Seriously!!! Please help.
OK, Start the car from cold, everything is fine. RPM at 1500rpm and all other gauges are fine. So, I select reverse and as soon as I touch the accelerator the revs drop by 500RPM! I then have to over rev to compensate so as to avoid stalling! This goes on untill she reaches normal operating temp, then the reverse happens! Sits at 850 RPM and as soon as I touch the accelerator the revs jump up 500RPM!! I'm begging you guys, can someone tell me how to fix this? It's making driving bl@@dy hell. The only thing that I can say is, that there is a definite click each time I touch the accelerator and it seems to be coming from the right side of the drivers footwell.

What's the difference in sound like? I have just bought the same system and can't wait to feel and hear the change. Well excited. Thank for the pic's also.

FAO:- Mr. Chris Bower
Good decision. He can't say that the club did not give him every opportunity to redeem the situation amicably.

Stuck caliper piston
As Richard says, well worth going the whole hog, you wont regret it. I had several pistons seized and when I stripped them down the others were not that far away! The difference I found when braking was remarkable, and I haven't beaded the new pads in yet.

Mongoose Exhaust?
Well on the back of this, I have just bought a second hand Mongoose cat back system! With a bit of luck I should have it fitted before next weekend. Can't wait! Bit late now I know, but I guess it won't be a problem at the old MOT time?

Mongoose Exhaust?
Thinking of buying a cat back Mongoose exhaust, Will this restrict me with regards to what type/make of headers and precat pipes etc' that I might be able to add at a later date? Last thing I want to do is restrict my options further down the line.

Low on power?
Not a cylinder down Baz, (mores the pity) at least then I would know where the problem is.she runs really smooth! also I have run power balance using data scan, it allows me to switch off the ignition signal to each plug 1 by 1, all are fine. Maybe she is fine, and I just don't know how to drive the thing. Not convinced mind, she does not seem any quicker than my 2.8 Capri to be honest. Oooops! am I allow to say Capri on here?

Low on power?
OK Jeff, so far I have found that if I had a break in the circuit or a faulty sensor,I would get code 34. Would this be a correct assessment? I have checked with data scan but have found no faults. So is it possible that I have a faulty connection somewhere that would cause poor performance without a fault code being thrown up? It would be great to feel what I believe to be the full potential for real. Trouble is, how do I get to clean the connector???

Low on power?
Cheers Jeff, I will do some searching tonight.

FAO:- Mr. Chris Bower
Please do not get me wrong when I say this, I do not condone anything that Chris has appeared to have done wrong with regards to accepting money and not coming through with the goods etc'. The lack of communication and disregard for fellow club members is unacceptable. I would like to add though, although we can all empathise to some degree, it appears to me that Chris is severely, and I mean severely depressed. (something that I can personally relate to.) Chris is exhibiting classic symptoms of totally subconsciously shutting out anything that will only compound his problems, which in turn is leading him to act greatly out of character. His outbusts are almost a cry for help, I would add there are varying degrees of depression, all of which are a form of mental illness. I for one wish him well and once he is, I imagine that he will make good all his wrong doings. After all, we all deal with difficulties in differant ways. Some people are just stronger than others I guess. Come on Chris!

Low on power?
OK, maybe I am just getting use to her now, but I am convinced that my tt just is just simply not right. Don't get me wrong, she boosts fine and generally pulls great through the gears but she lacks that expected kick in the back, if you know what I mean? I am starting to miss judge over taking due to the difference to what I feel should happen and what actually does. It's getting embarrassing tackling the middle of the range cars now. I dare not even consider taking on the likes of Audi's or Jag. One thought has crossed my mind though, my exhaust system is stock and probably 10 years old now, and when I was stripping my rear break pipes, the exhaust system was leaning against the wall. I never thought much of it at the time, but when I re mounted the exhaust I could not help but notice it was full of water. No matter which way up I had it, I could not get it to run out. Could the exhaust be blocked in some way and causing the lack of power? Here's hoping.

Gearbox - how difficult a job
If you drop the prop shaft centre support, make a note of which bolt comes from which side, I believe there are dedicated spacers/washers for correct positioning.

Wheel base
OK. Decided to persevere with the Trakrite, I have to say, I managed to get some pretty consistent results. Seems to be that the most influential factor is the Trakrite being on level ground and being stable when you drive over it! Once I had set both rear wheels with a very slight toe out, I set about taking some string measurements so as to check the offset between front and rear wheels. Taking the fact that I had to assume the front wheels are correct, I measured the difference between the rear wheels and the front, to my joy, I returned measurements of 20mm offset per side. Based I my understanding, that's pretty good I think.
