  1. Anyway, Chris, get some photos up! :) Did you ever get those paint defects sorted out?
  2. Not trying to start a fight here and playing devil's advocate but the original post does devote a large proportion of it to this 'someone else' and there are plenty of folk who have a grievence, so to look at it from another stand point would be 300zx owners looking out for each other?
  3. Very nice and a good save. Can't say the wheels do it any favours but the rest looks great. It's so nice seeing cars saved and restored in a sympathetic way rather than having half a boat grafted onto it and being painted a lurid colour. So glad that those dark days are behind the car now. Nice work!
  4. Sadly he ripped off or did sub standard work on quite a few members' cars.
  5. That's awful mate, sorry that this has happened to you. I agree, name and shame. What a scummy pile of shit you are if you're reading this. Go **** yourself.
  6. Polishing new paint is absolutely fine if applying by hand. Be a little more careful when using a rotary, however a DA shouldn't give you any issues. Waxing or sealing fresh paint isn't always advised as it still needs to gas-off. It depends on how 'fresh' it is. A month or two should be more than adequate.
  7. I think the Ross on Wye meet of 2005 was around the same size. :)
  8. I'm sure it would get rejected, but I'll out my name down as some form of a moderator.

  10. With numbers so low, it's not that easy. Nissan are already involved with heritage cars at the Monteray Classic. The Nissan brand has a much bigger appeal than it does here where when you say 'Nissan', most folks immediately think of Micras. Nissan's North American models are far more appealing than the 'pile' em high, sell 'em cheap' econoboxes in Europe.
  11. The main factor is actually heritage. There's a cult following for the Z car, it was seen in many racing guises over there and as such have become more of a collector car. Z32s in Europe are seen as unknown. There's little heritage and Nissan of Europe and the UK offer nothing for their owner base in terms of support and sponsorship. It doesn't really have anything to do with the numbers as you'd expect a country with more of them to be cheaper. There's big support for the Z marque. ZCCA for example are very influention with Nissan USA. Over here, our little Z Club aren't. The main factors are support and heritage which I've seen and experienced first hand.
  12. You don't owe me anything dude. Just get your car done and that's payment enough. :)
  13. Not quite worldwide. In the US, there were a few changes. 90 only had a plain nose panel, no badge. Moustache didn't vanish until 94 I think, in Japan is was 95. In Europe, it was always adopted, even on the very last runs of late 96/early 97 cars.
  14. This is tentatively what I'll be setting mine to, it's actually Kirbz old settings which worked well for him for those that know him.
  15. Boost controller all neatly wired up and working. I'm going to be setting the gain and hi/low boost settings this weekend. I've had a look at Legrath's tutorial but wondering what everyone's got theirs set to? I've had an EBC sat in my cupboard for years but only just got round to installing it. Heaven knows why I hadn't done it sooner! Boost jets are out, doing it the correct way.....although some would argue that a Haltech or Link with boost function would be the correct way. I don't want to increase performance (yet). That'll be after I fit 740cc injectors and have it rolling roaded on Nistune, so I'll be sticking to 14.5psi (1bar). So shouldn't feel massively different save for maybe a quicker and possibly slightly smoother spoil up. If anyone has stock turbos, keen to see your settings.
  16. I have 4500k in mine. They do have a mild slight blue tinge from some angles, but they are bright and don't look like they're aftermarket which is what I was keen to get away from. I had 6000k prior and wasn't so keen on.
  17. I called Rockingham on Friday, I am awaiting a callback from the sales people there. Soon as I have detail of various packages, I'll post them up.
  18. Nice work! Good quality blue glass is as rare as hens teeth which means that green glass in good condition is as rare as a truthful politician!
  19. What the hell is going on up there? You need some stern words, he's had that nigh on a year hasn't he?
  20. Driving through floods however isn't. The forecast where I live is dreadful. Doesn't look as bad at Beaulieu though, but I'm not risking driving through potential floods. Sorry. :(
