adjustable tension rods
Uh ?. If they match the originals, they are long enough. Why would you then adlust them. It sounds like something else is wrong or not fitted properly.

The end
What they said /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ you would end up with an engine like when the car was new, and that lasted over 15 years, plus you have some options, i.e., forged pistons, cometic head gasket, top end bypass and so on. Once done if you do plan to up the power, the engine is all set up for it.

If there was one thing only?
Sounds fab John.............but......caravan lights :( surely not. you must be joking.

If there was one thing only?
An 840 would be better Si except you would need to buy the later 4.4 liter model as the 4.0 ones suffered from the Nickosil problem on the bores, the same as the early Jags. Awesome looking car though and very reliable.

If there was one thing only?
A complete brainwash, I am fed up with spending money on this car. A BMW 850 CSI is now looking very attractive.

just got a tractor
I used to have a 1952 Fergy which was started on petrol and then switched over to diesel for normal running. The nice thing about tractors is that the MoT test does not apply and most are now tax exempt. Getting parts and information is also difficult and if you are saying that yours was manufactured in 1936, you are going to have trouble especially being of French manufacture. assembling a tractor will not be easy as the engine, gearbox and axle assembly form the basic frame / chassis, and weigh an awfull lot. Exhaust systems are difficult to source and so are some tyre sizes, which on the rear will be expensive. that said the mechanicals and the electrics are very basic and easy to setup ready to run. On older tractors, they will not start in gear, or unless the clutch is depressed, on a Fergy there was a seperate position on the gear gate for starting. Good luck with your project.

water problem
Get compression test carried out and water system pressure tested, either one will confirm whether you have a head gasket is leaking or just a water leak from another source.
-
listen wot do you think
What sort of pressure is showing on your oil gauge when hot, both on tickover and at 3000 rpm, i.e., after driving the car. I know the standard oil gauge is rubbish but it should give some indication to the state of your big ends.

Of course me and Si were on times whilst...................I won't say anymore. You all know the score. Any now here are some pics, shame about the weather as it was quite dull. Thanks Lisa for another fine meet and twas nice to see everyone again, especially Si.( The others were Gezz, Lisa, Dave, Si and Rich).

Blimey Si, your lost for words.

cool 300zx print
What mega pixel are the prints, they need to be good to blow them up or as you say, they become pixated. Its a shame you live so far away a my camera a Nikon D200 is 12 mega pixels and the pics can be blown up to quite a size without losing image density. send me some pics on thomasj58@blueyonder.co.uk and I will see what I can do.:)

Strange noise from driver's side hub.
I think you need to remember that brake pads are always in contact with the disk, they are self adjusting. This means that overnight they may adjust to have more contact with the disk, once you brake, the clearance is adjusted and thus any contact may be illiminated. New pads may be more reactive to this than old worn pads. The only other thing that may cause this is worn wheel bearings, which once you brake, the pads wear to the suit the the disks. Either way Si, I would not be too concerned about it. The bearings may just need to be tightened a bit as opposed to being replaced.

Fuel Flap Question
I thought the two screws only adjusted the flap relative to the aperture.

Sony Vaio desktop help
If you go to the Sony website, they have downloads available for software such as this. All you have to do is select the model of your computer. They identify them as recovery disks. The alternative is to go on Ebay and look in 'computers' and under 'software', and then type in Sony and you can sometimes buy a set of recovery disks quite cheaply.
