  1. The plug will have to be earthed to spark. If you have jumper leads, put the plug in to the coil pack as normal and then grip the plug bodywith one end of a lead and then other end to earth on the engine, turn engine over on the key and it should spark.
  2. That is a promising result. What have you done to the engine with regards to mods ?
  3. If your running increased boost then you are probably maxing out your injectors which will then cause detonation. Apart from changing your injectors to say 555's, the only other thing would be to reduce your boost pressure.
  4. Is your car standard or modified.
  5. I would be up for a visit down south too. Will visit the website and see what the crack is.
  6. It is obviously an electrical feed problem to the pump. Why not wire it direct in the car and firstly see if fuel comes out from the fuel filter and then reconnect and see if it will start.
  7. You could always change your wheels for some with a larger offset. My 18" Advans clear my big brake kit by about 40mm.
  8. I don't know what your position is within Z1, but beleive me the problems that I have encountered trying to convince your company that one of the supplied turbos had failed after just 450 miles, has been 'unbelievable', in fact my mechanic Jimmer who spends a lot of money with you was 'devastated' by your response, as he thought that he had built up a good working relationship with JT (Johnny Turbo). What a misconception that turned out to be, as the first sign of a problem, Mr Turbo evaporates and no longer answers the phone or returns calls.Shawn come on the scene and quickly hands me over to some guy from the turbo company who starts telling me to modify the oil feed pipes. I'm glad I did not listen to him as the engine would have been coming out for a third time and further costs involved. Your very well constructed website, does not portray the reallity of your poor if non existant customer service.
  9. Well, just to add insult to injury regarding the faulty turbo, Jimmer received an email today from Z1 asking if he had sent the old turbo back. What a bloody cheek, just so they can redo the damn thing and sell it on again. Z1 Motorsport, they are only interested in one thing.......... money.
  10. Sadly this seems to be a trait with car parts, and it even applies when the parts are fitted by a garage. It's a copout.
  11. Yep, we are up for a convoy but as everyone in the above mentioned response is from Bristol, perhaps we should meet more centrally, say Sainsbury's car park opposite the MoD at Abbey Wood and then shoot up the M32 to the M4. sadly they no longer sell Super Unleaded so top up before to go.
  12. I bought the turbos and oil feed pipes from Z1 at the same time. They used the oil feed pipes as an excuse to not warrant replacing the turbos. The oil feed pipe modification bit actually only applies to turbos fitted with proper bearings and not the bushed type. To be quite honest at this point I was considering replacing both of them with new turbos bought elsewhere and selling the old ones on Ebay.com as being purchased from Z1, done 450 miles and totally w@nked, just for the publicity. Their aftersales is unbelievably negative, i.e.non existant. Warranty to Z1means 'blame something else' or dont respond at all.:(
  13. Save your money Dan. I bought a pair of uprated turbos from them and one failed. they did not want to know. Forget JT, or Johny Turbo as he is known, when my turbo went tits up, he did not respond to 2 messages left and Shawn tried to convince me that something else was wrong with my engine, even though it had just been totally rebuilt with parts boughts from Z1. Some guy, a turbo specialist even told me that the oil feed pipe kit which had been bought from Z1 needed to be braized up and redrilled with a 0.5mm hole as too much oil was getting to the turbo. In the end they sent me a CHRA which is the core of a turbo, but the engine has to once again come out to fit it, can you afford to pay for this. Failed turbos are the stuff off reasonable mileage or decatting, this turbo had 450 miles, and they wriggled like a worm on a hook. To me, this is crap service and of course being overseas you will have to call them. They will not call you back, beleive me, I know from experience. What you buy will have NO warranty even if you spend £1000's with them.

'Pimp my ride' turns up at Legraths house and sorts his shortie out pronto.:D
  15. Too much juice at a BBQ could lead to a late start fellas, and also what about the driving sessions at CC. ?:(
  16. I have 11" rims fitted to the rear of my Zed and they protrude just outside the wheel arch meaning that they spray rubbish around the rear end all the time. I am considering having my rear arches rolled but would welcome your comments on getting this done. If you have had it done, some pics would be be appreciated, and also whether you are happy with the result. Does anyone know of an 'arch roller' in the South West.
  17. Well........do we meet up for a convoy.?? and if so where.?? It looks like two places, PJ's place to start for the down Southwest lot, and Gordano for the Bristol Glos lot. Not long now.
  18. I went a couple of times and apart from the grass being a bit long, and the queues at the icecream van, it was great a great show especially the chance to see all the other makes close up.
  19. Blimey, not just the 300ZX club lethargy then ?
  20. Why don't you take the one off the spare column you have and then just plug the cars existing one into it just to try it, before going through all the nause of taking the one of your car.
  21. You obviously mean 'column' as the rack is underneath the car Marcus. The sheer bolts should drill out quite easily as they are soft. New ones will be a Wessex Garage job, usually next day delivery.
  22. Is this happening this year, and if so is anyone attending. Im sure it was mentioned some time ago ?
  23. It sounds like a turbo seal(s) gone but also could be a piston ring / damaged piston.Sadly both failures requires the engine to be removed from the car to rectify. The turbos can be refurbished for between £200 to £400 each.To find out if you have a piston related problem, do a compression test.
  24. If you contact Jeff (Zedworld), he will probably post one down on a sale or return basis, but you will have to pay the postage.
