  1. I think we should put it forward as an idea and see how many are interested. It wont be a cheap holiday with tolls, fuel and beer, but if we could get a group of Zs it would be worth it. I think may/june would be better as it gives time for people to save up and its not the summer holiday period...
  2. We stayed in youth hostels, worked out about £20/night. I think a good plan would be: Day 1 = Meet at channel tunnel, drive to Nurbergring (336 miles) Day 2 = Laps of Nurbergring, drive to Freiberg via Luxemberg city (277 miles) Day 3 = Drive to Menaggio via the Gotthard Pass (233 miles) Day 4 = Drive to Monte Carlo via Col De Turini (287 miles) Stay the night in Nice as its a bit cheaper Day 5 = Hang out on beach or head home individually
  3. We loved it, it was great fun and found out two important things: 1) The MX5 will do 132mph with the roof down 2) Its possible to roll a cigarette at said speed if you do it in the glove box! On a serious note, we should plan a 300zx rally. There were some beautiful places along the route and I would love to visit them again. We have a few European members on this forum why not see if we can meet up? I like the idea of finishing in Monte Carlo though
  4. Ive never heard of that one, but last year my friend and I did this one: http://montecarloorbustrally.com/route-two-operation-black-forest-gateau-the-route/ We did it in my old MX5. We tarted it up like a rally car and raised almost £1000 for Great Ormand Street Hospital.
  5. Yesterday, Followed a red TT along Winston Crescent in my bus. It turned right at "Big Tesco roundabout". Looked nice!
  6. I suspect this happened a lot! Looks like you had a great trip. I think a Monte Carlo trip needs planning, possibly to coincide with the F1?
  7. "Here I am selling my Nissan 300zx twin turbo swb manual , long mot , new brake pads...." Maybe he meant "Nissan 300zx twin turbo LWB manual, short MOT...
  8. Hes cut a hole in the ashtray lid, i assume to plug things into the socket... :(
  9. GT40s are my favourite car ever. I would sell my Z for a GT40 replica... That's how much I like them...
  10. Damn, I've never seen them there! I take it all back!
  11. RIP Lord Montagu, May your passion for cars continue to enlighten people for a long time! To the people now running Beaulieu, You need to expand the collection and keep adding to it (GT40, XJ220, GTR all need spaces in my opinion)
  12. A friend and I were on the way back from Suffolk with a Celica full of goodies from a scrap yard when it flew over us on the way to Shoreham, then about 40 mins later both our phones got the news flash. Spooky. Having seen the video it does look to me (bear in mind, im no expert) like at the top of the loop the plane struggles (whether he lost too much speed, lost lift or power) and looses altitude, so much so that he cant pull up in time. I also feel (as bad as it was) hitting the middle of the A27 was a 1 in 1,000,00 chance and to start banning airshows and planes is wrong. Its terrible that people died, but not one spectator has died at an airshow since 1952 (farnborough show), thats 63 years with no spectator deaths (pilots have died in that time unfortunately), showing that the current rules and regulations for airshow flying are working. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/aug/24/shoreham-crash-rules-air-shows-how-safe
  13. Is this what you are looking for? After a brief (very brief) read on the net, there seems to be a clear divide between people who think its a great idea and others who dont. Team A thinks it saves their paint and therefore an expensive full respray even so often, Team B thinks its expensive and you never quite see your cars paint to the full effect (they also say its worse on darker cars) Have a good read, theres quite the arguement going on on pistonheads and a TVR forum! http://www.bodyguarduk.com/product.html http://www.clearguardforcars.com/
  14. I would key him back.....with my stanley knife!
  15. My low fuel light doesnt work either. I havent changed the clocks or even checked the bulb. I just play Fuel gauge roulette...
  16. Somebody buy them and turn them back into 300zx....please...
  17. I'm running 10 on all my machines now. Its really good. My only complaint is media centre is gone, so I cant watch live tv on my pc anymore. I'll have to find another way now...
  18. That looks like a parcel with China Post packing tap all over it in the backround!
  19. With the plenum off, my friend managed to drop a spark plug down one of the 6 intake holes... sellotape on the end of pencil amazingly got it back out, with a lot of swearing ofcourse!
  20. My downstairs neighbour has a Bluebird and Cherry and another old Nissan estate from that era...
  21. Look for a program called "easyRecovery Professional" by a company called "ontrack". When I ran my PC repair shop out in China I had many people come to me with "dead" HDs. The program is designed to grab lost data even after a format, its amazing what you think is gone forever, I was finding stuff on HDs 4 years after they had been deleted. The reason I bring it up is because in the Utilities section, there are tools for re-formatting, repairing sectors and partitions. It should help you out and solve all your problems...
  22. It was a great day today. I met my friend and his Z in Polegate at 6am, drove at fast (!) motorway speeds to the meeting point at Tescos Applemore, then joined a convoy of about 15 300ZXs and what felt like a million 350/370s! Took a long time to get into Beaulieu and managed to cover my freshly cleaned car in gravel dust, but once parked up we were in an excellent position, right by the burger vans and main pathway. Loads of people checking out our cars (even mine with all its missing paint!). It was great to meet a few of you from here, although I didnt get to meet you all! Had a look around and there were some great cars and some lucky people. Ive realised my 20-car garage now will include a R34 in Bayside blue, A Celica GT-4 in castrol colours and a 280Z in any colour! However the most important thing I discovered yesterday was that I can not wait until my Z is in pristine condition, Seeing all your Zs sparkling and gleaming together made my mouth drop and my heart burst. Well done to all of you for the work you put into them, they all looked magnificent and I hope one day mine will be half as good as them. One other thing I took away from exhibiting at my first car show was bring cloths and polish, you cant tell from the pictures, but compared to all the other cars, my car was filthy after that gravel car park queue! Some pics for you all:
  23. Im going to clean mine saturday evening when I get back from work, have to be gentle with mine though, its loosing more paint
