That's Start > Control Panel > System > System Protection and click the System Restore button. Read the options and you should be able to go back to before you installed IE9

*** BEFORE doing System Restore, try uninstallling IE9 - instructions below ***

If you have a look at the System Restore options BEFORE choosing anything, it should tell you a) when the last System Restore point is and b) give you a dated list of other ones. It should only take your PC back to the state it was in at that restore point.

System Restore "should" be OK unless if there is a serious problem with your PC.

Go to your Windows Help system and search under System Restore for more info. One of the things it says is

System Restore affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. It can also make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.

Note

System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file. If you have backups of your files, you can restore the files from a backup.

If it's only the internet that's slow, just visit firefox.com, download, install and use that instead of IE9. Simples.

Just found the Microsoft instructions for uninstalling IE 9 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

Click one of the following:

Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).

Note

Note

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

Try that first. Then look at System Restore if necessary.
