  1. AS Jeff has stated, you need to ensure that the engine is running at its best potential before carrying out this test. This means that your plugs are in top condition, all coil packs working OK, and all electrical connections to coil packs, injectors, CAS and PTU are good. Also timing is set right. The results then can be translated into engine mechanical condition, and if still reading red on some cylinders should be followed up by a compression test.
  2. Some 5 years of Zed ownership, and no points...........yet.!:o
  3. Sounds as though the clutch plate and cover has been changed but not the bearing, which usually sieze when left unused for some time. This should only do this when the clutch pedal is pressed. Sadly it does mean the box coming out again to fit a new one.
  4. Bosch is a good make and should be suitable for your car. I have a Bosch battery which is now some 3 years old and recently left my headlamps on for some 3 hours when parked. It still started first pull. I would suggest that you get your charging output / circuit checked to ensure that enough is being put back in when running under load. Also have you had the battery tested to confirm that its duff, if so I would still take it back to your place of purchase as it does not look good for Bosch. It could be a faulty battery due to a manufacturing failure.
  5. Pure Laurel & Hardy that. PMSL.
  6. Be Jesus, I must stop reading posts marked 'Ouch', it make my eyes water.........with laughter of course.
  7. He is new Alan, but he is quickly becoming another post whore. Look out FunkySi.:)
  8. If it is only occasionally, I would say it is a misfire, if it does it all the the time then it is either propshaft or wheel balance, the latter usually being the culprit.
  9. It would also be worth doing an ECU fault code check to see if anything has registered as faulty. This would also point to what may be causing your problems. It will only highlight electrical items that may be failing.
  10. If he has not got an MoT, it would be a bit dicey taking it for a good run. I would be inclined to clean or renew the plugs and change the oil and filter. also give the air filter(s) a spring clean
  11. To check your fan, start the car up and then pull off the left hand connector in the water pipe that ii in the middle if the front of the engine (there are 2 connectors together) when pulled off the fan should kick in.
  12. Blimey Alan, you wet our appetite and the pics don't work, or is it just my computer.:(
  13. Your obviously refering to the dipstick tube which is a right pig to install once the engine is put back in, but not impossible.
  14. I don't think its too bad in the UK, but abroad is another thing, especially the African continent. The far east is grim too by all accounts. Best to stay clear of all of them me thinks, and that includes visiting.
  15. Ooooooh, touchy git eh.
  16. What sort of shooting, clay pidgeon or paintball. If clay pidgeon I would be interested as long as it does not clash with any of my other shooting arrangements.
  17. Is that your old wheels Alan, they look familiar.
  18. They should fit perfectly without any probs unless of course you have a big brake kit fitted, then you may need spacers on the front.
  19. I saw one recently which said 'if it has t1ts or wheels, it usually means trouble'. It did make me smile.
  20. Could be a boost leak but does sound electrical. I had a varying tickover problem and it turned out to be the connector on the TPS being mucky.
  21. Horfield Prison then Si.:)
  22. Taking days to organise a birthday bash, sounds like a big event.:smash:
  23. Blimey Paul, it must be his 21st then.;)
  24. I am sure FunkySi will have some pics, just wait til he next logs on.
