  1. haha hopefully not quite like that ;)
  2. Hello, So I am building a sub into the floor of the boot, and am almost at the point of putting the bottom on the box. Now I am wondering if there is any reason not to just fit the sub box sides directly to the boot floor? This would save the weight of the wood, and also create quite a solid base to the box??.. Would it cause a log of reverb through the chassis perhaps muddying the bass?
  3. So even without the bottom or side on the sub box it still makes SUCH a difference to the sound! Sounds like a proper sound system. Love it. Not that I ever listen to music as the exhaust note is good enough, but the option is nice. So now I am wondering whether it needs a bottom to the box or whether I could just fix the top of the box onto the boot floor instead??....
  4. Ahh cool thanks guys, the mockup does look nice! :D now to find some.....
  5. Hello, I have seen these wheels around a lot lately and wondered what peoples thoughts were on the make, and look of the M580 model on the zed? I think it might look quite nice in a dark grey with deeper concave rears?...
  6. Oops I quickly browsed and thought they were TE37s... My bad :D
  7. well put, I have only been around a few years but this has become one of my favourite corners of the internet (next to ebay and one or two I don't care to mention on a public forum) Thanks to everyone for the advice and the high spirits, I agree that it brings another level to owning the car and being able to appreciate it.
  8. hmm I think this will appeal to the right buyer due to the miles and I reckon it looks better in the flesh. I think it would go for around 5K at the moment, but more if they waited. And to be fair the wheels have added a grand to price if they are genuine, so I reckon that is not advertised too far off. My Blue zed was in worse condition cosmetically with more miles and that sold 2 years ago for 4k. I then bought it back 6 months later for 3 grand but still :D
  9. So, My two cents... I am not against customs pods and panels, I just wouldn't go with brushed aluminium. I don't think it suits the car. It is always nice to have chamfered edges, and materials that feel nice as well as good looking and personal that metal doesn't do it for me. Now if it was a carbon fiber or something perhaps I woudl like it more. After all the stock pods do look very 90s! Also on the door, the whole interior is very soft and comfy looking with that alcantara/suede, and then you have a very imposing silver rectangle which again doesn't look like it is mean to be there. But of course this is just my opinion :D
  10. hello All. So my shagpile matts n longer fit under my seats as they are too low. original blue in alright condition, could do with a shampoo though!! 35 quid, shipping is a tenner. best regards, W
  11. Beautiful build and interior mate!!
  12. Update - Seats almost complete so only final touches to do. pretty happy with the result. Will make some charcoal alcantara inserts for them at some point too so I can change the colour. next up - twin subwoofers built into the boot floor in the toolbox alcoves.
  13. Shit dude so sorry to hear it!!! glad you are okay.
  14. Be good to get alogn to somethign - I work a lot but haven't been to a meet in years!
  15. hahah yes that was me after some burger and lobster at the big easy. It was raining a bit and I was trying to fit 4 of us in the car, and my drivers lock doesn't work at moment :D
  16. ahh wish i was closer! would like those japspeed decats
  17. Interesting read! i will be following later in the year if it works, as I am sure others will.
  18. Looks brilliant though Si, must have been satisfying putting it back together
  19. Probably safer to have Mondo build and fit one rather than risking the cover being poor quality, specially if paying to have it fit... their feedback has mixed reviews for the quality
  20. Hi Guys, So now I have the Bride seats installed I literally have nowhere to put my other front seats and the missus is getting grumpy with the number of car parts in the bedroom... I retrimmed these recently as you may know with decent quality black leather and genuine alcantara. Includes runners. It was my first retrim so there are a few areas which could be improved, but overall they could improve a tired interior :p Literally no idea what seats are worth these days and these are particularly bespoke so I will just see what interest there is before going to ebay. SOOOOOOOOOOOO many hours of work went into these but i am going to ignore that for now :D Also for some reason the passenger side release handles (to pull to seat forward) are really stuff, but this must just be a spring or something that has come off as they weren't like this last year. Based in London, viewing recommended. Best regards, William.
  21. I am really interested what this would look like although bit concerned that it fits over the current leather rather than removing it first... Whenever I think about a dashboard retrim it fills me with fear.
  22. Thanks Richie! some updates form today's fitting...
