  1. I know what you mean Jeff, I too have have fallen foul of some unscrupulous folk, both on here and on e bay, (sometimes one and the same) talk about taking your money and run. Not on the same scale as dazzd, but never the less, bl@@dy hurts I hope you get it sorted dazzd. Fingers crossed for you mate.
  2. What exactly does that relay do? Also, where is it located? Would like to check mine out before it presents the same problem.
  3. Thanks Yowser. I appreciate your help! Tried a few more attempts at trying to get some consistent readings with the Trakrite tonight, not very consistant. Apparently, there are so many contributing factors such as tyre pressures, settling the suspension, to name but a few. I think I will wait until the weekend until I try again and combine the new readings along with some string measurements. Not sure I will ever be confident enough though.
  4. Not sure that I have been using this Trakrite plate correctly. Each time I check the tracking I get different readings!! Can anyone tell me if I should be aligning it with the side of the car in some way? up until now, I have been using a straight edge across the the rim of the rear wheel and aligning it to that by eye. Not sure if that is right now though!! Maybe I should string a line from the front wheels and align it to that? Help pleeeease.
  5. Cool Yowser, I hope to get some measurements done tomorrow night. I will report back. Hopefully with good news!
  6. Ok, at the risk of embarrassing my self, i think all 4 wheels are the same offset but with a shade wider tyres on the rear. Does that sound correct? If so, can I just measure the difference between front and rear wheels?
  7. Thanks Yowser. Not sure about the wheels, only thing I do know is that they are not original. 16" I believe. Speed line. Other than that I don't know. Sounds promising Mantav8. I am hoping to strike a line from the rear wheel to the front wheel and with a bit of luck will have the correct offset. If I get an equal reading from both sides and it tallies with your figures, hopefully I will be somewhere close.
  8. Can anyone tell me if the measurement across the width of the front wheel base and the rear wheel base please? Reason being is, I have been trying to set the rear wheel alignment and would like to know if there is an offset between the front axle and the rear axle. My initial hopes are that there is. Either that or I am way off! Lol
  9. Well done bud, I bet you are well chuffed!!
  10. Have you seen the for sale section lately Gibster? Spoiler for sale. Thought it might be of interest.
  11. Cheers Paul, will do. After a couple of hours of adjustment, I have managed to get both sides to read zero. Does this mean I have the back wheels running parallel, but not necessarily in line with the front? Totally confused now if I was honest. I suppose I should have spent my money on a proper alignment as opposed to trying to do it myself. On a more positive note, when I now drive in a straight line my steering wheel is back to the correct position!!
  12. Maybe worth checking your ignition timing also. Sounds like it maybe borderline and the ecu is tyring to over compensate.
  13. Cheers Yowser!:thumbup1: I've even learnt how to spell it as well,
  14. Can anyone tell me the correct settings with regards to the tow in/tow out for the rear wheels please? (UK 1992 TT with HICAS) (LWB) I am just about to have a play with my TRAKRITE plate gadget and try and set the tracking.

  16. Thanks Guy's I can't stop f**king smiling!!!
  17. SHE PASSED!! No advisories either. Well chuffed to say the least, considering previous years.:dance::dance:
  18. Hi Rebel scum, Looks like your seat mount reinforcement plate is coming away, did the drivers side on mine. It had virtually rotted through. Could not see the total extent until I stripped it back. Maybe something the MOT guys will pull you up on?
  19. Cheers Hollings, Hopefully it will help people contimplating the same.
  20. Any chance of some pictures of the standard stereo please?
  21. I have just replaced both my outer hicas ball joints, I found that the only way I could get mine to budge was to use a 3 legged gear puller combined with a variety of sockets. I would add though, if you do not keep the hub end HOT! the thing will not budge. I had to re heat every turn of the puller. HTH.
  22. Did you get to hear the breaker running before the swap over? Also, in you photo, there seams to be a pipe missing from your ballance bar. Opposite the yellow one. (or is that by passed somehow and has been blanked?)
  23. Cheers Paul C, I did not realise it could only give an accumulative result, I naively thought it would work on each wheel independently. Good job you mentioned that! It looks like I will have to use it to get the alignment somewhere near for now and do as Steams suggest, have it professionally tracked. (thanks Steams) I am hoping it will at least solve my major problem, Since I have done the bushes, ball joints etc' my steering wheel is off to the left by 5 degrees or so when driving straight! will this be corrected once I have set the tracking? was fine before!
  24. I know what you mean Steams, Only thing is, I have taken a few cars to have wheel alignment done only to find excessive tyre wear, so I have ended up adjusting them myself by trial and error. Did not want to have to do the same with the zed as the tyres are f**king expensive. lol
