the best part of having man flu
How to tell man flu from real flu. 1) Stand by the bed/sofa where the invalid is moaning. 2) Throw £20 note on the ground. 3) If he gets up to grab the note, it's man flu :)

3.0 Single Turbo conversion anybody?
Blimey, look at the sticker to the right of the number plate: Xoticar. Haven't heard about them for yonks - are they still going? They used to be in South Croydon (from memory). They fitted my first Mongoose supplied by Jonny / Grasshopper way back in ooer May '02. There's some names from the past for us oldies...

210miles
Best I've done in my NA Auto is 28.5mpg! In the past year, 359 on a tank.

Dash Sounds ..
I'm really irritated as I can't find the real reference to the speed which triggers the Japanese speed warning chime. Their limit is 100kmh (62mph) but I have seen other refs to the chime being at 105kmh (65mph) or 109kmh (68mph). On my old S1, I think IIRC it was at 68mph but don't take that as gospel. My S3 also has a reversing bing. But I'm pretty sure Yowser is right as neither come from the passenger footwell. First I've heard of that. You haven't got a Soprano special have you?

That's the Lithuanian entry for this weekend's Eurovision Song contest, isn't it? Bit too close to the Monaco one to win, methinks.

Bluetooth ODB2
The ECUTalk display is available without enclosure. Peter sent these pics and he says Interesting...

Bluetooth ODB2
I was wondering if something dropping down from the visor might work - perhaps on a friction hinge. The other idea was to make something up from the A-pillar. Trying to think of where it can be seen and also within fingertip reach. But I do like that built-in look. Ahhhh decisions decisions...

Anyone know anyone who can write press releases
Press releases are not difficult. Always check they have the basic structure as per here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_release and that's a start. If anyone bids for your business and their releases don't look like this, they'd better have a very very strong rationale for doing it differently.

Bluetooth ODB2
Is that permanently mounted somewhere (fnarr fnarr) or just on a PDA car mount? There is more flexibility with the PDA display about what to show and error codes etc but the built-in display is kind of neat. Plus it has a pass through so you can then plug in a laptop and run the ECUtalk s/w on that simultaneously for fault finding, logging etc. Don't know if that would also run ConZult.

Bluetooth ODB2
Now that's a damn good idea. Well spotted, Rich666. I'll drop him a line to see if he has seen it - maybe it will nudge him into a more productionised version to make it easier. Then I can beg Yowser to do mine :D

Bluetooth ODB2
Sadly, no. There was an Australian guy who did an interface to PDA but there were only some demo units here in UK. There's another Australian bloke who does know his stuff and has software which does run on PDAs with serial input and I spoke with him a lot about a Bluetooth adapter from Consult port to PDA/WinMo phones but nothing practical ever came out of it because there wasn't a cheap/reliable enough bluetooth device to plug into the Consult port. Since OBD11 is global standard, there's a big enough market but for Consult? He does do a great display though if only I could work out a way of making it look nice rather than the boxy thing it is

Bluetooth ODB2
That's correct. They're not OBDII, they're Consult.

1996 300ZX Version-S Apparently
I'm not sure it is a Version S - not because of the year, other stuff. I've asked for the chassis number so let's see... Front Bumper isn't S4/VS, sill protectors were only Version R as standard (could have been option). The 1999 Version S brochure http://jccc.web.fc2.com/japanese/nissan/fairlady-z-z32-199905/index-en.html shows Version S did not have spoiler as standard and had special seats. This car doesn't - whether this is because of options, aftermarket or 1996 Version S being different spec to 1999 Version S, I don't know. Your turn to do some research! The Red nose badge is only for 1999 models http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm Version S was indeed introduced in Series IV (94/10 to 97/1) The car looks nice enough but it is far from stock. Sudesh's is nicer and genuine :D

Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
Enthusiast's Companion says 222bhp (=225ps) for NA and 280ps for TT. But 1999 brochure (attached) says 230ps (=227hp) for NA and 280ps for TT If you can tell the difference between 225ps and 230ps (or even 220 vs 230) in everyday use, you're telling porkies :D

Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
My Zed's a daily driver and how I get to/from work so wave if you see a blue NA with GIO on the plates. Because it's a commute, I quickly got bored with the clutch on the manual when Hanger Lane seizes up and my left knee has now forgiven me thanks to the auto. And I'm sure having two turbos pumping out heat with no airflow wasn't doing anything under the bonnet any good. So bye bye turbos and hello auto. Better mpg too.

what a stunning example
Has he painted the wheels black to hide the fact that at least one if not two of them are on the wrong side?
-
Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
Yep. "only" 50hp difference. NA auto still 230hp. London (A40 / A406) is exactly why I changed from a manual TT to an NA Auto. Very happy.

That's the same guy FunkySi got his from all those years ago. I went round with him to give it the once over. ...Car was pretty good. edit: see Yowser's posts later on. Perhaps not quite as nice a guy as he seemed at the time.
