OK folks the time is just about upon us We will be meeting from 5pm onwards at The Premier Inn Blackpool (Beach) Yeadon Way, South Shore, Blackpool, FY1 6BF There is a pub wher we can get saomething to eat or drink, a Petrol Station for anyone who needs it, and a large car park where we can park up together and gt some pics of our cars Get there any time you like, but we will be leaving here at 7pm to drive through the illuminations Actually Ian Greenfield and Myself (Gray if you wanna join in as you are in Blackpool) are gonna do a trial run of the route in the afternoon around 2pm so if anyone wants to come along early to do this then let me know If you are on the list and know you are not gonna be attending could you please let me know to save us hanging around waiting for you to show. Likewise if you have decided to come along last minute then let me know. Yeah come along mate - a few of us are staying from Friday onwards as well - but see if you can make the actual illuminations run from 7pm onwards on the Saturday it was bloody brilliant last year and it is gonna put a big smile on your face driving out in a convoy of Zeds!! Hey Roobarb - get there anytime you like before 7pm - there is a Pub attached to the Premier Inn (Harvester I think) we can all congregate there and maybe get a bite eat before we set out The car park is huge by the way - and no speed bumps this time!!! Hi Guys Well The Illuminations run is almost upon us My plan this year is to all meet at the carpark by the Premier Inn Yeadon Way (X on the map) There is a petrol station here too for anyone who needs to top up Unless someone with local knowledge of the roads and expected traffic conditions can advise me better we will leave here at 7pm We will do the Illuminaitons run from South to North this year From Yeadon way, looking at the attached map we could travel via St Annes Road -> Squire Gate Lane or we could travel Lytham Road -> Squire Gate Or some combination of the two using interlinking roads Either way we would enter the promenade at point Y on the map If anyone local could give some advice on this (ar any locals actually taking part?) that would be a great help Cheers Rich

Hey there are some really clever folks on here........ :)

Friends tell me that I worry to much but I can't help taking notice of thngs that go on in the world around me and then wonder why they happen! OK so the latest one that's bugging me When Sainsbury's announced profits yesterday and they talk about like for like sales excluding fuel (petrol) and I suddenly realised that when all supermarkets announce sales results they always exclude fuel So why is that then? I mean what is wrong with the fuel sales and why won't they tell you what they are - even if you were interested? But they all do it..... excluding fuel. I tried a google but could not come up with any obvious answer to this - is it a conspiracy lol? There are so many strange things that you hear in everyday life that don't seem to have any explanation but I don't believe anything happens by chance Someone must work at a supermarket... can you answer the question? Hi guys n gals Well we got back from our two week break in La Carihuela (the nicest part of Torremolinos without doubt) Whilst sunning ourselves on the beach on Sat 20th we were disturbed by lots of honking and tooting of horns - then over 100 classic cars and exotica proceeded to drive all down the beach front promenade which is normally pedestrians only! This runs for miles all the way from Torremolinos to Benal Madena Marina About an hour later we heard the cars on the return leg driving down the pedestrian street one back from the promenade - where lots of bars and shops are Lot's of interesing sights to see - didn't get any pics myself but here is a video showing part of the rally (there were a lot more) when they entered onto the back street for the return journey Anyone know what the unusual looking white one is about 6mins 15 secs This was a great unexpected bonus to our holiday. Apparently they do it twice a year, once in the spring and again late september Mmmmm looks like this could do with a few Zeds in the lineup though - I wonder how practical it would be for a few of us to drive down next year, join the rally and stay for a few days in the sun mmmm It does look like it would be fun. Got another quote from a recommended bodyshop - this one came from guys on the VW Golf show circuit Revised quote was £140 to repair the rear bumper and £150 to cut out the rotten metal from the nearside wheel arch, weld in new metal, blend in and respray So total £290 Original quote was £260 for rear bumper and £140 to grind down and patch up rear arch - total £400 So cheaper quote and proper repair. That will do for me :)

OK Si that's fair advice. If it does need need a bit cutting out now to make it good (if the damage isn't very extensive yet) then may as well do it now and save big problem later

Ahh right OK I'm still debating with myself whether to fit a wide rear arch kit and complete the 'show car' look. At that time I would make sure any rot was cut out of the underlying panels and repaired before hand - as I did with my sills and sill returns before this kit went on. Having said that, I am rebuilding my orginal engine with forged components this winter so any further bodykit conversion would have to wait until next winter anyway So is it not worth rubbing back, filling and treating the bubbling arch then? Just seemed to me that I may as well do it while the rear bumper is being fixed as it did not add much to the price. Rich

Got a quote to fix it - £260 As the rear bumper was a complete one-off, modified from a Shark V1, most of this is filler Decided may as well get the two little 'bubbled' areas of paintwork on the nearside rear arch fixed at same time seeing as they have to respray the rear quarter anyway. The metalwork on the arch all sounds solid if you tap it - so not sure what was causing the bubbling at the moment Rich

Today I reveresed it into a bloody post!! :innocent: Couldn't see it (driving position too low) and thought the one in my nearside wing mirror was the last one in the row. It wasn't

HI The trim has fell of the Rear roof bar (passenger side) Its the short bit of trim just behind the targa section (see attached pic) Has anyone got a spare one in good nick that I can buy? Cheers

Yeah that's the idea lol Last year we started about 8:30pm from Bispham wasn't it? But had to queue for ages even to get to the start of the illuminations. I was thinking that we would start from the Premier Inn and get onto the sea front near the south pier. Starting at 7pm 'Blackpool-Z32' gave me a lot of assistance as he lives local. Hopefully he or one of the other local members will have some good suggestions This meet is now advertised on 350ZX-uk and Zclub too Rich

@Gray - actually we were thinking (and Hope anyone staying at the Premier wants to come and join us).... Ian don't worry mate cos we will drag you along anyway lol......to get the tram up to north pier (near to you) on the Friday night as there is a very good and reasonable priced Italian Restaurant (and Italian owned too ) up there - La Fontana http://www.lafontanarestaurant.co.uk/ and then maybe onto the Soul Suite for some drinks - fantastic place if you can handle a bit of soul and motown! And free admission too. Rich

Ian & Beth, Myself & Julie are now booked in to the Premier Inn, Yeadon Way Friday & Sat night Gray if you are staying over and want to use this hotel then probably best to book soon as it is pretty full due to being half term that weekend Unfortunately this means half term prices! £192 for 2 persons twin/double room for the two nights room only. Wouldn't bother with the breakfast as it is expensive and we found a really good cafe on the South peir which is like 5 mins walk from the hotel and they did a bloody good breakfast for under a fiver Those not staying can meet us at the pub attached to the hotel on Saturday - the car park is huge and secure so no problems there Who else want's to come join us then? This is gonna be a great weekend break, or just the Saturday evening drive-thru. Probably the closest you are ever gonna gcome to a Vegas style Drive-thru in the UK! Rich

More photo sets have been added (use link above) Had an email from the organisers today and we are welcome to return - they are gonna reinvest the money raised from this pilot event in marketting and facilities to make Runway Display 2015 an even bigger and better event I for one will be giving it another go - and hope a few others will want to join me I can't quite put my finger on it but there's something about this rather unusual show on Tarmac that I liked From their website: Our Mission statement for 2015: [] Runway Display will become a Motor Show and not just a car show. As long as it has four wheels or more then it can be displayed at the event! [] A Trade Village - We aim to have a minimum of 20 trade stands. [] Cars of the decades - A section dedicated to the most iconic 5 cars from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s [] Film star Cars - We will have an array of replica cars from the big screen.
