300zx vs 3000gt
Got one in the road a few doors up. Very neat, black, FMIC, well cared for (parked next to the guy's poopra:rolleyes: Every time I walk past them coming back from t'shop or t'pub, I think, blimey, that Zed parked a few doors up is a much nicer looking car. :thumbup1:

The only way to eat a Mars Bar
Rolling Stones drugs bust at Redlands. Blonde, beautiful and a great voice: (check the headline on the paper she's carrying) Shame it was only an urban myth but still, a lot more fun than dunking a Twix or shotgunning a Tim Tam :tongue_smilie: And Keef had a great quote "The fur rug - yes. The Mars Bar no. We were out of Mars Bars." Arf arf. If you claim to remember the 60s, you can't possible have been there  I was but I still have to look it up .

the only way to eat a twix
So you've caught up with the Aussies - well done. Shotgun a Tim Tam for the real thing. :tt2: Also known as "The Tim Tam Slam".

fitting uk belts into a proper zed (lol)
Strictly speaking, belts on the pillar (as opposed to the door) are not UK-only. All Zeds from Series 2 onward had belts there whether JDM, UK or wherever. http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm

Dead injector na. Could I use set of tt ones

Dead injector na. Could I use set of tt ones
Sure, Smithy, if he'd had one when I needed one, I would have bought it! As you say, luck of the draw. Sort of glad I've got full set, though, since it's my daily driver. Just seen hellraiser's other post - he needs the early type (phase 1) which are even harder to find. Deatschwerks don't do them but they do an adapter kit. http://www.deatschwerks.com/product-search?keyword=300zx bloody nora, just looked and the prices have gone up a tad from 2009!

Dead injector na. Could I use set of tt ones
Easier? EASIER? FFS when I tried to do just that in Aug 09, I would have had more luck in finding some rocking horse doodoo. A point made to me at the time was that if one injector is u/s, you might find the others not far behind. Anyway, it was so difficult to find anyone splitting an injector set back then, I got a set from the US (Deatschwerks as supplied by Concept Z). Can't help with the spares from my old set, sorry, I eBayed them last October time and got £0.01p each! £35? I should coco. Good luck

Why is my radio signal rubbish?
I'm doing this from memory. I was going to do a write up but lost the bleeding pics. You'll see some of the old threads if you stick diversity into this forum search. It isn't one FM / one AM or two aerials (well it is, but not like that). The Nissan Diversity Aerial used two elements and combined them electrically in the head unit to try and cut down on (IIRC) FM multipath reflections. according to some quick googling on other zed forums http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=524787&forum=technical&dtSearch=1 it's not to cut down on multipath, but the head unit (if it's got that facility) switches between the two elements (the upright one and the one in the rear window) depending on the best reception. You can just cut off the one and put a coax connector on the other or just plug in the one that fits. But (as you found) you'll never get as good a result if you don't do it the way Nissan intended - and that means you need the adapter. If you have a look at the back of the OEM head unit you'll find that there will be two places to plug in the two original leads.
-
Why is my radio signal rubbish?
Yep. The OEM Nissan harness terminates behind the radio with both those plugs. The adapter is to change from the Nissan two aerials to the normal single input. I had a pic somewhere but lost it. Oops.

you need a diversity aerial adapter http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=diversity+aerial+adapter&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=18136202159761434367&sa=X&ei=W--BTbizEqmShAfZy8DBBA&ved=0CDMQ8wIwAg# I got mine from club member (ex club member?) Bob here http://www.safeandsoundchester.co.uk/contact.html

Loose connector next to Consult plug - what is it?
Thanks Eric, always good to get good advice. I take it that I can just leave it alone. Do you know what the white socket is just to the right? Between the ABS connector and the Consult connector. Just curious.

Loose connector next to Consult plug - what is it?
There I was trying to get the Consult working and I noticed this waving about in the breeze. Hopefully one of you experts will know what it is and where it should be plugged into (or should that be "into where it should be plugged" :) ). This is on my 1993 S3 Auto 2+2 NA if it makes any difference. Thanks in advance - Gio

NA and TT are different at the diff end. 2+2 are longer than SWB These are both TT. Top is ex my old S1 manual TT. Below is the one I ordered from the US before I found out the only TT they had in US was SWB.- help me write this complaint
1) Don't make Tesco's any richer than they already are. 2) Very few opticians keep much stock of all the myriad types of contact lens anyway (doesn't let Tesco off the hook for being cr4p customer service, tho') 3) Try these guys http://www.lensway.co.uk where I bought my last sets. Good Luck. Or should that be GOOD LUCK :)- NA vs TT auto boxes
Errm, yes they are different as per http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1435677&postcount=7 and more info http://zclub.net/forum/z32-300zx/17622-z32-auto-transmissions.html- normal unleaded prepare to tell me off
You're right, vern936, my bad. I was sort of right in that higher RON allows higher compression and therefore a more energetic burn in the cylinder etc etc. But you're right, it is the resistance to det that allows it, not the energy in the fuel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating I'll go and write this out 100 times. :smartass: - propshaft from a 2+2 fit a 2+0/coupe?
