Hi Guys, Blooming buys week! So after the police told me they weren't interested anymore as they had "no more lines of investigation" I started my own.. The shop I was parked outside of seemed to have CCTV so I spoke the the owner and had them look through.. Low and behold a bunch of yobs with baseball caps and Tesco bags smashing it off. Footage too blurry to pick out faces but I bet you tesco has some decent Hi Res footage of them buying their 6 pack of fosters... So emailed the officer again and it was picked up the following day by my local constabulary. They are now going to get the footage and find out what happened and see if they know the kids, and put out a message to spot them in the local area. So all in all more help than I thought they would be! Now I just have to fix the bloody thing. Hoping I can get some advice... The wing mirror itself is Okay, but the wires are snapped off at the base of the mirror, and there is a cylindrical metal "thing" that also seemed to have snapped... I imagine this is what rotates them? Also, a bunch of electrics have gone down with it.. Interior clock, rear windscreen wiper, and intermittent front wiper settings and screen was settings no longer work! Would these have been on the same circuit as the mirrors? I imagine it has just shorted out, or that there is no longer an earth to complete the circuit (I know nothing about electrics so that could be nonsense!) If anyone has the motor etc they are willing to sell that would be awesome!! Best regards, W

Well you will love the drive back! Awesome car and well worth the money. Let us know what you think. Also when you get it home please shed some light on the exhaust setup as it sounds great (in my opinion), a lot meatier/gruntier shomehow compared to my japspeed which is very deep and burbly.

Hi Guys. Just finally managed to visit the Yellow Zed. As people have mentioned respray in a better yellow, engine bay is pale yellow. In summary a really nice car, here are the positives and negatives. Positives: - Exterior is perfect, no rust I can see apart from surface rust on exhaust mid section perhaps. - Wheels/tyres look alright. - bodywork all seems straight and true. - Seller seems genuine with reason for sale. - interior is ACE! Really nice genuine leather smell similar to that of my brothers 911. Very very clean inside. - Gearbox feels VERY tight, and nismo shifter makes the shifts feel shorter. No rattles etc. - Engine starts pretty much straight away cold and hot. - Engine is silky silky smooth!! - Exhaust sound is really nice. Great powerful note without being overly loud. - Pulls hard with minimal lag - No smoke hot or cold, and no noticable smoke on or after boost. - No noise from stock suspension. Smooth ride. Negatives beyond whats already mentioned in ad: - when you blip the throttle it bogs down before picking up. most noticable and idle/low revs. - Water dripping from passenger sun visor fitment. (only minor though as it has been a wet day). - minor oil leak mentioned in past few MOTs. no noticeable drips but possible a bit of damp on underside of engine... Hard to tell though on a wet day. - Seemed to pull to left, but could be bad tyres (at least a few years old). - Boot seemed to be missing a bit of trim under spoiler, 1inch gap between lights and boot lip. Possibly swapped at some point. He mentioned there was some kind of oil pump cut off switch installed at some point, but has never been touched.. Sounded odd. So yeah I would buy it if I didn't have my Zed, will be a sound investment for someone I reckon!

Wish that was the case mate - was the pavement side so it would have taken a lot of work to smash it of. Haha yeah haters...

So a spot of bad luck... I park on the high street opposite my flat at night and last night someone decided to rip my passenger wing mirror off (from the pavement side) and leave it on my roof. It literally the whole thing has been sheared off. What a way to start the day :( Sitting outside the police station at the moment waiting for it to open.... fingers crossed they can help. What is it that drives people to be such ********?

I do prefer a nice 280Z I must say. The Z31 shape has never done it for me.

AARGGG!!! So i went to get my new fuel Pump ECU back and see if there were any burnt bits or dry solder. Thought would try once more to earth/bypass my old one... first attempt nothing (I am not splicing into the cable as I don't trust myself to not cut straight through it). second attempt - Bingo! Runs fine... Unattached the earth and tried it again... Fine! And again, and again. Tried the other fuel pump ecu I bought and again fine!... Okay something is not right here. Just been for a drive around town for a bit of a blast and she is fine. Also my driver side window is now working whereas it had stopped working for the last couple of months... must be coincidence right? Really not sure what to make of this.. Could it really be just an intermittent CAS or something? and just by virtue of sitting there turning the key on and off a hundred times it ended up waking up? Think I can safely rule out the Fuel Pump Control Module though. Could this be the Fuel Pump Relay? Don't think it explains the fuel cut I experienced during driving a few times, but could explain the hard start. If anyone has one laying around I will buy :) none on the bay at the moment.

hmm picked up another FP ecu and not fixed :( not sure why it worked when I first earthed the FPCM because it sure as hell wont work now. Fuel pump primed today but then died straight away again :s Do the fuel pumps go on these cars? Cant find any info about it as a common thing. Is it worth jumping the fuel pump relay or is that what we are doing by bypassing the fuel pump ecu? Maybe it is the CAS after all... I am going to get my mechanic to look at it I think :( Getting some serious zed withdrawal right now!!

the question is... Can I get to work (50miles) running without a Fuel Pump ECU?... Apparently it will just idle a bit rich as it is runnign at the full 12v constantly. I am going to get one asap in the next few days anyway. Any thoughts?...

Solved!... thanks to medallion man and lymon! :) FPCM at fault. Bypassed it and she primed straight away. The hint for me was that it still wasn't priming today after sitting for two days! So that wouldn't be CAS, so got some wire and did a quick bypass and all good. Med PM your way and some rep :)

Just tried it again after 3 hours... no fuel prime, but started and then stalled. This is a video of it subsequently cranking...

hmm yeah okay sounds similar! So is the tach meant to register something whilst cranking??... I thought that was only in the on position, not start.
