  1. doing mine in a week or so. how many square meters would cover all the panels? (door cards, front & rear parts, glovebox part etc) 2 be enough? also when putting the glue on, what kind is best? and do you cover the entire section? or just here and there?
  2. sounds like. does it smoke on boost? or at all when idling?
  3. if done properly i think it MAY look ok. but the front bumper just doesnt seem to work at all?
  4. dont think it costs 4 grand to import a car over here lol. think its about a grand tho? theres a vid of it on here: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/powervehicles/53128-super-rare-tommy-kaira-m30z-non-drift.html#post871255 sounds sweet as! (maybe youv heard it after it was braught here?)
  5. for sale at 1,150,000 JPY (6,550 pound) thats just onto the boat tho. them have to add shipping etc.
  6. lets chuck the NA and Auto models out the window, they are the lesser model, you wont get the full potential of the car of these models, both the Z and GTO. your just going to get Z votes here arnt you. its like going on a Man united forum and bragging about liverpool lol personal choice id say, i think the GTO looks a bit soft compared to the Z. the GTO doesnt seem to be as popular as the Z. i was thinking about a GTO before, but only becase it was the fastest car on gran turismo :D fuel wise id guess the GTO to be a bit worse, as is 4WD. but then that may handle better than the Z? the GTO VR4 is as fast as an R33 GTR, so lets forget that model lol

  8. just a question, does the car sound any different on 5 cylinders than 6? ive heard my old 4 cylinner car on 3 cylinders, so know what that sounds like. is it the same principal? or is the sound masked as there are more cylinders?
  9. sure he didnt bring a Z33 screen? :smash:
  10. easy mate. a boost gauge is a boost gauge. (however id prefer a top quality gauge to ensure accuracy) hardest part is putting the 1 wire through the firewall, which isnt that hard. just put it through the bonnet catch. then it just T pieces into a cable by the standard strut brace thing.
  11. il measure how good my standard gauge is tomo, iv got the standard one, and a Greddy gauge,

man thats cheap for 2 dump valves!
  13. lol ok then, dont do it :) mine wasnt really off off, just undone a bit, enuff to hear the sound. :wack:
  14. they were 50 qiud each, about 2 months ago. i sold mine to the scrappys for 30 each. went to about 3 scrappys, all told me the same - if came last week would have given 50 for each. credit crunch ruined everything, nobodys buying new cars, scrap has fallen dramatically.
  15. ive sometimes got a bit of smoke in the same position, asumed it to be exhaust manifold gasket tho, il check for the bolt aswell.
  16. the CAS connector is on the front right of the engine, may need to remove the rubber intercooler pipe to get at it. try cleaning the PTU connector, and the temp sesor. youv replaced the PTU, when it may have been the connection. mine was dirty, and i could hear the fuel pump whine from the back of the car. clean the CAS, 2 temp sensors, and 2 PTU connectors.
  17. yea was me who said. tbh i dont really see the need to upgrade from the series 1 PTU to the series 2 PTU. if the series 1 PTU is broken, try cleaning, if still broke replace. seems a lot of money for a series 2 PTU when they do the same. or if you have money to burn feel free :)
  18. yea they are not actually screamer pipes, you need external wastegates for those. yea the fake pipes im refering to, its just a split/divorced downpipe, so one part goes to the exhasut, and out the back of the car the normal way, then the other one is just a short pipe that the air exits at the front/by the downpipe. to hear what they sound like, just undo one of the intercooler pipes, on the throttle body, then drive on boost :)
  19. 20 quid for 5? get a mate to take them for free! nice colour car tho like that :)
  20. was doing bit of maintanence the other day, didnt tighten the intercooler pipe as much as should have. came off, but on boost sounded awsome! really hear the air sucking in loud as hell! (car was running poor as hell tho lol) anyway, obviously screwed it on tightly. think im going to have to get screamer pipe now! even if everyone who hears it drive past thinks i have a boost leak! :D
  21. try cleaning the connectors mate! ive just done mine now, the PTU connectors were so corroded, all green and smelly. would even start the car! knife to scrape the gunk off, wire wool, then WD40. or if its the actual unit thats gone, just get one second hand off here :)
  22. Fixed! took the intercooler pipes off, so coulf get at the PTU. thn jamed the throttle open, so the petrol could get out (smely quote a bit, so overfuelled) cleaned the 2x PTU connectors (had loads of green mould on them!) scraped woff with a knife, then wire wool, then sprayed WD40 and kitchin rolled them clean. the 2x Temp sensor & CAS connectors were clean tho, gave them the same treatment tho to make sure. took the fuel pump fuse out, turned the car over twice, then put the fuse back in, fires straight away! thanks a lot guys! i bet if i gave it to a garage they wouldnt have known!
  23. where is the PTU located? i have the same problem, i am going to check the Temperature Sensor, (clean the connector) this is on the front / centre of the engine on the alloy water pipe, where is the PTU please?
  24. thanks mate, il give it a go when its light, or maybe tomo after work. i dont think it is the fuel pump itself, as when i turn the ignition on, you can hear it prime everytime. i would agree with the flooding possibility, and the fact it could have been overfueling, as it smells of petrol, and was boggy. so give the thing a clean yea? is that the PTU??
  25. whats a PTU? i have a problem here if someone would like to post on it :( http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=117704
