  1. My plan is to jack up the front end and check for run out with a DTI on a magnetic base. Hopefully I can get to inside and outside faces easily enough. Not done it before, so it will be a bit of trial and error. Hopefully that way I will be able to eliminate the disc's, but I am open to suggestions.
  2. Thanks Lexx, Have checked the wheel nuts, all ok Also checked the disc's and pads, all look good. I will work through all of the advice given step by step. Cheers guys.
  3. Just doing some last minute checks before the Coventry show, so decided to take a little run up the by-pass. Everything was great until I came to slow down from about 80mph to take the exit. Symptoms are vibration and wheel wobble from the front end and transmitted through the steering wheel under heavy breaking. I must be getting 20mm clockwise and 20mm anti-clockwise movement in the steering wheel. Very unnerving to say the least. Car felt very skittish. Under normal low speed braking all appears to be smooth. (Only just passed MOT as well!) Where should I start to look? Things I can eliminate are.. Wheel balance. Warped disc's Faulty callipers and pistons Brake pads. Thanks in advance.
  4. What have you decided on Si? Or is it to be a surprise for the Coventry meet?
  5. I would be interested to see how you go about setting up your lights mate, especially the projected alignments and patterns. Pictures would be nice if possible.
  6. As above title, I have a UK manual tt Lwb and would like to replace my broken one. If memory serves my right, one is Orange and the other Black when looked at end on. My Orange one has snapped off! Can anyone help please?
  7. Agreed! I have had first hand experience and it does not look good.
  8. Stuck a six months tax disk in her! (oo er Mrs) then went for a spin! Bl**dy hell, I had forgotten just how much fun these cars can be. Happy days.
  9. I agree with you Si, the permission was given with regards to the route (ATC) the plain would take and not permission to take off which was the point I was referring to.
  10. It was 1977. The KLM passenger plain did not have permission for take off but went anyway. The Panam was just about to exit the runway. 580 odd died.
  11. Totally feel for you mate. How did the second test go?
  12. It's a wonder there are any cars on the road at that rate! Awful.
  13. Sounds promising, maybe the switch/brake pedal could have been incorrectly set and has become damaged. Post a wanted add, I am sure someone on here will help. Hope you get it sorted mate.
  14. What problems are you having? It may be the fact that your window amp is playing up. Common problem, it's down to the small circuit board developing dry joints. Easy fix, gently pry the end plate from the amp and look for cracked joints on the board. Re solder them and all should be fine.
  15. Worth checking your rear brake light switch under the pedal. It maybe stuck thus illuminating the rear lights even with the ignition off.
  16. Me too! Can't wait to take her out. Hope the weather holds for the weekend.
  17. Brilliant! I get it. :bow::bow:
  18. I think the Bronze tint is for Japanese imports and the Blue is for the UK models.
  19. Cheers Gary. :thumbup1:
  20. Great link Si, I love the fact that you can still incorporate the third brake light. They don't appear to list that though. Need to do some searching.
  21. Got to agree with Si there. Contemplating doing this myself.
  22. Where can I download the info pack from bud?
  23. Good to hear mate! I myself however can not seem to find my paint code listed.:huh:
