Clutch servo issue?
With the engine off, very heavy clutch as expected. Engine running there was a definite difference, but not a great deal. Although it is a bit lighter, it still feels heavier than usual. Also, did hear a unhealthy metal on metal kind of sound each time I depressed the clutch. More noticeable with the engine not running.

Clutch servo issue?
Cheers Lonezedder. :thumbup1: I will try the before and after firing the engine up and see if there is any change. Could the servo have failed without causing a direct vacuum leak?

Clutch servo issue?
Is there an easy way of testing the servo on my clutch? I haven't driven her for a month or so before today and the pedal seemed heavier than I recall. Very heavy in fact. Thanks in advance.

warm up procedure
Is it not the case, that although a higher oil pressure is shown when the oil is cold, the flow rate may still be the same? Surely it's just showing that more effort is required to move the required amount of oil around the system! I would like to think that the oil pump has the scope to cope with a wide range of conditions Once warm, the viscosity changes allowing less energy needed to circulate.

warm up procedure
Unfortunately, I believe 90% of all engine wear occurs from a cold start. All one can do is make sure that the oil is of good grade and in tip top condition. So long as the engine is set up correctly, things should be fine to just get in and drive. I think the general conscientious is to drive conservatively until up to temperature and then only use maximum RPM for very short periods of time. Also, I think the ECU will keep you in safety boost until at least 50+ degrees just to be on the safe side.

Brakes!!!
As Richard said. I refurbished my front brakes after finding most of the cylinders seized. The difference was amazing. Well worth doing in my opinion.

Yes mate, have checked every connection. I will double check tonight as well just to be sure. Thanks for the input. :thumbup1:

Electrical wizard needed
So if I was to look at each one, I should be able to see signs of leaking/damage which in turn would help me to identify the faulty ones?

Electrical wizard needed
Thanks guy's. As I understand it, because domestic voltage is balanced (single phase) the fan can not determine a rotation. It takes a fluctuation of voltage caused by the capacitor responsible. The start up capacitor takes part of the winding and uses it to start rotation, once up to speed the run capacitor takes over. It maybe that both the start capacitor and run capacitor have both failed. My problem is identifying them. Once I have done this I will be able to replace the individual items. The difficulty I have is determining the correct capacitors. So far I have identified the circuit board symbols for them, -//- but the variety of capacitor is very varied.

Electrical wizard needed
I have a Johnson and Starley hot water only condenser boiler. (HE25 H) Initial I would get an error code on the control panel relating to... ( no tacho from fan. ) From there I was able to clear the code and the boiler would fire up, but after a couple of times it would not clear. I did manage to start the fan by hand a couple of times also, but again can not any more. The last time the fan did run it ran very slowly before dying completely but would not fire the boiler. I am no longer able to clear the error at all. Hope you can help.

What did you do to your zed today?
Took the wife away in the Z for the weekend. We stayed in a small village just outside Banbury to celebrate the local pubs 500th birthday. Usually we visit every year by narrow boat, but thought the Z needed a treat this year. Managed to fit in some archery as well.
