Blackpool Halucinations (lol) October 2014!!!
@Bruce We stayed at this Premier Inn last year for the illuminations run It's the one just down the side road from the South Pier It does indeed have a free car park and it also has 24hr manned security There is a pub attached to the hotel though in fairness I may be wrong and it may not be a Harvester as I said, but is something very much like that, and they also use this at the Hotel if you book bed & breakfast (for your brekkies) so it must be part of it It's this one http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/BLAYEA/blackpool-beach A very good place to stay if we do this as it is close to the resort pubs clubs and trams too. Currently quoting £192 for two persons for the two nights But since you are local you can probably come up with a cheaper/better suited venue in which case let's go for that instead mate - and are you gonna join in the fun too? Blackpool Halucinations (lol) October 2014!!!
OK after the success of last years drive through of the Blackpool illuminations my fellow REO (and the welsh one too lol) had a chat today and decided to do it all over again! This is most certainly the last chance to come out and play in your Zed before the onset of winter so what better excuse. The date this year is Saturday 18th October The plan is to meet at the Blackpool Premier Inn at the South Shore - just a few hundred yards from the South Pier This has a large secure and free carpark, and importantly no speed bumps Also this means that we can start the run through the illuminations from near the South Pier rather than having to queue for several miles like we did last year I would suggest we do the run a lot earlier this time (say 7pm?) and instead of trying to run all the way to Bispham we run up to the big roundabout a mile or so after the North Pier and turn back round there and come back down again This means we will be mostly in the busiest part of the resort therefore more folks to admire our cars lol After party at the Harvester pub which is attached to the hotel So who is up for it this time round then? And would you like to stay at the Premier Inn for one or two nights or just come up on the evening? If we get a list together soon we can prebook rooms and possibly get a bit of discount. If there is enough on the Friday night we could do a mini-illuminations run then too just for the fun of it (it's much quieter on the Fri night) Rich The list --------- dicky96 (Fri & Sat) Hotel Booked T.Mogsy (Sat) JaiKai (as long as car ready) Roobarb Squee KJZ32 Iangreenfield (Fri & Sat) Hotel Booked Gray (Fri & Sat) - hotel booked Princeking (Sat) SuperStu - 350Z - MartinMac - 350Z -

Runway Display Car Show - Stafford Sunday 31st August
And the last few.... As you can see this was somewhat different from the usual classic car show Probably more suited to the petrol head and also the younger drivers who are into the hot hatch scene as there were a lot of custom/modern cars on show However it was an enjoyable day. Hopefully the organisers will pick up on a few points - the venue (disused air strip) was the ideal venue for this sort of showw and if they can get an even better attendance next year it could become a more major event. Runway Display Car Show - Stafford Sunday 31st August
This was the first time they have held this event. The flavour of car was a little different than other classic car shows I have been to - with more emphasis on sports cars and modern cars I grabbed a few pics of anything that caught my attention so here are the non Z ones I hope you enjoy them Now I did spot this Lotus Elise... made me wonder if Funkysi owned an Elise would it look anything like this :clown:

Thanks for that, there are some really clever folks on here. It was a nice rare/exotic spot on the road then? Yeah I can concur it did go like stink - It overtaked me on the Junction of the A500/A50..... I chased this thing hard up the first part of the A50 which is three lanes wide and pulled in front then dropped back to the inside lane....after coming alongside and giving me the thumbs up and a smile (when my passenger got this pic) he headed for the vanishing point pretty bloody rapid - though I may have tried to give him a good run for the money if my car was running properly AS for ugly - come on guys - anything that stylish has gotta be pretty good fun!
