  1. But who wants to pay 6k for an auto NA?..... There was one on Gumtree in southampton I think last week with 18k miles from new, and asking price was around 1.5k I think!
  2. Excellent thank you very much!!
  3. Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a good xmas!! I am getting far too used to laying in, going to kick me in the teeth come the 2nd of Jan when I am back to work!! so I was wondering if these will fit the Zed as I heard both the R32 and Zed use the same sus?.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R32-GTST-GTS-T-89-94-ADJUSTABLE-COILOVER-LOWERING-SUSPENSION-KIT-/360660918091?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ANissan|Model%3ASkyline&hash=item53f910df4b Best, William.
  4. Yeah, weather got pretty bad by time I was home, accidentally ploughed trough a couple of huge puddles and has only started since then! Might be a stone wedged somewhere and when the suspension lifts slight the angle makes it rub.
  5. Here they are! Now just some lower to be done and it will be sweet. Prefer these to the wolfrace wheels, much simpler and forged to will last. What do you reckon to the look?
  6. Ok yeah good idea., will do next time I have some light. Read that it could be the LSD, but it has started pretty suddenly - sounds as if a brake disc/pad is worn through and rubbing metal on metal. Thanks for the spacers mate and pleasure to meet you.
  7. Hi guys, So my new wheels are on and everything is pretty much perfect, apart from one thing I just noticed... When driving slowly (10mph) and turning left sharply there is a grinding noise coming form the rear left wheel... I can't put my finger on what it could be, the new wheels have plenty of clearance of the callipers and it doesn't happen turning right... Any thoughts? Hoping it isn't going to be something like the diff on it way out or something like that.... I imagine it is due to something that happens when the weight shifts rather than the angle of the front wheels as it definitely sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side. Best. William.
  8. Wohoo all sorted! Thanks for teh advice - Got some heat on the rings and after a lot of work they finally moved. Smashed a couple of screw drivers in the process but worth it. Also Z32Bolt gave me some 5mm spacers for the fronts so she is sitting nicely! No funny vibration or pulling to the left. Happy days! :)
  9. Yeah if you are worried about it sitting still it is best to leave it be for 6 months which a battery trickle charge and then just replace the oil before taking it back on the road as starting it up every now and then only builds more condensation apparently.
  10. This is why I love you guys!... I have tried whacking it pretty damn hard but will get some heat on it!! :)
  11. I guess my quesiton being, do they make Alloy spigot rings which could have just been left in for years and now just don't want to budge?!
  12. Do you reckon they are just aftermarket spigots??? They seem as if they are part of the wheel, I have been at them with a hammer etc, and can't tell if they were just how the wheel was originally forged? - They are made of some kind of alloy as I took a screw driver and hammer to one and managed to cut through from one side to the other, but still didn't notice any signs of it being an aftermarket spigot?... That would make life easier though!! - I have a blow torch somewhere!
  13. Fixed?... Bottom pic has no spigot ring, top one does...
  14. argg Okay done some more investigating and it seems that 3 of the wheels has spigot rings forged as part of the wheel, and 1 of them doesnt (perhaps had it lathed off)... Sound like I will be heading down the metal fabricators shop Monday mornign and asking them to do some grinding for me. Putting a couple of photos up in case anyone can suggest anything else.. Shows the difference between the wheel which has a ring in place and one which doesnt. I just don't get why the wheels would come like that as standard... Best, W
  15. Hi guys, Picked up some wheels last night from a guy who said they had come off a 300zx. Looked nice and they are smart, but I have run into issues today fitting them... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-Rays-Volk-Racing-Staggered-Wheel-Size-Set-Forged-Jdm-Toyota-Honda-Nissan-/161168207151?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=ADolq46RrhDq1iv49XKgNhLQc4Q%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc So the center bore is 72mm which is fine, I have spigots for that. it seems that the rears have very shallow bores! So the Zeds rears have a 10mm deep spigot, but these wheels only have around a 5mm deep bore, and part of it is chamfered (see pic)... This means that I can put a 5mm spacer on to get the right depth, but then with my spigot ring on there is only a couple of millimetres of the wheel bore touching the spigot.... is that an issue?! If I use hubcentric spacers to fix the depth and make sure they are torqued on properly will this be a risk or should I be OK? I guess i Could potentially have them machined so that the lip which stops the Zeds hub spigot sitting flush could be lathed out to 66.06mm? Also if anyone has any 5mm hubcentric spacers I will happily buy them at the drop of a hat?? Best regards, William.

  17. Hi Mate, I had a good friend and mobile mechanic cut out a re-build sills on my prelude a couple of years ago, charges £35 per hour + parts and has been in the business for around 20 years. I had to have the sprayed afterwards but he did a cracking job and looked like new afterwards!! His name is Jason, let me know if want his number? He is local to the Bournemouth / Southampton area but may be able to travel seeing as he is mobile.
  18. haha noooooooo :p If you ever spot a Rosso Red one which won't need painting then give me a shout :p
  19. So most of them are all snuggled up for winter, although mine has to be kept in an open garage so she will be a bit cold.... She has just been Mot'd, had some new suspension parts fitted ready for a full setup, and new wheels will be coming. My list for the winter: - Possible car cover. - Attack some of the underneaths surface rust and Under seal (Hopefully do able?) - If I get rich source 99spec bumper. - If I don't get rich then touch up my current bumper and maybe have the body shop blow over a few areas on the body to cover stone chips. - Have a shot at a retrim to update the interior! - excited about this one. Will source an old interior and re-trim in alcantara. On the topic of the re trimming this is a brill time lapse of a full interior retrim. Great results!! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2401575 I will probably go for a black or navy blue, along with some gear stick and handbrake gaiter in black with red stitching.. yum! So what does everyone else have planned?? William.
  20. Hi Dan, Glad your car is fixed now!! :) Very envious of that blue 99spec front bumper.... and EXACTLY the colour of my car.... Now if you ever don't get round to fitting it be sure to message me! ;) Not too sure about teh stick on red parts, going to retrim mine in Alcantara. Good luck with it! :)
  21. Thanks for the replies! - I replaced tension rod bushes but not hub ball joints so far..
  22. Hi mate, Thanks for the reply - I replaced the tension rod bushes for Poly bushes last month so they should be okay I think, although swapping them for adjustable arms this week along with adjustable camber arms. I will look into the hicas lockout then :) Best regards,
  23. Hi guys, Just got her MOTd. Very happy she went through first time as it is our first MOT together. Few advisories, which would be grand to have some advice on as one of them I have never come across before... main question is how bad are these, and could any of them lend themselves to the car pulling to the left?.. see attached image. The rear rack ball joint (as far as i grasped from my mechanic) was a central ball joint which had some movement, does that sound right? and is it worth locking the hicas to stop these issues happening? Hope it isn't too large job. best, William.
  24. I have always thought it is a bit of a con really, some of the best cars ever made offering teh best driving experience possible don't have traction control or launch control, I have always used it as an excuse to become a better driver :p
