TT regular Idle misfire - but no smoke & runs great (video)
Yeah I have just read about them... I didn't realise there was such a thing! I have asked a few people locally that had cars sitting there bring sold (and offered cash for their time ) but none were interested in letting me try theirs out :( I'm gonna have to try and get my money back I think but reckon that is going to be hard :( Also put a message on the forums asking if I could try anyone's but no takers yet! Best regards, William

TT regular Idle misfire - but no smoke & runs great (video)
PLEASE HELP??... So I just took it for a drive after letting the ECU reset after teh batt being unplugged for an hour. man it runs like ASS!!!! any throttle means it bogs down BAD, and then I tried slowly accelerating in 2nd and at about 4.5k it was like hitting a brick wall!... Is this just the ECU needing to re-learn or is this some other issue?! And if it does need to re learn what is teh best way to do that? as it stand it is almost un drivable. This is with a supposedly brand new MAF in it. Before this it was a bit lumpy on idle but wouldn't ever hesitate or bog down, this is crazy and pretty worrying :( Any advice would be much appreciated as at the moment I have a long list of other things to get sorted on it ASAP including brakes, a clunking noise under braking (started today) and severely pulling to teh left. best regards, William.

TT regular Idle misfire - but no smoke & runs great (video)
Ahh no not yet, I will do that this week. But have a reasonable result so far! Tonight on gumtree found a brand new maf and loads of other bits for £60 and it was just round the corner from me !! Just installed into car and the rough idle is considerably reduced, by about 80% at least. It seems to REALLY big down around 3k rpm when you tweak the throttle, and smells MAJORLY of fuel, is this due to over fuelling where the ecu is now making it run lean??.... I have unplugged the battery to reset the ecu and tomorrow a bit if a drive will hopefully relearn the ecu with a working nF, unless this is some other issue uncovering itself?!?! Ahhhgggrtr! Really hoping it wil be fine

Hi Guys, Ok i have had an air leak in the vac system fixed, cleaned the MAF but the issue is still here. Thing is if the MAF is unplugged then there is no missfire or rough idle at all!... I reckon that points to a bad MAF? If it were coils or injectors/electric related then it would be consistent right? Best, William.

Laquer Peel
So can you wet and dry it, then spray a can of lacquer over it for a good few coats, then use running compound after a week to blend it in completely?

car still pulling left
Hello, be interesting to see if you find the cause!.... Mine does this too. I replaced worn tie rod end bushings this week, wen tto an "alignment" and it is still terrible!... have to hold wheel at 2 o'clock position to go straight. The wheel place just used lasers and changed the front wheels angle to line everything up to 5mm as apparently that means it is straight, but I am concerned that they didn't do anything to the rear wheels?...

Faulty MAF?.. Anyone have one?
Hi everyone, My air leak weas fixed this week finally, WOHOO!!! turned out to be some kind of bypass pipe or something?... all the way from the manifold down to the something or other... had to take radiator out and everything to get to it! I was hoping this would fix my rough idle/misfire, but alas it is still there :( When I unplug the MAF the rough idle goes completely, could this just be a dodgy MAF??.. If so does anyone have one I could borrow and/or potentially buy in order to test this theory?.. Would love to test this out before actually buying the part as I know this can be a long road of buying a number or parts to try and find the culprit! All the best, William.

Light throttle misfire
I believe unplugging maf will always send it into limp mode and stop it going over 2.5
-
Light throttle misfire
Oh that's interesting - if I unplug mine it runs smooth as anything!... Maybe something to do with it?!

Light throttle misfire
Might be worth unplugging your MAF sensor too (under nose cone).. See if it stops the misfire then? could be a leak in your vac system.

leather vs cloth?... Lower ride?
Ah nice! I test drive one with those seats but they looked a bit shabby although they were comfy and low! Pretty rare. Shame the car attached to them was a dog! Mine are manual seats, although just read that the interior is a very rare blue tweed so I am more inclined to keep it now - although it is starting to smell funny :s need some febreeze maybe?...

leather vs cloth?... Lower ride?
Haha. I don't think my seats have height adjustment?........ or if they do then I am pretty sure I have them low already. Will have to test at the weekend against other peoples.

Haha - I used to run a sound and lighting / events production company http://www.sfxevents.com before my business partner turned into a cheating *******.....that particular flightcase holds a pair of 50" tvs ;)

leather vs cloth?... Lower ride?
hmmmmmm I just went through 10 pages of discussions about seats and can't find the one referenced.. Perhaps I can test this theory at teh Yeovil meet next weekend. any excuse to sit in other Zeds

leather vs cloth?... Lower ride?
Hahaha thats brilliant! Be great to know how much truth is in this, but I definitely thought mine seems higher than a lot of others I have driven, but couldn't tell if it was just me making it up in my head!! Hmmmm UK seats it is then!!! but yeah I agree with you spin doctor, makes sense :)

OK..who was it?
wow was not expecting that price..... seems a lot to me! I am running stock and admittedly they feel like toy car brakes, but I guess if you are racing etc then they are worthwhile.

so typically after a couple days labour and money on a sander etc I find a replacement blue spoiler for £30 haha... bugger! Well looks like I will now have the choice :p

leather vs cloth?... Lower ride?
Hello everyone! so what's your favourite and why? I always loved leather but my Zed has cloth currently and I quiet like it... Grips you in the corners! Is a navy blue which is smart too, but still considering picking up leathers this weekend... question is, would leather be lower than the cloth? I changed seats in my old E36 328i to leathers and they were considerably lower/sportier! If the only difference is my ass is going ot slip all over the place then I probably won't bother, but if they feel sportier and lower then I will be very tempted! best regards, William.

Cheers mate. Ahh that is strange, I guess like you say it must just be the plastic breaking down. Thanks for teh heads up. Shame but its ok because Zeds look great without a spoiler anyway! :)
