  1. microtec is a common one too but ive never used it
  2. download the wolf3D installation and user guids at http://www.wolfems.com.au/home
  3. it would be a huge job to fit one to the Z. and setting it up would be a nightmare. unless they can do a plug and play kit that fits the standard ecu socket but i doubt it. they certainly didnt do one when i bought mine. its got loads of good features and plugs straight into the PC, mapping software is simple to use but you have to know what your doing. it also gives you data logging, and wideband and narrow band O2 for closed loop control and for setting up the AF. the instructions are very good but its still a BIG job on the Z
  4. ive got a Wolf3D V4 its quality,
  5. your not meant to do that i think it still damages the diode. plus on a fully charged battery the power drain will be negligable. only at night with full beams and AC on will u notice it. better off getting under drive pullies. although the same energy is required to charge the battery regardless of how fast the alternator spins.
  6. aye it could be that or a dirty/corroded injector connector. if its a jap car then the cat over heat light normally comes on if its lost a cylinder by spark, cos the unburnt fuel is heating up the cat. if its not coming on then it could well be a dirty injector connector because no unburnt fuel is going down. identify the offending cylinder by using the method described above Fraser

should do, depends if i have to go back out again will know soon tho sorry to keep swaying. Fraser
  8. just think, the CCA of a battery is up at about 220A and it doesnt do any damage when your starting the car in the morning does it?
  9. ye well the battery goes directly to the starter and is un-fused so that would happen
  10. its probably in safety boost, or the oil from the turbos has goosed an 02 sensor or the maf is goosed.

    aah, well im convinced :D
  12. take the old ones in with you, i did and was glad of it because the ones from the book were wrong. got the right ones in the end though
  13. if its going to earth then there is no current path through any other components. only an induced voltage in the loom but cant see it. ive welded heaps of cars with fancy ecu's, curise control and never even disconnected the battery. if your that worried though disconnect the loom from the ecu, but then where do you stop? auto box ecu, ascd unit? alternator.....

  18. have u checked for a spark? will only take 2 mins PTU doesnt matter about orientation as long as its plugged in and has good connections. the casing might have to be earthed though, but im not sure
  19. engine doesnt have to be running, as long as the ignition is on. my peddle buzz is deffo the idle sovs at the back of the plennum, i guess theyre PWM and are opening and closing because of the input from the TPS wouldnt worry about it is it especially worse the first 15-20 mm of throttle travel then stops?

  21. CAS (cam angle sensor) is what youve called Cam sensor PTU is the finned box a bit bigger than a fag packet on the opposite cam belt cover give the connectors a good wiggle and try it again
  22. have you checked all the CAS and PTU connectors? apart from that there should be no other reason for it not to start have you checked for a spark?
  23. jack it up and rattle the shocks about, rattle the wheel at the 2.45 position and check all the balljoints. and check the spare wheel and jack are well secured in the boot
