  1. RAC van turned up and lo he opened the top of a liquid bottle at the top leftish of the engine bay and it was empty. RAC dude said the hydraulic slave unit has failed. If i need a new gearbox slave unit thingy can i get one and fit it myself with the zed on ramps or is it a garage jobby. A call to Zedworld near Tamworth it looks like. Ho hum.
  2. This is a hoot. I am in my ZX waiting for the RAC van as i am very sure my clutch cable has snapped. I was fortunate to breakdown next to a house that has an open wireless switch so i can post this message lol. How easy is it to fit a new clutch cable? Thanks.. Scott, marooned but not out of the game yet
  3. Ah ok i will try Mister Minute then :)
  4. I went to Timpsons the key and shoe shop but they said they could not copy my 300ZX car key. Where can i get it copied? It does not look that different from common car keys. Not like some german car keys that have a windy channel cut into a rectangular stick of metal.
  5. I have a Japanese Sony GPS system with NTSC tuner and 7" monitor. How much is that work - £5 lol
  6. This is not for my ZX but for a work mate. She was unlucky to have her steel alloy wheels sprayed gold. Is there a cheapish way to get this removed? Thanks in advance
  7. Good luck
  8. ooh! i have not had any stickers yet and i subsribed last October. Gimme gimme! :)
  9. As my ZX is lowered its been recomended to me that i waxoil the underside once a year. When i drive it i can here the debris hit it it all the time so i think i will get it protected.
  10. The answer is probably no but can i put my ZX in a car wash without the rear spoiler getting ripped off or taking damage?
  11. If you want to run a VPN to need a central point that is the host and all traffic is routed through that. So say you have 4 PC's wanting to do stuff with each other across the Internet but as if they are in a LAN (but with internet speed) Then you need a host system with a static IP that has a fast connection . Upload speeds on non business broadband is naff. There are £100+ routers that have some sort of basic VPN capability or you could get some software to do it. Gimme a shout on Messenger thursday night as i am back from Germany late tonight.
  12. AMD 64 is the best bet. And with Quake Wars Enemy Territory supporting dual cores, multi threading the AMD 64 X2 is what i am getting in the next several months when i upgrade my P4 based games PC. Intel Xeons are poor compared to AMD Opterons
  13. Lotus Esprits of late used a Renault 25 gearbox which is like a stick in poo im told :x:
  14. Great Barr, blimey only 10 miles from me, I live in Sutton Coldfield. We could meet up for a jar or two perhaps. I strongly recomend you use Zedworld based outside of Tamworth for non trivial stuff. Jeff there has been up front with me and fitted me in for work when i had my two calamities of a dead clutch and a crash. Please dont crash yours dude - Zeds dont like the wet and no erratic throttle on any bend, keep it smooth. Is my humble advice.
  15. Congratulation dude. I am sure you felt king of the road when you drove the ZX for the first time ike i did when i did last October :)
  16. Congratulation dude.
  17. The Focus is supposed to handle really well but it looks sort of dull. I would get a Vauxhal VX220. Not remotely practical but you can wash down the interior with a hose if it gets dirty lol. I dont get the 'must buy a brand new car' thing. For the last 15 year cars have been put together ok. I would get a 3-5 year old 'practical' car anyday over a new car.
  18. ZX sounds great but its very 80's. Z is more minimalist and current, well some *****cks like that :)
  19. About £60 each i think but you have to be sure that its those rather than an air leak in the turbo systems
  20. O2 sensors can cause stuttering at 5000 revs but the root cause on mine was traced down to a leaky intercooler. If there is an air leak in any part of the turbo systems - piping, intercooler etc it can cause hesitation and stuttering of engine response. A conzult test looking at the Mass Air Flow Sensor graph results should indicate an air leak if there are abrupt spikes. I reset my O2 sensor learning every week with my Conzult. Seems to keep the engine smooth, but i could be imagining it!
  21. Haha it portrays the ZX as having faster than light capability in a cheesy mad max theme. Like it :)
  22. I like the CL500 dreadnoughts. To buy 2nd hand they quite cheap really compared to an SL. But the runnings costs are HUUGE!
  23. Before christmas i was getting of a motorway to the north of Paris in very heavy fog. The queue for the exit junction went some way onto the motorway. But there was total maniacs trying to jump the queue by pushing in right at the exit. Their cars were over two lanes of motorway still with 20m visibility at best. I was thinking 'i really dont need this shit!'.
  24. The center air vents are really naff. When i removed the centre console panel to work on the car stereo and drove around for a bit i noticed nice hot air coming out of the centre heating manifold hole. It seems that the heating manifold hole does not connect flush to the centre console panel so the air disperses inside the centre console rather than only being able to come out of the two air grilles.
