  1. Aha!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-Front-Strut-Bar-Bars-Strut-Brace-Braces-T304-300ZX-Z32-Fairlady-90-96-/390772151400?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5afbd5d468 Now that looks like the sort of thing I was after - anyone got one of these fitted? Has anyone here got something like this for sale BTW before I go and order something? Rich
  2. @zbolt - yeah mostly I wanted it for looks TBH as I am trying to finish the engine bay off. But one that looks good and actually has some positive effect too wouldn't go amiss I did see that post regards bad fitting ones off ebay wearing a groove into the fuel lines :death: @rolandas - yes mate seen that link but it's $700 plus postage and probably import duty = $1000 I don't mind spending a couple hundred quid or so if I find something I realy like - but $1000!!!! I think not Luke at Zcentre says the Carbing ones are pretty good and actually work, but it's not quite the look I was hoping for
  3. OK folks Could anyone interested in extending the 25th anniversary celebration to cover the afterparty/barbecue and the Sunday show at Beaumanor please let me know Same goes for anyone who can't make the saturday event but would like to come to the party and/or Beaunmanor car show I will be going to spain on 23rd June and won't be back until 16th July so I need to organise things now if this event is going to go ahead Come on.... We're offering to host a great evening to follow the main event, plus the chance to show your car on the Sunday as well, We have some nice facilites here including a fully stocked cocktail bar, proper draft beer on flashcooler, piped music throughout the house and outdoors etc even a disco area with lasers and fog! It could be a lot of fun, but that all depends on folks actually wanting to join in Its up to you lot  Rich
  4. Hi folks Well Trentham is now only a week away I have booked the club stand and paid for ten passes Unfortunately the passes went missing in the post. This is not as problem as the event organisers have allocarted our space and they will send me a replacement set of passes tomorrow (Monday) but this does mean i will not have them until mid week which doesn't really give me time to send them out to folks Therefore I would ask everyone who is attending to meet at the Weathervane Pub Lysander Road, Meir Park, Stoke on Trent, ST3 7WA http://www.hungryhorse.co.uk/pubs/weathervane-stoke-trent For those who attended last year this is the same pub we met at. This is an ideal meeting place as it is only about 4 miles from Trentham Gardens and is directly off the A50 trunk road. They do a very good (and cheap) breakfast, plus there is a McDonalds directly opposite for anyone who prefers a McBreakfast and a Tesco if anyone needs fuel We also get to make some noise drving in convoy through the tunnel at Meir when we go onwards to the show. I can hand out passes on the day - please pay me the £3.50 then. The pass allows your car plus up to two adults and two sprogs under 15 yrs We will be leaving the Weathervane at 9am as we need to be on our stand by 10am and there is usually quite a queue at the exhibitors entrance The list as it stands is as follows dicky96 Ian Greenfield 300ZX_666 mark300zx cheshire300zx gray candy red (280zx) Rob Gaskin (240Z) richieP (S30 Fairlady Z) Could anyone who is on the list and not attending please let me know We currently have one spare pass available - who would like it? Trentham was a great day out last year, let's make it another good one Rich
  5. Yeah she's not doin' bad for an old girl. I tell the missus the same x So in which digit do we differ mate? If you got A 2ED X I'll kill you for it LOL or at least bow in respect :punk: Rich
  6. Yeah Rolandas that's the sort of thing I had in mind mate :innocent: I believe those ABFlug ones are rather rare beasties though? Rich
  7. LOL I pray for the day I will actually see the car finished!!!! Rich
  8. Hi folks:) I'm looking for a front Strut Brace to fit to my car, preferably something wide, shiny (stainless/chromed) and that will fit OK with the throttle cable cover in place Maybe something specific with a Z or Nissan logo embossed/cutout Ebay/Google isn't really being my friend in this case and Luke over at Zcenrte doesn't have any on his site Can anyone suggest something good? Cheers Rich
  9. No worries about these cables- I moved the offending connectors and hid them away behind the stainless slam panel I've now bypassed and removed the HICAS controller from the inner wing I got the rear sections of the inner wing skinz cut drilled and persuaded (I found a lot of swearing helped) to fit properly. - and have now taken them back off to prep for spraying I've still got the front sections of the wing skinz to fit, I do hope that is less ball-ache than doing the back sections!! Rich
  10. Well it took a month after I got my car back on the road for the DVLA to finally process my number plate application. First time it was rejected as my existing plate J95 UBM was apparently a private plate (I just thought it was an age related one) I still can't figure out if there was some meaning to that old Reg number but I signed a letter to relinquish it. Anyway finally yesterday I got my new plates on - oh and the sun made a half hearted attempt to come out too for once So I parked up and grabbed a few pics
  11. Hi Guys I am fitting skinz on the inner wings to tidy up the engine bay On the attached pic could someone just confirm..... I cut off the metal pipe B and attach it to rubber pipe A I can then remove the HICAS cylinders Does the other rubber pipe coming from the sterring fluid reservoir go to the clutch? The three unused connectors pointed at by the purple arrows C - are these redundant (to do with when car was an auto) and can I get rid of these connectors What is the other wire I labelled X? It attaches to a wire that is taped up with insulting tape which looks like some modification was made here. Any ideas? I was chatting with cheshire300zx (Paul) at Tatton last weekend and he was saying the best idea is to attach the skinz with Sikoflex. Any comments on that? Cheers Rich
  12. Maybe if I could just mention... on mine the centre rear panel has reversing lights in the top two sections, either side of the 300ZX logo (3 x 3W LEDs = 9W each side) and the fog lights are in the two bottom sections (also 3 x 3W LED each side) That is pretty easy to do with some plastic dividers and the LEDs plus a few power resistors I think (IIRC) I did the same on Andy (phutumsch) rear panel? Because it is done with LEDs you don't really notice any difference externally. But bear in mind 3W LEDs are equivalent of about 30W bulbs so basically as I have three each side in each section I actually have about 180W of reversing light and the same for fogs. Believe me it's pretty noticable when they are on!! :devil2:
  13. I have a socketted ECU already done if you would like an exchange for your existing one, as I made a socketted one for my car, then socketted the one that came off. It has the orginal eprom inserted in the socket at the moment It's nicely and professionally done If you want that one, I can send it out as an exchange for yours, you test to make sure it's OK on your car (I know it will be) and then send back your old one in return plus £40 to cover my postage st and the socketting work I did How's that sound? Rich
  14. @tomomontana Yeah thanks for that thread and pic I already understand I need to make the bypass by joining the rubber tube from the reservoir to the metal pipe coming ourt of the hicas controller (with the end cut off) What i was asking was what do I do with the two other pipes coming from the hicas contoler and going down into the engine bay The HICAS on my car is already eliminated (on the rear axle I guess) Also if I need to bleed the power steering system afterwards how do I do that Cheers Rich
  15. HI guys n girls My car has the rear HICAS eliminated. I now want to remove the HICAS cylinder/controller thingy on the front inner wing I understand that i need to cut the metal pipe which connects to the HICAS unit (the pipe nearest the Headlight) and then connect it directly to the rubber pipe that goes from the Fluid reservoir to the HICAS thingy. There are two other pipes coming from the HICAS controller which are lower down, and disappear downwards into the engine bay. I guess these go off to the rear axle? What do I do with those two? Also will all the fluid come gushing out (ooh err) and do I need to bleed the power steering once i have done all this? Cheers Rich
  16. The fibreglass Viper wings are on mine and they actually fit very well as supplied by Luke at Zcentre, The front bumper was the thing that needed a bit of work to get it right. Maybe I was just lucky with the wings but they did not require any modification to get them to fit right I used to have the tailgate 'tub' on my old blue Zed. It fits into the existing tailgate, in place of the glass. It had a small perspex window. I would imagine it is quite a bit lighter than the original glass but have never tried to weigh the two It does not fill up with water, unless you happen to park on a hill facing downwards  Incidentally, the visibility out of the small rear perspex window on my old Zed was a lot better than out of my stock tailgate I have now! Hope that helps. Rich
  17. Mmmm, Aye, Well.... I took the car yesterday for the remapping, however during all the initial tests a few problems were highlghted (to do with various sensors not working properly, the boost controller and a few other issues) which basically meant that Noz was able to do a remap on the car so it is now fueling properly but he was not able to set up the boost on my turbos for safety (to the car) reasons, but it is currently only running about 0.6bar. It's possible I was being somewhat over cautious here as Noel did offer to do some performance runs on the dyno as the car stands but given my past records with Zeds lol (in other words the missus would kill me if I broke it again!) it was probably the best decision - or at least I felt it was. So unfortunately guys I need to get these things sorted out then take her back for a proper performance map As I am going on an extended holiday on the Costa Del Sol a few weeks that is either gonna be in a couple of weeks, or back end of July - depending on how quick I can get things sorted properly Having said that the car is running very well on the road - it's just I couldn't do the fire-breathing monster stuff Which basically means I don't have any dyno results for you guys at the moment. Sorry. Rich
  18. With those wheels, I'd go for orange with black lettering too Rich
  19. Hmmm FunkySi why don't you just change your profile name to Mr 'Don't-Wanna-Do-That' and have done with it?
  20. Hey Gray, that is looking really nice mate!
  21. Had a call from Noz today and unfortunately the remap got put back until next Tuesday as the rolling road was not available So plenty time for more guesses lol Of course I will scan and upload the results/graphs Rich
  22. OK so this is for anyone wanting to make the weekend of it.... I did mention it way back on the 25th Anniversary thread but thought I would start a fresh one here for anyone wanting to continue the celebrations after the Coventry meet We are hosting a barbecue/party on the Saturday evening of the 19th July at our place in Stoke to commence once we get back from the 25th Anniversary meet at the Coventry transport museum :) Anyone who would like to come along is welcome to join us. It's about an hours or so run up from Coventry to our place and if anyone fancies it we could run up the M6 toll (i.e. Big Empty Road!!) in convoy - maybe even get someone to take pics or video off one of the bridges while we do it. Pretty much all the way from the 25th Anniversary meet to our house in Stoke is motorway/dual carraigeway There are lots of cheap hotels in Stoke for anyone wanting to stay over (and I can also put a few of you up at my place and my dads place - he kindly offered - for free but first come first served) And then on the Sunday there is a classic and sports car show at Beaumanor Hall near Loughborough, Leicestershire http://www.transtar-promotions.co.uk/home/beaumanor-hall/ I will be arranging some passes for this show (it's the same organiser as Weston Park, Trentham and Shugborough) It is about an hour run from Stoke to Beaumanor Also anyone who is staying at Coventry on the Saturday night could easily get from Coventry over to Beaumanor on the Sunday if you like (M69/M1 is a pretty direct route) And finally of course, if you can't make the Coventry meet but would like to come to the Barbecue & Party on the Saturday evening and/or Beaumanor on the Sunday you are more than welcome See the attached map for some idea of the geography Coventry Transport Museum -> dicky's place (red line) = 66 miles 1hr 14min via M6(Toll)/A500 dicky's place -> Beaumanor (purple line) 49 miles 56 mins via A50/M1 Coventry Transport Museum -> Beaumanor (blue line) 37 miles 47 mins via M69/M1 So to recap If you would like to come to the barbecue & party after the Coventry meet on the Saturday.... please let me know If you would like to attend the Beaumanor show on the Sunday either joining a convoy from Stoke or from Coventry (or just going directly there)..... please let me know If you want free overnight accommodation ask, but can only accom a few of you! So why not make a weekend of it? Rich
  23. hey no worries the question was a good 'un I have some more specific info now as Lee Dent knows what the clutch is seeing as he had to pull my engine So I can tell you it is 'quote: Clutch was an exedy spec 1.1 so pods a stage 2 ' So toss that into the equation as well. Roll on Thursday...... quite literally i would imagine
  24. mmm in fairness Tom I don't really know It's whatever one was in there when I bought the car TBH The car was originally an Auto, and converted to manual before I owned it so it would be whatever was fitted at that time I guess. As other upgrades were also already fitted like the Decat Exhaust and HKS Boost controller (and the Eibech suspension) it could be anything - so I just said it is standard AFAIK :innocent: I assume if it is 'standard' then I will soon know about it? Rich
