Average MPG
My zed import SWB TT does 260 miles to a tank. Thats with a boost controller and 99% of the time turned off - safety boost. Thats commuting with lots of stop and go which is not great for a big turbo engine. In Miss Daisy Mode i got 410 miles to a tank going to and from Cardiff at 60mph. But if you want a true sportscar you pay for it, nuff said :)

One for the hardcore weight savers
I am thinking of getting bucket seats but i have a ergonomic problem of that all the women i date have huge arses

halfords story
Well Halfords pay a pittance for the wretchs working there so i never expect anything out of them. I tried to explain this to punters when i worked at Texas Homecare DIY when i was a student. If they got stropy i said 'hey im on £3.80 an hour what do you expect'. If you go into almost any shop expecting sound advice your on thin ice lol. Though Richer Sounds are good.

Noisy lifters??
I dont know what to say about your tapping problem but if the engine has been neglected your cam belt might snap soon which = trashed engine..

Wayoil'ing underneath
I have had my import zed tt for a year now and i am conscious that the wet salty roads could start eating away the underneath of the car. If i jack the car up and slap on some waxyoil rust proof with a brush will that do the job or should i take it to a garage for them to spray the stuff on?

New dashboard pic.
That is top banana, excellent. I am going to buy a 2nd dash and do the same myself :)

steering wheel judder
In my case for a long time my zed was lowered but the camber was not corrected so eventualy the front tyres warped and made the front judder after 50mph. Quite dangerous. Got it sorted with front upper adjustable suspension links and new tyres.

top speed?
I read somewhere that is you can get your zed TT to 7000rpm in 5th gear it will hit 195mph.. is this true?

Is 140,000 miles too high???
I would get another one with less than 70K miles. Its really variable how long turbos can last but with 140Kmiles on the clock they must be on the way out.

Headunit Problems
I fried my Sony CD head unit so i wanted something big and clever so i got this:- Got it from ebay for a modest £114. Will need to hack the centre centre console panel but it will go in :)

Need a new sign in my car...
Its great that the lower part of a standard bumper is rubberised as i often bounce it of kerbs when parking lol

Falken FK-451`s v FK-452`s
451's are teh bomb. When my zed looses grip its gradual with a timely squel. But i -really- have to pull a sharp turn for the car to loose it. When i got my zed it felt like a worn welly now with the suspension and tyres sorted its poised and sure.

Engine Oil Debate Again!!!!!
I use Shell fully synthetic 10W-40. I figure as they are a huge oil company they can brew some good oil. And i change oil every 3000 miles. Next time is this weekend!
-
Wheels sizes?
The well regarded Falken 451's have two channels down the middle of the tyre to help against aqua planing. But the zed never will be a truely well handling car in the wet.

UK breakers
Checkout http://www.247spares.co.uk/ Its uses a network of many garages and scrap yards in the UK. I got a 2nd hand clutch slave unit from it. I think with 2nd hand zed parts you need to think is what your after a highly stressed component - like a turbo or engine. if it is you need to tread carefully.

Vx220
I would have a VX220 as a 2nd car runabout. But my zed is my only and main car so i like some creature comforts and to be able to sling my huge PC in the boot for LAN parties.

uk zeds
Got my zed imported from Japan. Saw loads of bad ones for sale in UK so i twiddled my thumbs for 4 months while i got a mint one imported for £5800 with a 6 month warranty - that paid for a new clutch :)

300zx = One of the 25 most beautiful cars ever made
... though i also think the Citroen CX and XM are attractive too :mac1:

300zx = One of the 25 most beautiful cars ever made
Tis true the 300ZX turns head like no other car. I love its predatory look, see it in your rear mirror and you know there is a car that means business :smash:

Hallelujah! my zed can fly round bends
I have 245/45/16's all round. Got the last pair for the rear last weekend.

Hallelujah! my zed can fly round bends
Now i have Falken 451's all round on my lowered zed SWB TT i took the chance last night to see how good the grip and corniering ability is. And by gum its good. I can weave the car through bends and roundabouts quickly. And where i did push it a bit to far the loss in traction was gradual with a nice squel from the tyres to warn me. The handling is not in the same league as one of the 4x4 rally car scoobies i suppose but for thrills per pound i am very happy :)

Disable ABS?
Last April i was in Germany for work and getting a taxi to the hotel. The taxi was a Mercedes E class, very nice. It had snowed heavily and when this Merc went down this cobble paved road the car could not stop at all. You could hear the ABS going 'thump thump thump' as it tried to stop the wheels from skidding which it could not. My previous car was a Peugout 406 Hdi. The ABS was the most aggressive i have come across. The car often skidded on the road when i braked heavily.
-
Disable ABS?
Indeed, when i crashed my zed 12 months ago i reacted poorly. If it happened again i would slam on the brakes and let the ABS do the work. ABS stays on :)
-
Disable ABS?
A mate of mine says that ABS blunts the breaking performance of a sports car and good manual breaking is better. Is this true and how do i go about disabling the ABS with possibly renabling it. My stock zed brakes are naff. I might be getting Smity's big brake kit soon.

Annoying Habits Poll
Middle lane hoggers are a good reason to have Sidewinder missiles fitted on my zed. B@st@rds!
