  1. what would your suggestion be Dan? you are in same position with me as you have the Blue bumper going on to your red car right?
  2. I said I would fit the bumper so not too much work for them, pretty much mint OEM 99 spec. Although it is red and needs to be stripped. Had a professional job though so shouldn't need any repairs etc. 2k in comparison for a full respray actually seems decent.
  3. Hello! Spoke to to respray shop today and just want to know if what I was told is accurate and reasonable! I have a blue zed. I have an oem 99 spec front bumper in red which needs a respray. The guy said that it would be around 600 to respray the bumper as they wouldn't be able to get get very goo colour match - it will always look darker and stand ou apparently unless they did considerable blending work up through th fenders. Does this so correct? I just wonder as in the past I have been quoted 300 quid for colour matched respray and he didn't mention anything about having to blend or it being a different colour. Also, he suggested th best thing to do would be a full respray (which I do agree with) which would cost around 2k. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  4. Also, thanks for the comments guys! Looking forward to some photos of the finished product
  5. Hola! Settled in to the new house and have started back on this set! So my aim is to finish this leather set asap, but also I was inspired by the Type R seats and the textured fabric used, so went fabric shopping and going to experiment a little... this is quite a cool texured woven fabric which changes colour slightly at an engle due to the 3d texture. Also I have a woken charcoal to finish the bolsters with. The leather seats are currently just having the rear seats trimmed up and fit, and then need to finish the front . Seat rear panel and they should be good to go :) - - - Updated - - - For some reason my camera gives everything a red tint.
  6. Hello! I have some new fabric that I would like to try out on a new set of seats.. i don't want to remove my current seat covers, so would like to buy either a drivers or passengers (or both) seat. As longas teh the foam is in good condition I will take it :) Based in london Thanks!
  7. Hiya, I am living in south London near Wimbledon and have email all the respray shops I can get on google and no one has replied - Does anyone know of one which is reputable around the London area? I am looking for a Front bumper respray from red to blue, touch up on various panels that have lacquer peel, and some wheels doing. Best regards, William.
  8. Nice read thanks for the share! Think I love my Zed more every month that goes by. Love the link to the MID4-II. Just been reading up on it and it now seems to make more sense why the 300 has such a great interior and luxury spec as I lot was borrowed from the developmen developmen that car.
  9. Hi Si, I am thinking about it Recaro Speeds, and wondering how you find them in terms of comfort compared to the original ones, and do you know if they sit higher or lower? Did you have to have anythign fabricated to fir them to the runners? Best regards, William.
  10. Hi Guys, So a work opportunity has come up in Landan, so in two weeks i will be leaving the lovely new forest and heading to west London (Earlsfield). I have a strong base down here so will always be back and really hope to make some of the new forest shows next summer!! Also thanks to everyone who has helped me and the Zed out over the past few years, namely Stephen for his generosity. don't have a driveway or garage in the new place, so I will be getting a car cover and maybe looking at renting a garage. But it is down a quiet close so hopefully she will be okay. Not the ideal place to go out for a nice relaxing Sunday drive but hey... Here's to the London Zeds!! (he says with gritted teeth)
  11. Hello Guys, I am picking up the red 99spec number in a week, but I just thought it would be worth a quick mention that if anyone has a blue one they would like to swap for a red one then I would be up for it haha... I think Dan used to have one he was going to spray red but he doesn't seem to be around anymore. So on the off chance :D Otherwise I will have it resprayed soon.
  12. look forward to the build but gold isn't to my taste... but if you are building your dream machine :D I wonder how it would affect the value as it seems to split opinions so much!
  13. excellent news and can't wait to see the build progress! :) Roughly how much should one put aside for a full respray? Looking to get a colour change in a year or so.
  14. so gutted for you Lee, this was my favourite build on the forum this year. all the best, W
  15. flew through MOT today with an advisory for rear tires - Never let me down in 3 years! Definitely the most reliable car I have owned.
  16. Hi guys, Selling my LWB Japspeed catback now I have the new exhaust. Needs a clean and I will try and take photos and clean it at some point but don't have much time or room these days. Priced to sell :) Ideally collection, but can post if you have to, although is quite heavy! I am based in Southampton.
  17. Haha yeah it was a bargain, having a lot of fin with it now :) If you search for anything on ebay there is a button near the top saying save this listing. From there you can set up email notifications :)
  18. Hi Tazino. I was in the same dilemma as you a few months back and decided the price of a badly fitting diy kit form the USA etc was not worth the risk! I decided to invest in a sewing machine and try and learn some of the skills myself, and so far it is going well. I plan to do all the seats and interior panels and probably dash as well, but be under no illusion it is a huge job! I have been going at it for over a month and so far have one and a half seats made :) Very rewarding though. I have a thread in the general discussion forum that you may want to check out. It has proved to me that I wouldn't want to risk it on a DIY kit from the states though as the foam of the seats is in variable condition, and I am always tweaking bits to make sure they fit as well as they can. In my opinion go for a trimmer like Mondo if you want a great finish... or get the skills to make your own and accept that some bits may be worse than others :D Best regards, William
  19. Thanks guys. It's the only real bug bear with this car so ill try and get jimmer to look at it sometime soon! :) thanks for advice
  20. Hi all, to bring an old thread back from the dead a bit... ‎ Summing up previously I did a couple of oil changes with decent oil, and is has been good all summer. Probably only covering a few hundred miles really. Last night drive 50 miles and everything was lovely, I park it outside my house on a bit of a hill (facing up the hill). This morning I head to the station (5 miles) and when I park up I notice it is ticking pretty badly! There is also a very slight knock although I can't tell if this is just resonation from the exhaust.... :( *‎ Could this be oil starvation of some sort from parking on a hill?* I live and work near Southampton, who would be a good shout to take it to for a health check?!... happy to go some distance but want this checked out now as it is making me paranoid :(
  21. just saw that.. Really nice example!! I would have jumped on it if I didn't have my blue one.
  22. let me know if you need an ECU, I have one laying around here!
