  1. Thanks Dan that sounds promising!
  2. thanks for that, I will jack her up tomorrow mornign and check it out :)
  3. Yeah think I saw that Baz! will double check.
  4. Thanks guys. The adjustable parts all seem pretty tight which is odd, but it might be the camber arms?.. Thansk lymon, how do I find them?? no idea what they look like
  5. Hello all, so for the past year or so I have had annoying noises when turning or going over speed bumps (very slowly of course). It is an annoying creaking noise which seems to come from either the front left or right, or both. When turning the wheel at slow speeds and manouvering it sounds like a clicking, and then when going over bumps and cambers it can be more of a creaking. It isn't affected by speed or wheel rotation so I dont think it is the cv joints as I know the kind of sound they make. I have adjustable camber arms and tension rods which are poly bushed. I also have different suspension on the car but the noises were happening before I got that fitted to I am tempted to rule out the shocks. So far I have lubed up the bushes I could see such as tension rods but the noise is still there. I have also checked that the shocks are tight on the mounts which they are. Anyone have some thoughts for next steps? It is starting to drive me a bit mad and is rather embarrassing as it can sound like an old ship sometimes! I read that the front anti roll bar having dry joints night be the cause, but I dont know how to find where that is?? Thanks, William.
  6. yeah having thought about it I do agree that it doesn't make sense to bolt on some old parts to such a nice original car :)
  7. yeah 2 engine swaps haha! Not a walk in the park. Yeah I guess it is down to the overall condition Dan which would be the real deal breaker.
  8. Yeah that would be it matey. My 94 spec is fine, but needs a respray to be nice, and I have some 99spec gear waiting to go on it, but all that costs money. - - - Updated - - - I have a chat lined up with my usual mechanic who works on the zed this weekend to discus potential...
  9. Imported from Japan with a test and everything? i would say probably closer to £15k all in... Can't say I have ever seen a midnight purple 99spec TT manual for sale in the UK.
  10. Does jimmer work out of bristol? No I agree, but the respray costs and additional kit I am looking at the moment is around 3k, so it might be the lesser of 2 evils.
  11. Hi guys, I am considering sir charles na at the moment to swap in my tt engine as the original plan was to respray mine and fit a 99spec kit. Who might be able to take on that job, and at what price as I might have to go for it if the price is right! I would then need to swap the na into my tt though so i can sell it. Might be a bit too much of a hassle, but interested to hear opinions!
  12. I would second going for the gun and doign a manual conversion.... I am happy to chip in a tenner :D
  13. fair enough thanks they look decent. I will see what I can find!
  14. Thanks Steve, is teh stock 2"? I want a bit more "presence" I guess, as the Veilside is lovely, but I think could be enhanced. Althoguh what I do not want is for my turbos to start smoking as there is no smoke at all on original tubs at the moment. And that change in back pressure woudl worry me, so I have been holding out on a straight through until I can afford tubs! That sound about right? Best , W
  15. Hello! So after lookign at the underside of the car I noticed how gross the stock downpipes back to the cats are. they have a heatshield or something covering them and the pipes themselves look quite small, what is the standard size? Also, what size can I get away with sensibly as a bolt on? And finally will a stainless pipe change the sound on a turbo car? Thanks!
  16. So, do you think that Oil is engine or gearbox? Couldn't really tell where it originated form. It doesn't ever drip or lose oil between changes. Haven't once topped the oil up. is a changing the subframe easy enough without a lift? Just a pair of big jacks? EDIT: Ahh okay mean seal is the tranny main seal. I would like to do a gearbox refresh at some point anyway as there is a slight noise at very low revs when pulling away which is apparently a bearing. Is there anywhere which is known for doign a bit of a tidy up on the underneath of these cars? I don't have the knowledge or space living in London.
  17. Yeah that is smart Dan, one day maybe! I just dont want her falling apart on me at this point! So as for preventative maintenance, thanks for the top on the front subframe Steve, you are right it does look a bit suspect!
  18. Hello, So had the car on the ramps this weekend for a tracking check after fitting some new rubber and was wondering if I could get some advice on its condition based on these photos? No issues apparent, sills seem strong, but the sump looks like it might be quite corroded along with a fair amount of surface rust on other parts?? It spent 10 years in cornwall so may have seen slightly more salt water than I would have liked, but overall not too bad I think. I am happy to get an underseal at some point, although it seems like it has already had a seal of some sort (factory?) Would a new underseal strip off the old stuff first?
  19. ahh yeah day apart on the mot good call... dodgy MOT? Does sound suspicious! Why dont people just sell something honestly as it would probably get that price on ebay with the faults known!
  20. So I am 3rd in line for this at the moment... No MOT, but no advisories according to dvla. I wonder what it wrong with it, looks v v nice! He has someone viewing it at 9am tomorrow, then someone else in line, but I am betting one of them geezas will snap it up. Anyone know it'? 21. Interested to hear thoughts, although I believe teh ratios might not be a good match...
  22. Yeah I vote for Chris (not leblanc) harris. True car nut through and through.
  23. Pirelli P7 cinquecento blue here. around £100 each and have a really good rating for economy and noise
  24. Pretty much everyone in my close circle of friends is saying how they have been screwed over by this and that the country has been ruined, but I generally feel that it is an opportunity and a really exciting time to be alive. The pound will recover, we will make new trade agreements, and life will continue. I think it will be really interesting to see what happens to the EU, as they face real troubles. There is a clear transnational dislike of the EU as an organisation, and that says something. For the record I don't think that our government do a bad job by any means and the people who are constantly bashing our government on social media do my head in. I do think that the media in general is painting a pretty bad picture generally, but I guess they are posting news that sells. Apparently no one read positive stories.... I am genuinely very hopeful that after we pay the short term price things will look up. Even if not much changes (which is probably wont our side of the water) at least when people are angry about the outcome of somethign they can no longer point the finger to the EU, we have to stand up and face our own issues.
  25. Decided to start practicing up some sketching tonight as I want to render some concepts for the rear bench, here is the first attempt at a rough pencil sketch from memory... more to come hopefully.
