FAO all IT professionals...
mmm, there are a lot of people with MCSE's that are awfull comptuer techies. It depends on the employer. Large corporates will like MCSE's and people with little experience they can mould fit in a certain shaped hole so to speak so they can be controlled easily. Whereas other employers will go for experience first.

FAO all IT professionals...
Its best to gear yourself as a total solution provider like my mate is. So you need web front end, java, php, .net middle end and SQL backend skills. MCSE's is for IT plumbers like me but if your doing devlopment go for a MSCD which is for devlopers. I hate academic work, as soon as i pick up a text book i fall asleep and i never really been able to afford a 'boot camp'. But im more managerial nowadays.

Excel password problem
By default passwords use no encryption which are a doddle to crack with a utillity. The strongest 128bit encryption option is impossible to crack.

NZ - Citroen Xantia electrical problem
Well the Xantia's black magic still lives. Pop joined the AA last night and got them to diagnose that the starter motor was duff. It's been replaced and the car is once driving. Odd though as last night the starter motor was able to jerk the engine when we tried to start it in gear. Ah well it was a cheap repair.

NZ - Citroen Xantia electrical problem
Ah we did check the dip stick and there was no white or yellow goo on it. I think steam came out of the bonnet as it was white, it had a rubbery smell so it probably came out of the water hoses.

NZ - Citroen Xantia electrical problem
I did put it in reverse trying to do some silly jumpstart and it did roll back so its not seized. Our best guess is that the head gasket has gone. This Xantia has been driven into the ground. Its done 150K miles. Maybe its finaly given up the ghost.

NZ - Citroen Xantia electrical problem
Sorry to ask about a pretty french tin shed but its my dad's :) I was driving my dad's Citroen Xantia turbo diesel ('93). When driving back home only the headlights worked. After 2 miles all the electrics stopped working and lots of white smoke came out of the bonnet. So i stopped the car. Until i did that the car rann fine. I tried to start the engine but it would not turn over. Me and dad used a charged spare battery but it would not turn over. Once we tried to start the engine in gear. The engine bucked back on its mounted that would seem to indicate the starter motor is ok. Any ideas plz.

Seal making drivers side window pop out at top
When the door is open the glass window goes up and is lined up fine with the pillar next to it. And i have the door card of as i am removing the tweed of it for red vinyl. To my novice eye it all looks ok.

Seal making drivers side window pop out at top
The seal on the drivers side removable targa top is making the drivers side window pop out. At high speed i get a loud whistling noise and water gets inside with heavy rain. Anything i can do with the warped seal or should i get a new one?

Scariest film at the moment
Ok ok, two scariest films i have ever seen are Alien as a kid and The Exorcist not that long ago. Not really because of they were gory but because of the implied terror. Exorcist made me poops my pants. Both films are not that scary now.

Strangest bird you've ever pulled?
Ive met lots of lasses through the Internet. For some reason god match's me with ladies of larger proportions, not that i mind though. Craziest was mad mandy who i have mentioned before. We had a great time but it went all bad with her chasing me with a carving knife and slashing my tyres (not on a zed!). But we still chat now and then. We are distant friends now. She was a top woman really. But she had always been treated like shit by men so she could never trust them, ack. But she always had such love for her kids and other people. So when i see career zombie wench's who start moaning i want to give em a slap. I have seen dozens of women but the glory is fleeting as im lonlely now at 31. Really need a good woman now.

NZR: Ipod problems
Can you use your ipod with Firewire instead? I use Firewire as that recharges my ipod and USB does not. But i think Apple have made ipods to charge from USB now as well. I have installed Linux on my ipod to fully utillise the ipods potential, like being able to record audio at 44khz without getting some extra widget.

24/7 spares
I got a clutch slave unit through 24/7. I did think twice about giving my credit card details to some geezers from a garage up norf. I got them to phone me from a land line number asked for their email address then sent them credit card details on the email.

I really like that Fiesta :)

REALLY Easy Oil Question!
The cost of using good fully synthetic oil and changing every 3000 miles is really little compared to how it keeps the engine running fine and the cost of fuel. Its like tyres and other things, dont cut corners with maintenance on a zed as it costs more in the long run when it goes wrong.

Steering too light
Ah ok. I did the simple press a corner down and see if it rises up smoothly which it does. But the back is light. Nearly lost it last night going up a hill, back bolted but i got it back. Hmm new shocks.
