Naf
:hyper::hyper: Thanks Paul@SWZ Good bloke, good price, good job:hyper: Even driving my Z 160 miles on 5 cylinders it still felt better than my old auto. Now just got to sort out my crusty coil pack connectors. Thanks again mate:duffer::duffer:
turbocraigy
Excellent stuff! Did you have the clutch booster and tanks fitted as well? What sort of price did he charge and was all parts supplied? I'm looking to convert early next year, although my auto seems to work excellently, I can't help feeling a manual would be much better. Yowser
Nice one. I saw your car up at SWZ last week. A Very clean looking UK car.
Funkysi
I bet it felt very strange driving the same car with manual after having it for so long with auto.
Naf
Paul did the whole thing and only charged me £1200;) Thanks Legrath theres a few more bits I need to do to her... but shes getting there. Funky..... YES she drives like a different car, also the last time I drove her as an auto was taking it to Pauls place in Somerset two weeks ago, she was taking her time changing into 3rd gear thats why I was having the conversion. So 2 weeks ago I start the long journey to SWZ and 10 mins onto the M25 the gearbox goes and I've only got 1st and 2nd......:mac1:so I carry on and set the criuse at 45 mph and at 4,000 revs ....... for the next 3 hours:xxx:and a full tank of juice. When I bought her I wanted a manual.... but fell in love with her plus the ratio of autos to manuals I new it would be a long time to find the right car/colour/condition/history in the rarer manual!!! Smithy
Well done mate, welcome to the world of manual zeds :p Glad it has turned out well for yer mate, seen 1 or 2 dodgy conversions done before now, you got it done for a very good price too.;) Sorted your coil pack connectors out now so you can get using that new box as yer should ?? Cheers Smithy
bantambunny
Yay it's the RAT, haven't seen that since micky owned it. Good to see a perfect UK car is now a manual, makes a big difference :D
Naf
I'm going to be changing the coil pack connectors and the injector connectors........ funny its cheaper to buy them in the states and have them shipped over than buy them in this country??? I wiil have a bit of soldering to do this weekend:rolleyes:!! As having her as a "Manual"....... driving is totally different, plus the way you have to hold the gearstick ... not on the top like in a "normal" car but gripped on the side like holding a ski pole........... makes me feel like a proper racing driver:tongue:
Z32
just a question, does the car sound any different on 5 cylinders than 6? ive heard my old 4 cylinner car on 3 cylinders, so know what that sounds like. is it the same principal? or is the sound masked as there are more cylinders? Naf
sounds a bit like a boxer engine on a "Subaru"..... rougher sounding and you can certainly feel the vibration!!:smash::smash:
Smithy
Glad it has turned out well for yer mate, seen 1 or 2 dodgy conversions done before now, you got it done for a very good price too.;) Smithy Just had Jeff fire me some pics over from when i was at Zedworld a few weeks ago helping him break a few Zeds. Anyways I came across this zed that had a conversion done some time ago by the looks of it, dunno who by. Just something for peeps to be on the look for when getting this kinda work done ;) Smithy Check out the brake pedal  I think sorting the rust out on this one was more important than the conversion, hence it's now being broken
