Do an ECU code check first, if all is well you should come up with 55. From experience I have found that most tick over problems are to do with the either the TPS setup or connector being dirty, or perhaps a vac pipe off or perished. If it was running OK before the conversion, then something has changed enginewise to cause it. A manual conversion really takes place underneath the car so should not affect the running afterwards.

They were on the car when I bought it. The previous owner (Sasha) was bought them by her husband and he also bought himself a set for his shortie, which was written off recently and I have one of his wheels as my spare. They are a standard (Advan) finish I think.

I don't think it is as easy as just plugging it in to get it tuned properly. A Conzult will show how the engine is running and whether your O2 sensors are working etc., and that you timimg is advancing when you rev it. It can also do a power ballance test which knocks out each cylinder one at a time to show the effect it has on the running of the engine, i.e. a cylinder not running right will not effect the running as badly as one that is. the first thing I would do is make sure all your electrical connections are clean and sound, PTU, CAS, TPS, AIV valve etc, even your injector connections. Then make sure that all your vacuum pipes are on and in good condition, i.e.not perished and letting in air. Then if it is still fluctuating I would go for an ECU check and if all OK a Conzult check.

That is what you really need is like Zoggs, but with a gutter or something to take the water away from the engine. By letting air through the engine bay, the cooling effect is quite significant. Thats got me thinking now.

Thats probably why the tubs are now smoking. They will go on for quite a while as they are, but the smoking will gradually get more pronounced.

Well, good old BBC weather has suddenly changed its tune about this weekend, its now stating it will be cold (6 to 8 degs C) and possible showers.:( perhaps its not a good idea after all.
