  1. *** BEFORE doing System Restore, try uninstallling IE9 - instructions below *** If you have a look at the System Restore options BEFORE choosing anything, it should tell you a) when the last System Restore point is and b) give you a dated list of other ones. It should only take your PC back to the state it was in at that restore point. System Restore "should" be OK unless if there is a serious problem with your PC.
  2. That's Start > Control Panel > System > System Protection and click the System Restore button. Read the options and you should be able to go back to before you installed IE9
  3. can you do a windows system restore?
  4. Congrats to all.
  5. I'd chop yer hand off for an opportunity to work in Saudi :arabia: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/country_profiles/791936.stm
  6. Interesting car wash = blank returned wash = http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/search.php?searchid=3343493 wash car = blank returned URL in blank returns is http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/search.php?do=process Maybe the search engine is getting dizzy counting "car" :) Firefow, BTW.
  7. Hallo jaylox, welcome back. Both Smithy and Danny still post but DTA / Smithy's place don't trade any more.
  8. Oops, sorry, missed those Gary, thanks for the post. Saves me doing it!
  9. Invented in UK! And their facebook thingy  at least it's a Nissan  Indy car hahaha can we get this added to F1 pitstops
  10. Hallo. Welcome and good luck. You've got a couple of choices. Follow the buyer's guides the one started by this site AndyP's index to a few more Xenon's There are others but this should give you a good guide. If you're after a clean 1993 Series 3 NA Auto 2+2, buy mine :D
  11. Although mine's better, be fair, this guy has a refreshing level of honesty compared to most of the works of fiction that are typical Zed ads: His heart's in the right place :) and at least you know you'd get exactly what he offered. As opposed to "genuine show car with 500rwhp" b*llocks.
  12. You were on your way out of town as I was stuck in the jam on the way in.
  13. It's the slippery slope to more bling! I think making a silver car look more silvery is no bad thing. My first silver one I cleared out the indicators as well, Jeff blinged-up my 2nd one with some clear corners and on this one, no need, they're smoked already :) But TBH, I think that's about the limit for me with this car. Keep it stock, keep it simple. @ everyone else - thanks for the kind words. I'll do my best to bring it out and about a bit this year and give it the TLC it deserves. Pics will follow. Cheers.
  14. Good man, Sudesh, pleasure meeting you, too. I must say the S6 is living up to everything so far and is clearly a very clean car. Your pics were spot on. It'll get the care it deserves. At last I can go back to the truth "silver ones are faster" :D
  15. Hi Gary, yes the process was very simple. Just fill in the right forms with the right paperwork from Sudesh, MOT sorted by Jeff etc. It took longer to stand in the queue at the DVLA in Birmingham than actually going through it with the bloke behind the counter. 5 working days later and bingo, tax disc, V5C etc dropped on the mat. A lot easier than I thought. I think that was a) being over 10 years old avoided SVA, b) 300ZX Z32s were once an official UK car and c) all Sudesh's paperwork was comprehensive and complete so the DVLA were happy. No aggro. Picked it up from Zedworld on Friday and been sorting other stuff, updating my website to sell the blue one (not quite done yet), getting keys cut, swopping plates and so on. Even taken the better half out in it. Oh well, back to work tomorrow. Cheers mate - that's several I owe you so best make sure neither of us are driving next time :pint:
  16. Not only for being top people but also for keeping schtum for so long. Some weeks ago, I fell across a post here and got hooked. I've been a member since 2003 so I really should know better to look at things like that. But I did and the damage was done. I tried to fight it, sent emails trying to put it off, looked for the catch ... and failed. I'd like to blame Mr F for saying that it was "delightful". I'd like to blame Gary Wilson for so kindly offering a lift to and from the airport. I'd like to blame Jeff and Zedworld for saying "yes, no problem" and above all I'd like to blame Sudesh for having the sense to snaffle his prizes from south of the border. And also Jon who was a good reference. But actually, I have no-one to blame but myself and a coup de coeur (that's yer actual French, that is). What am I on about? Well, I now need to sell my 2nd Zed because of this: Oh dear. After I bought my 2nd Zed, I swore I would never buy another one. This is it*. There is no way I would have been tempted into this without the help and expertise of fellow forum members so thanks, guys. Especially Gary who gave up his time at very short notice to schlep half the way across the province and back. Mr F's expert opinion was (and is) invaluable and Jeff / Jamie / Lynda at Zedworld have been as enthusiatic and professional as you all well know. Ta. Erm. Anyone want to buy a well-cared for Series 3 NA Auto 2+2? I seem to have one going spare... PistonHeads ad here and a forum one when I have time. For those who were wondering what happened to the stunning Series 6 1999 NA Auto Version S posted some months back by Sudesh, now you know. I wasn't going to buy another Zed but I did. As Oscar Fingal O'Flaherty Wills Wilde said, the only way to get rid of temptation is to give into it. :D There are quite a few differences in the Series 6: Mr F highlighted some fundamentals, Sudesh pointed out some more and Jeff discovered more. I've found some and I'm sure there are more to be found. *thanks Spike
  17. and where's it from? This was new to me - and the expert who discovered it. It's possible he may be the first person in the UK to see one. So I thought it would be worth a Sunday evening quiz. Any ideas?
  18. Welcome - good to see another one from round here. Well, just down the road :)
  19. No my child, you're clearly on the road to seeing the light so not sacrilege!
  20. Try this http://www.speedtester.bt.com/ Plus it can take a few days for the line to train but this tool will tell you what your line is configured for and what is actually being achieved. If you're only getting 2MB and you're only 100 yards from the exchange (are you sure you are connected to your closest exchange?), that's below normal. May be some other problem somewhere (eg in the ground).
  21. I first got the taste for it in the Mermaid in Sark. New barmaid a) used wrong measure so was serving trebles instead of singles and b) charging house whisky prices and c) this was on Sark so no VAT or duty anyway. Didn't last long, Pat the landlord found out eventually... I'm not actually a drinks fascist so go on, have a hot toddy :) but do try it the way the Men of Tain intended and, if you like whisky, you'll really like this one. Cheers.
  22. oops sorry, fair enough. Point being, really, Sky usually do know what they're doing with broadband and many times changing provider does NOT fix the line problem.
  23. With deep respect :) Glenmorangie is a lovely single malt. OK, it's quite common and mass market but even so it's very drinkable. Get a large glass tumbler and put at least a double in it. Some swear by adding the same again of still water (your choice). Swirl gently round the glass and raise to your nose. Breath in through your nose gently to let the flavours pass over your palate. Pause. Take a good sip (don't gulp but don't stint yersel). Roll it round the mouth, breath in through the nose again and swallow gently. Open mouth and breathe in again to let the alcohol vapours evaporate and give that nice bite at the back of the throat. Repeat in front of a warm fire with a howling gale outside until you feel the urge to wear a tartan skirt. Hoots mon. PS - now I'm thirsty. Can you tell I haven't had a 'morangie for decades? PPS and for gary's side of the water, try http://www.bushmills.com my mother's favourite whiskey (note the extra "e")
  24. Add that to the list of 1) there's a cheque in the post, 2) of course I'll respect you in the morning and 3) I promise I won't xxxxxxxxxxx (deleted on taste grounds :D ) Sky bought Easynet who were one of the first and best LLU companies - which basically means they put their equipment into BT exchanges. TalkTalk might be LLU in the same exchange or they may not, I don't know. BUT if you are getting a horrible service from an ADSL enabled exchange (whether from BT or an LLU provider) the odds are that that is caused by the phone line from the exchange to you and moving providers will make damn all difference. The bods in the call centre use various databases to "estimate" / "guess" / "lie" about your expected speeds and not one of them know for sure until you've signed up and they can test the line in real world. Most of these databases (including the SamKnows one) are based on info provided by BT Openworld and we know for certain that this is not accurate. According to this database, ALL my customers have access to ADSL and we know that's just not true - otherwise they wouldn't be my customers. Anyway, I hope the change of provider does solve your issue but, broadly speaking, if Sky can't provide you with a good service, odds are the problem lies between you and the exchange.
