Hello all,
so for the past year or so I have had annoying noises when turning or going over speed bumps (very slowly of course). It is an annoying creaking noise which seems to come from either the front left or right, or both. When turning the wheel at slow speeds and manouvering it sounds like a clicking, and then when going over bumps and cambers it can be more of a creaking. It isn't affected by speed or wheel rotation so I dont think it is the cv joints as I know the kind of sound they make.
I have adjustable camber arms and tension rods which are poly bushed. I also have different suspension on the car but the noises were happening before I got that fitted to I am tempted to rule out the shocks.
So far I have lubed up the bushes I could see such as tension rods but the noise is still there. I have also checked that the shocks are tight on the mounts which they are.
Anyone have some thoughts for next steps? It is starting to drive me a bit mad and is rather embarrassing as it can sound like an old ship sometimes! I read that the front anti roll bar having dry joints night be the cause, but I dont know how to find where that is??
Thanks, William.
