  1. I had a same thing happen on mine. Turned out to be an air leak after so it wasn't gettign the right air to fuel mix. One of my recirc valves had a big ol hole in it :D Got to the point where you coud hear the air leak when engine was running,
  2. Built that one as part of my retrim (forum thread is called the great jamaenese interior retrim). Didnt like the size of this amount of perforated leather so here is V2 completed over the weekend!...
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Fairlady-Z-Twin-Turbo-Manual-Z32-RARE-/322030085873?hash=item4afa7d26f1:g:11kAAOSwu1VW27qf this "completely unmolested" example was for sale last year (nov). I viewed it as a spared car for the 99spec bumper but walked away thinking it probably wasn't worth more than £800 of anyones money! The speedo/electrics were completely shot, terrible interior, rust everywhere, sills gone, misfiring engine, and a page of MOT failures. It has obvisouly had a bit of work to get it through an MOT, but I would highly advise anyone to steer clear. I have viewed some poor Zeds over the years, but this was the worst. Best regards, W
  4. Thanks for the comments guys! I have actually decided to go for round to. I am not completely happy with the finish this time around as I used the old fabric as the pattern which meant a lot of fiddling afterwards to get a nice fit. This time I will be making a pattern from scratch. I took a trip around an amazing leather warehouse last weekend, they had all sorts from aligator and stingray hides, to the softest suede. I picked out a really soft smooth black leather which has been used in a number of sports cars, and also found a pretty unique nubuck soft blue leather - it is half way between suede and leather with a really smooth matt finish. The next build will be using these two leathers on the seats! And I have to finally start the panel retrim in black alcantara! Thanks for reading! :)
  5. Fit the new 99 spec lights build by Andy (phutumsch) last week. Absolutely spot on job and look brilliant I think! Also fit the new bilstien shocks thinking they would lower it by an inch but it Is exactly the same haha. Nice ride quality though! :D
  6. yep they are very bad - I would only ever get a used MAF if I replaced mine again as I tried an "OEM" chinese one and it made the car undrivable on boost.
  7. Thanks Si! Man such hard work!! Annoyingly i really want to start again as i think i could do such a better job second time around with the lessons learned - might end up swapping out for a set of the recaros at some point and will do It then!
  8. So, finally managed to get the seats done!!!! Hands are red raw and a few bits left to tweak and change but glad to have it all back together! I am going to build the sound system before working on the interior again. Picking up the wood router and cables for speakers and amp next weekend
  9. looks very nice... I am tempted to get a set myself
  10. The 95 has a nice veilside :)
  11. had a good quote from your guy, so just waiting for some prices for the other little bits and bobs that need spraying too and will go form there! London prices seem too high. Had another quote for bumper wheels and some lacquer / scratch removal of £1500! :s crazy
  12. Have you paid him yet?... I would pull out, get the wheels and not to pay or get a refund as he hasn't be able to supply an advertised service.
  13. Hi Simon, Thanks for the reply, and I can see what you mean about the bolster fabric now. Once I put this together it had a very retro feel to it, the photos don't show the colour properly, but I completely get what you are saying and to be honest I think I will the same. I wanted to have a shot at workign with some soft fabric as leather is such hard work, and also have a try at making my own pattern :) but yeah i probably won embark any further down this route, and certainly not before I have finished the driver seat in the leather set
  14. If it is alcantara and you want to diy it then I would wipe with a damp warm cloth, and then use a soft brush.
  15. Thanks Ian it's appreciated! :) Thanks to Ash for these seats - mocked up th new fabrics and the result is something very different to the leather... I think I like it but no completely sure yet. What's people's opinions?! And this was the WIP step creating the pattern for anyone interested
  16. You would be able to drive it theoretically but you are placing your life in the fate of a few bolts rather than having the wheels fixed to the hub properly as a single unit. if you imagine the weight of teh car is essentially being supported by the shaft of the bolts. You will also find it is hard to balance them and you may get some shudder in breakign or at speed. All in all, just not worth it! You can get rings to push into the allow wheel for a few quid from ebay which will do the job. Just make sure that they fit all the way inside the alloy wheel. If they extrude outside of the alloy then the wheel wont sit flush on the hub and you will again be relying on the bolts alone to hold the wheel on! :)
  17. Awesome fun! enjoy :D benefit of 4wd being that you can actually use a lot of that power I imagine? There is a mean looking supra with a claimed 750BHP on ebay at the mo which I would LOVE as a toy :p
  18. What a beaut!! If it was turbo that would be a killer.
  19. Yeah that cluster looks brilliant! You KNOW you want to do the dash in leather Si :p I'm going to do some tests at some point.
  20. Cheers buddy going to send him some pics to get a quote :)
  21. I would be tempted to do a leather wrap on the dash with french seams as the detailing.
  22. That would be brilliant! Could I get the details mate?
