A bit pricey perhaps?
My Jap manual TT SWB import was in top condition and had only done 40K miles. Imported for £5800 including 6 month warranty which largely covered a clutch replacement. From my experience if you want a mint ZX and are prepared to wait 3-4 months get a jap Zed.

How do you.....
do a google and download Irfanview. It supports almost every image format there is and is good for resizing images. Its Freeware too.

A bit pricey perhaps?
If most people were like us devout ZX'ers then £9k would be a right price for it. But we have the best secret in high performance motoring so they are cheap and 5-6K is top price for a good stock car. :smash:

wood car ramps
Using the standard zx car jack and steel stands i can get my zx up enough so i can wiggle underneath the engine bay to do stuff. Its a good work out for the arms too lol. My zed is just 5" off the ground.

anti camera number plates. . . .
Perhaps if you put a perspex cover with 3" gap over the number plate that is slighty diffuse when a flash light hits the perspex cover it illuminates that and so obscures the number plate underneath.

Fuel RON: the results
Thinking about it when i first got my zed i got bp ultimate sometimes and the engine seemed to be holding back, perhaps some bad detinations, i thought i had an air leak in the turbo system. But i also Optimax all the time now and its sweet. Mines a jap import and maybe a bit more fussy. Ere if i put some octane booster with the optimax and reset the O2 sensors would i get more poke without dets?

My ZX TT import is in the £175 car disc bracket
My zed was imported in from Japan last september and according to the DVLA the CO 2 rating is 'O' with an engine capacity of 2996CC which means i will pay £175 for car tax not £210 :smash: To check yourself:- go to http://www.dvla.gov.uk --> English Version --> Taxing your vehicle online --> Apply for a tax disc online --> Vehicle Enquiry --> Enter your registration plate then choose Vehicle Make --> Next - et voila

tonight i wished i had a gto
Greasy roads scare the crap out of me. But i have these Jap Bridgestone G-grid tyres that should have been called 'Aquaplane surf board supreme'. Goodyear GSD3 Eagles are the No 1 big upgrade for me. Zedworld have commented mine is light at the back. Im thinking of putting some heavy bags of aggregate in the back lol.

Rear speakers
I had to rip out my original factory fitted 6x4 rear speakers with tin snips and my replacement Alpine 6x4 speakers only mounted across a diagonal on two screw holes. But as these speakers were not meant to kick out a lot of bass it was not a big problem. Pop the speaker covers with a flatblade screwdriver.

Removing engine under tray \ changing clutch slave unit
After some faffing about i got the 2nd hand clutch slave unit through 247spares.co.uk. Fitted it, bled both hydraulic lines with this bleeding widget from halfords that you put on a nipple it fills up with fluid and has a ball bearing that only allows air through. Filled up the single clutch hydraulic fluid tank with DOT 5.1 stuff from halfords and now the clutch works fine, the pedal has such a light action now wheras it was somewhat stiff before. I live with pop who was a sceptic about doing DIY stuff on the zed but now he is realising that is a lot you can do yourself :)

Removing engine under tray \ changing clutch slave unit
ahh i mean the dust ribbed cover on the outside that is on the other end from where the hose goes. Its on the same end as the piston thing that connects to the gearbox. If i get a 2nd hand unit that i will hope has on ok seal can i mount it to the gearbox with the two nuts without disturbing the seal? If anyone can sell me a brand new slave unit i will buy one but no one has answered my query for one in Items Wanted. Btw i really appreciate your help fellas :)

Removing engine under tray \ changing clutch slave unit
Ok examined the clutch slave unit and hose. Hose is ok but the slave unit has hydraulic fluid leaking from around the seal. The seal seems fine. Question is does the seal keep the fluid in? Cos i have ordered a 2nd hand slave unit but i wont get a new seal. If the 2nd hand slave unit is ok will a dirty but fine otherwise seal be ok?

Pneumatic Suspension
My dad has always brought Citroens and i love them too. Citroen BX GTI was good, in a citroen sort of way. But pneumatic suspension for a sports car - noo!

Who uses there TT as a Daily Driver?
I use my car everyday though i only have 125 miles a week driving for work. In the 5 months its been ok other than: clutch failure from factory fitted one after 40,000 miles, i crashed it duh!, gearbox slave unit failed last friday but this is relatively minor. The fuel economy is miserable but that goes with the territory of a 300hp uber GT. And for sheer smile on your face factor the ZX is great value.

Removing engine under tray \ changing clutch slave unit
If i get the front of the ZX on stands is it not hard to remove the engine under tray to get to the cutch slave unit and its piping?

Clutch cable replacement
Managed to drive the car 3 miles home with no clutch in 1st gear. Start the car in 1st gear it jumps forwards and drive at 30mph at 4500rpm trying not to wheelspin lol. Googling has found me a guide to bleed the hydralics and the slave unit seems to be fairly accesibile so i will give it a go with the front on some ramps.
