The 300zx.co.uk 25th anniversary of the Z32 celebration event......
To answer a few questions Access to the Coventry Museum Transport is 100% free (though it is a charitable trust and maybe we should try to raise a few quid for them as a thankyou?) And (sorry Richard) here is a better link to where we are exhibiting http://www.transport-museum.com/visiting/CarClubs.aspx Regards the BBQ party (which is not gonna be quite what you expect!) and few other things not yet mentioned (like a big convoy up the almost empty (at weekends) M6 Toll road after the Coventry Museum to the BBQ - and we should make sure we get some video done of that!! And then onto the run down the also quite empty A50 dual carraigeway on Sunday for anyone with enough stamina (and no serious hangover) plus through the tunnel at Meir to make some serious noise and on to Beaumanor.....!!! Anyone wanting to make a whole weekend of this will not be dissapointed! Rich oh ps - put me on the list for both days

_______ speakers VS Bose speakers for the zx
This is probably of no use me commenting, but I have two Bose systems in the House The one in the living room is one of the 'Lifestyle' systems from the late 90s with five 'double cube' speakers and a big fook off Sub It sounds good! The one in the dining room come home bar is a 1985 Trio Amp (true 170W RMS per channel and 0.001%THD (distortion) @ full power) and this drives a pair of Bose 301's of the same age with no separate subwoofer. I have owned these for nearly 30 years. Believe it or not the vintage one without a sub is actually much louder and has more punchy beefy bass and a far richer better sound altogether (think high end club/disco system) Not sure why I mentioned that but I did lol Vintage electronics rock! And I love Bose

problem with car help !!! :-\
good decision AGK Jeff changed the leaking matrix on my old Zed while I waited (well actually I went for a walk around town) It took a few hours but it never went wrong again, the car was nice and warm inside, and it was still working fine when I accidentally wrote the car off being silly a year or so later Rich

Personalised Plates
Well if anyone is looking to treat themselves There's quite a few Z relevant plates around cheap it would seem.... A 2X followed by various combinations of 2 letters currently available on plates4less at £158 (will cost about £250 with VAT and transfer fees) E 2XTT which I quite like is £284 and is suitable for any turbo Zed P 2XTT £158 if you have a later registration plate eg a 99 spec W/X/Y 300TT all available (does anyone have Zeds on such late plates?) I like this one M12 XTT (MI ZX TT) which is also £158 but needs an M Reg or later car E 2ED X is available too for £284 J/K/L/M/N 300 TUB all £158 J/M/P/R/T 300 LWB all £158 P/R/T 300 SWB all £158 J/K/L/N/P/R/T 300TTX all £158 There must be loads more too, those are just a few combos I could think of with half an hour spare to look Rich

Passenger Headlight removal!! Arrrrggghh
That is correct actually - Brown Sauce is as acidic as vinegar (in fact vinegar is one of the ingredients), and as it has a gloopy consistency it sticks well to the corroded metal while cleaning it Just coat a dirty coin in Brown Sauce and leave it for 20 mins or so and you will see what I mean HP Brown Sauce works very well - don't know about the cheap stuff you get at cheap shops lol Rich PS Just remembered Brown sauce is Thixotropic, not gloopy lol

Personalised Plates
So seeing as the missus provided me with my new plate D 2ED X who else here has personalised ones on their ZED then (and what have you got)? What is the ultimate Z plate (300 ZX would be perfect but I doubt that exists as an actual plate) I have seen one or two good ones around the site or at shows... Rich PS - we fit satellite systems in pubs so my Transit has P11BTV which looks like PUB TV the way I have it
-

xmas what a total load of rubish
Can I ask what is actually wrong with Christmas? We think we have it worked out perfectly due to plenty of experience So just like in other years we always (and this year is no exception)... we have a few things we stick to: We pay cash for everything we buy on the run up (you can't get into difficulties spending cash and can only spend what you can afford and cash is zero percent interest as well - you even get cash back... it's called CHANGE!) We close our business down and have a week off free of hassle and bother (apart from warranty emergencies if they crop up - gotta keep customers) We light the house up like a Nevada Brothel on A North Pole Fettish We stay at home and don't go shopping at all as we already bought enough to last for a week (OK we may go out for a walk on a nice Winters day if the snow is down - we are not totally housebound lol) We have family round for Christmas dinner then an 'open house party' on Christmas day 8 - till - late (which is usually 2-3am)... everyone friends, family, neighbours, passing Z owners etc (I mean that) lol are welcome We drink too much We eat too much We chill out and watch 'dodgy fillms' on TV - eg Carry on films and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang And we get more sex than when we are busy working! So now come one - someone please tell us - Exactly What is wrong with that???? Rich

TT v NA
@chrisbasildon - which cars have you looked at now (I assume they are advertised on ebay or gumtree etc) and what was the problems you found? Reason for asking, me and a mate were thinking of heading down south to look at a couple cars currently for sale and you could save us some time. Plus the one you went 240 miles must be somewhere nearer to me? Rich

Is it right to disrespect somebody else's personal preference ?
Do they? I just thought we were just in different elites of equal status. I thought those who had modified thier cars and made them as they personally wanted rather than how they were originally made were as elitist than the stock ones! In fact I did suggest we had a specific Modded COTM on some months and stock on others not that it happened for whatever reason, maybe it was a bad idea Anyway thanks for disillusioning me I must be wrong....... But no feck it... I still think I'm in the 'other' elite so I won't take it to heart

Show us yer Decs....
So has anyone else illuminated their house for Christmas yet? Well if you have then let's see them!

Sorn'd
Mines currently SORN too..... which I guess is why I've not been round the forum much of late My MOT ran out and seeing as I still don't have the new turbos quite fitted (need some new actuators which are now on order), though on a positive note the shiny new Zeta-R coilovers are fitted and just need setting up.... and then my Tax ran out I didn't have a lot of choice LOL! I will get there soon though One interesting thing came to light when fitting the new suspension.... both my rear spring were broken at the top and appear to have been in that condition for quite a long time (maybe a couple years or more) yet the car MOTed OK previously. Apparently because the breaks were at the top (which is unusual?) the fault could not be spotted until the old ones came off. So with my old 'shocks' came a bit of a shock! I do remember JeffTT telling me there was something odd and not quite right about the handling of my car when I first got it over two years ago.... though the handling was vastly improved when Zedworld fitted some new steerring arms and various suspension bushes and wheel bearings for me. Yet it has never felt quite as positive or pleasant to handle when compared to my old blue Zed. Maybe that is why? Rich

mmmm well I actually rather like your car in orange (I think the Zed can handle strong 'head turning' paint jobs very well ) and I like it both with and without the vented headlight panel... After vacillating in the corner for a while I probably prefer it slightly more with than without But my advice is....... well these panels are really inexpensive, so I would get one of each and spray them both to match your car and then change them as the mood suits Actually strangely enough, I am about to do the same myself  BTW I really do like the front bumper... which type is it? Rich
-
bonnet
Actually Si, though I disagree with a lot of your opinions in this case seeing the photoshopped version I do agree too :thumbup1: Probably because the strong curves of the front bumper already make enough of a statement IMHO

my shiny new turbos are here
Yeah I know Ian... call me a glutton for punishment LOL Rich
