  1. It would obviously be an interference fit, i.e., need pressing in, but just in case you have been given the wrong item, I would measure its diameter, and the hole diameter in the crankshaft with a vernier. The difference should be no greater o.1mm (0.0004" in old money)
  2. As above Si, also they will probably require some sort of reference from them anyway. Well done tho' Si, there is nothing more sole destroying than when companies keep changing the goal posts without any consideration to its staff.
  3. Me and Jimmer have family down from up north for a housewarming etc., so sadly this weekend is busy.
  4. Is it misfiring or just sounding weird.? It sounds like an air leak / boost leak in my opinion. Could you carry out a boost leak test ? which would certainly highlight any problems there. I am of course assuming it's a twin turbo Z.
  5. Oooooh, a bit of authority, me backs gone all tingley.;)
  6. Fooooking 'ell, I have always had respect for the RAC, and I'm in it cos they cover the person and not the car..........how many cars can you have on it I ask ? but your saga is a total nightmare. I am sorry about your trouble Nick but glad I read your post. I think I will give Euro Cover a miss then !!!
  7. Does the light come on when you open the doors, if not on one side, just remove the screw from the rubber coated pressure switch in the door jamb, and see if the wire is missing off it. I would check bothsides first before taking any panels off.
  8. M2 in Gloucester Road near Horfied Prison are good both with advice and price. They also sell pre built processor units, motherboards, chips etc., nice thing is there local and you can talk to them or even pop your box in if you have problems getting it started after upgrade.
  9. Sounds like a rogue wire somewhere, probably an earth which is touching something metallic and sparking, earthing the light which makes it come on. It could be behind the door switches.
  10. Well done Gezz, good to hear it.:smash:
  11. I have fitted an 18 inch Advan with 245/35 tyre in the well. Obviously it sticks up higher than norm but at least it fits over my big brake kit.
  12. Sorry mate, but at least I got your attention.;)
  13. I like the bit about the 'new perspex strip, very cheap from ZCentre'....CHEAP ?? and you have to collect it.
  14. The new Alfa coupe more like.
  15. Only in America, the land of plenty.
  16. A crock of sh1t......
  17. Were all too frightened to fit one in case the missus sees how crap these cars are on fuel.
  18. Bad choice for a show.....Father Day. I was collected by chaufeur from home and taken over to Jimmers place, and then taken out for copious amounts of alcolhol followed by a steak and trimmings. Mrs Jimmer then drove me home feeling no pain. I have to say the journey home was better than the journey over by chaufeur, who was driving a grey Zed and who's boost gauge touched 21psi on the Portway. It took six and half minutes to cross Bristol.
  19. They are certainly stuck Paul, it's been there for months. Could be a cheap car. It looks they have lost interest.
  20. Thats sounds like where the CAS unit fits.
  21. The import garage has moved and the Zed is parked in the Automatic Gearbox repair forecourt. If you look closely you will note a scissor jack underneath probably holding the engine up. Obviously the gearbox has failed and they are either waiting for parts or looking for a good used one. Either way, as Si stated, it's been there a very long time. Oh, and by the way, it's an NA.
  22. Your right about the first bit, standard gauges being poor regarding true oil pressure, but the second bit, compression test ??? whats all that about. He says it is ruuning fine but a bit tappety. I would go to Halfords and get some of their jollop for lifters before stripping/replacing/paying a garage to do anything. The other thing you can do is to add a tin of engine flush, and drive it very carefully for about a 100 miles, drain and refill with fresh oil including a new filter. Sometimes the lifters get sludged up and this will shift that.
  23. Your certainly on the right road here, but I would be tempted to do it more often.
  24. Ah, the keyboard warriors, since the split they have all evaporated ?
  25. Why do I keep missing out when I call down.;)
