I`m looking to replace a set of tyres and have heard some good reviews of Falken FK-451`s, what is the difference between them and the FK-452`s??? Apart from price - the FK-452`s being a few quid cheaper (tbh I`m not too bothered about the price difference and I wouldn`t let it sway me from one brand to another unless it was a huge amount)

Has anyone used both if so which did you prefer??

Specifically I`m interested in wet weather performance ( I do live in Sotland after all  )

Also can anyone compare them with Toyo Proxes T1-R.

Apologise for bringing this subject up again as I seem to remember something similar not that long ago but cant find it now.

The 452's are just newer than 451's and possibly slightly different tread. i have 451's and I'm pleased with them, seem to grip well in all conditions and wear well too. Unfortunately I can't compare them to Toyo's. Legrath I believe has 452's he may be able to enlighten you more on those.

cool - thanks for the reply

anyone else???

Ive got 452's all round and i am pleased with them. Good all round conditions tyre IMO

I went from Proxes to 452's because i couldnt get 285's and to be honest they feel like the same tyres in the wet & dry.

THe 452's are the newer version of the 451 (not sure if they still make the 451, prob just surplus stock).

..and they are superb. Excellent dry and wet grip, very progressive, low noise, good ride...and wear rates seems pretty good too.

If you dont mind me asking, what size wheels have u got 285`s on and what is the profile size??

I think they are 8.5 front and 10 rear with 235/40/18 fronts and 285/35/18 rears, the cars off the road at the moment so i cant check for sure.

451's are teh bomb. When my zed looses grip its gradual with a timely squel. But i -really- have to pull a sharp turn for the car to loose it. When i got my zed it felt like a worn welly now with the suspension and tyres sorted its poised and sure.

Just wanted to say brilliant service from http://www.falkentyres.co.uk/ ordered them yesterday and they arrived today, no probs at all :)

Vjiay

Gave the girlfriend a shot and within 3 miles she had kerbed both ns wheels and cut the sidewall on a 265/35 18, 451. So now I'm trying 452s!

£230 for a new pair of rears - expensive wee shot!

looks like snow will be fun!! :(

Ive always used 451's till last renewal, now have 452's on rear, great grip/wear.

paid £138/pair fitted and balance at local falken dealer down here in sunny, no wet cornwall.

£138 a pair? what size?

just standard 225x50x16's

How did you find the Falkens on wear? What sort of mileage did you get out of a set?

easy15K-17K, slightly less on front due to wearing on inner edge.but grip is the thing.

rated at AA traction 280wear. so not bad for the money. nice tread pattern, with wheel protector strips on walls
