size, yes you can, they certainly ain't nothing special.
