  1. My zed has done 50K miles, lucky me. Jap car engineering is awesome. So long as you dont rag them all the time they are fairly solid with good maintenance. AFAIK tubs normally go betweem 70k and 120k miles.
  2. Good news on the zed dude. Maybe we thought that just Impreza's were the crooks choice but our zeds are on the scumbags radar too. Time for a group buy on 'Chuck Norris drives this zed' stickers ;) I put a steering wheel lock on my car. Its only a deterrent though as i managed to get my old Halfords one of in 15 mins with practice after i lost all the keys lol. Imobiliser is a must too.
  3. Whoever did it deserves a good kicking and then some. I drive a SWB Manual TT and live 10 miles from Zedworld in Sutton Coldfield. I know of 3 other zedders i see from time to time. I will keep my ear to the ground.
  4. Xav2075, autotrader insurance, £465.09 FC (32, 4 NCB, 3 Points, Jap SWB TT) My zed is going back on the road next week yeeeeaaah baby!
  5. Ahaha talking about zed economy is always a laff. With my boost controller set to 'Off' (safety boost) i get 265 miles with £55 of fuel with commute and other general driving. Once i went to Cardiff in Miss Daisy mode and got 410 miles on a full tank doing a sedate 55mph all the way there and back.
  6. Leave the grey mastic on, dont take it off of you will end up in a pickle like i did having to get all the friggin stuff off . Took me ages lol.
  7. With the zed you should change your oil every 3000-5000 miles. Use fully synthetic. I am not sure if i should use a degunker bottle of stuff first. Not used one so far. Some people say its actually a bad thing if all the er gunk is removed.
  8. Get a magic tree air freshener - extra 20hp ;) Remove the HICAS system and gubbings with a fixed bar. I think race type cars have the fuel tank removed and a special safety(ish) one put inside. Also the battery goes inside. have a fuel and leccy shut off switch, valve.
  9. Its really simple. You do FA in the wet when driving a zed. Even in a straight line going up a hill on a wet road my back end twitches if i pump the throttle. Fear the zed and it wont bite your conkers off :)
  10. I would like a digital camcorder that records to hard disk and can be used a as webcam. Think there are these out there but i have not looked into it.
  11. I have been a tit and got a few scratches on my front bumper whilst working on the car. These scratches are quite deep with no paint underneath. Can i get a pen thingy to cover them up in wine red. Really annoyed with myself as these could have been avoided, another lesson learned.
  12. Paid £15 from scottburton@hotmail.com on paypal. My last subscription lapsed last year so i hope its not a problem renewing after many months. I can make up the £5 if need be. Thank you
  13. Shifting up to 3rd fast is tricky. Always needs more clutch but if you remember to do that its not a big deal.
  14. I will put some diodes on mine so the solar power only goes out.
  15. ROFL! Well they are not suppoed to do that. Blimey.
  16. That is gorgeous. How much dude?
  17. Well not quite but i have a brand new battery but if i leave my zed for 2 weeks i get a flat battery so i am getting a car solar panel car battery recharger. Dad has a clapped out Citroen Xantia that gets flat batteries so he is getting one too. £20 from Maplins :) http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=98358&C=Maplin&U=SearchTop&T=SOLAR&doy=12m4
  18. £70, i like :) I will put an order in through your uk website.
  19. £90 for Apexi kit for 300zx.. seems almost too cheap. Where does the lead for the air filter sensor plug into? When i crashed my zed 18 months ago i had to unplug that as i had an intercooler leak. The zed was barely driveable with the air filter sensor thingy plugged in.
  20. Howdy, what is a good performance air filter for a 300ZX TT? My zed is chipped and has boost controller. Standard air filter is nightmare to refit so i might as well get a custom jobbie.
  21. I want to remove the front fog lights as they look mucky and naff to clean them. I have broken the plastic lens on one oops trying to do this. How do i get them out and do they look much better with a clean. They look crappy anyway. Are there more jazzy upgrades that fit in the same space. I got some blue leds to put in them to replace the naff browny fog light look but i have decided the blue leds look to chav.
  22. Wicked. So our battle wagons wont get hit as bad :)
  23. Ive seen in the news that SUV's are going to get hammered for car tax. Up to £420. After the new budget. Is this based on emissions and if so how would a 300zx TT get hit. My car is of the road without an MOT and is still referenced as having '0' emissions from the importer. So i paid £175 for a 3.0L car last time.
  24. Oh yes zee gearknob can get hot from a good ragging in the hot weather. I have an alloy nob (ooer!) that keeps my hand warm in the winter.
